Ambiance (3/5): Dan Electros is located in a residential neighborhood. They have a relatively small parking lot and it was completely full on a Wednesday. We ended up parking on the street a block or two away. Initially, I wasn't too impressed. Dan Electros has a gravel parking lot. Never a fan. It gets your car dirty and your shoes dirty. When you walk in though, you're entering a dive bar with some character. It's tough to describe what that is exactly but it's something you feel. Dan Electros hosts a lot of live music and they have a small dance floor. If you're into live music, as I am, this may be the spot for you. They also have a pool table which is always a plus in my book. Service (4/5): I ordered a drink at the bar. I was greeted promptly and received my drink promptly. When I later went back to the bar to close out, I was able to do so without much effort. Solid experience overall. Food (N/A): I didn't have any food as I had dinner prior, but I don't think they have food anyway. I'm not 100% though. Drinks (4/5): For a dive bar, Dan Electros has a cool menu with some interesting cocktails and a good beer list. Even at a dive bar, it's nice when you can order more than just beers and simple cocktails. With that said, I had a beer. When in Rome.

Only reason I'm giving them a 3 star rating and not a 1 star rating is because the DJ was fire. Had a lot of us dancing, if I were them I would stop promoting the specials if they will not come true with it. Other than that, the people there were a vibe and the music was fire.

It's located on 19th street just a house or two down from Wicklow and welcomes visitors to a very unassuming exterior. Many people who frequent the heights bars don't even know that it is there. However the bar's charm ensures that those who have found it never stay away for long. Inside, the jukebox sings over the metallic symphony of pings from the numerous pinball machines. You'll find several people gathered at the bar, a group of four matched up playing pool in the back, and a couple just finishing their photo booth session waiting for the strip to print. Outside, in the huge wrap around backyard, there will be a group of smokers, another group of friends seated at the cushioned lounge chairs, and a group of guys loosely chatting at a picnic table. For beverage needs, cheap drinks await. True to dive bar style, all of the liquor options are there and palatable but nothing of high quality. The bartender, or sultan of shots, as I like to think of it, provides the perfect ratio of mixer with a no name whiskey to keep you coming back for more. And hey, after seeing the total of your bar tab, it's heard to say no. With the drinks flowing and the mood set, Big Star will be sure to suck you into it's galaxy until 2am, when alas, last call will be made and it will be time to head home and back to reality.

The bar is right across from Market Square in one of the historic buildings. It has an extremely laid back vibe with photos of the owner's family on the walls.
