This is my 3rd time going to IPIC. I'm not a huge fan of movies but if I go to a movie IPIC would the one. I love the reclining seats, the blanket, and the bathrooms are very clean. I came in with my boyfriend and we needed to use the restroom. When we walked in, we were barely greeted and were still trying to figure out which movie we wanted to watch. We headed to the restroom first, but an employee followed us and told us we couldn't use it. I politely asked if we could buy the tickets first and then use the restroom, but the whole interaction felt unnecessary and frustrating. Because of that, we ended up buying tickets much earlier than the time our movie actually started. When we got to our seats, they weren't clean, so my boyfriend had to ask if someone could wipe them down, which was also irritating. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience. We tried to give this place a chance, but next time we'll probably just go to Cinemark. read more

Food came out late as well, and didn't come with napkins or cutlery had to ask for those when they should have been included. It's still perfectly acceptable but has defintiely gone a bit downhill since it's been open. It's still a slightly better experience than a regular movie theater, but has fallen behind some of the similar dine-in options like Alamo Drafthouse. It may be in need of a revamp sooner rather than later Price: Being in the river oaks area it is a bit pricier for tickets. The food is priced reasonably though Food: They have the usual food fair. Everything is pretty good but nothing is particularly mind blowing to me. They have a button at each seat pairing to call your server. Each seat pair shares a table which can be a bit limiting depending on how you're ordering. Seats: The seats recline fully and you do get a blanket. The blankets are not as nice as when they first opened. I do love that they have a divider between each seat pair so you have a bit of separation between guests. Overall space: The space is starting to show its age with scuffs and cracks around. Especially noteworthy was the entry to the women's restroom no longer has a glass door and has a little black curtain hanging in it's place. read more

Ipic is such a comfortable and upscale theater. The seating inside the theater is comfortable and feels semi-private because of the two seat booths that are partitioned off. If you are a solo movie goer like me this can be awkward if someone books the adjoining seating because they are pretty private and intimate. This place is great for date nights. Dine-in, drink, and snack while you watch the movie or you can dine-in and drink at The Tuck Room. I didnt eat food off the menu because me and a friend had dinner reservations but we shared churros (which were amazing), m&ms, and we each had our own tub of popcorn. I had the cheddar (i loved) and she had the truffle parmesean (did not like). We both had alcoholic beverages as well. I rated them down because we told the waitress we were on separate checks and she did it anyway. We had tine to spare before dinner reservations so we got drinks at the tuck room. The staff was great but they did the same thing. They cashed us out on the same check. This is a great place for date nights but I probably wont be a regular here unless I am with someone. Had not been to see a movie in theater in 6 years but was talked into going to see The Accountant 2 on a Thursday evening back in May. Half way through the movie the screen cut out with the sound still running. It took about 15 minutes for them to get the movie running again during which time they apologized and said that it was raining outside (ok?!). When they were finally able to get it going again we had to rewatch 15 minutes that we had already seen. Overall a pretty mediocre experience. Went back again this past weekend having purchased premium plus seats on row A. Maybe this is on me, but again, I have seen one movie in theaters in the past 6 years, but row A is basically sitting on top of the screen with no buffer space. Like, there is no way to see the whole screen at the same time. One of the side panels on the seats was also being held together with heavy duty tape. I was shocked that these seats are being sold at the same price as other premium plus seats because it's certainly not a premium plus experience. We opted to bounce instead of seeing the movie that way. They graciously refunded our tickets but TBH I would have rather taken the L than tried to watch the movie that close to the screen. IPIC Houston - 4.2/5 Been to this location twice now, and overall it's a solid spot if you're going for the dine-in movie experience--not if you're looking for top-tier screen quality. The theater has a nice vibe. Seats are leather and somewhat clean - there was some popcorn and crumbs under the cupholder area and a little dirty around the seats. No blankets the first time I went...but they were there this time. The food is pricey, but the portions were a lot bigger than I expected. We had the pepperoni pizza (thin crust, surprisingly good), truffle fries (crispy and flavorful), and a jalapeño tequila cocktail called Something with Tequila. The drink was spicy--caught me off guard at first--but it kinda grew on me. Probably wouldn't order it again, but not bad. We ordered everything before the movie started, which I highly recommend. First time I went, the food came during the film, and we couldn't see anything--just fumbling around in the dark trying to eat. A few tips/critiques: * Row B is way too close to the screen. I'd go with Row D or further back. * Screen quality isn't amazing--don't expect IMAX or Dolby Vision. If you're going strictly for the movie, go elsewhere. * But if you're on a date or just want good food while watching your movie? IPIC does the job. I really really love IPIC. It is one of my favorite places to visit on date night. The whole experience is luxurious from beginning to end: the seats are SO comfortable, the blankets are a very nice touch, service is fast, servers are all so friendly, and the food is surprisingly good! Some of our favorite items in the menu are the Meatza pizza and Margherita pizza, the Boss Burger and the buttermilk fried chicken. As far as sweets go, their churro popcorn is delicious, as is the cheesecake with raspberry sauce. Be aware: they automatically include an 18% gratuity in the check - I only realized this recently, after having visited many times in the past. Lastly, parking in the garage is abundant, and it is FREE! Your license plate will be scanned upon entering the garage, and again as you are exiting. read more

I have been coming to this theater for over 10 years, which is why this experience was so upsetting and shocking. After driving about an hour to attend a movie, I came in needing to use the restroom urgently before checking in and explained that to the employee at the front. Instead of being met with understanding, I was told I needed to leave the building to find a restroom elsewhere. Another employee ultimately allowed me to use the restroom. Before going, I did say that the situation felt like "horrible customer service," because I was simply trying to use the restroom after a long drive. I was then told I could not speak that way and in response asked to address it with a manager afterward I returned from the restroom. When I came out of the restroom, the manager was already there. Without asking what had happened or giving me an opportunity to explain, he immediately told me I would not be allowed to stay and said security had been called. I wasn't given a chance to resolve anything, use my ticket, or continue with what was meant to be a Valentine's Day outing. Within minutes, multiple police officers and a security guard arrived to escort me out, even though I was calm and cooperative. The sudden escalation was extremely distressing. What began as a simple request turned into an experience that felt humiliating, frightening, and completely unnecessary. As a long-time customer, this was deeply disappointing. A conversation and a little compassion could have resolved this. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled so no one else has to go through something similar. read more

We have been regular customers for years. IPIC has gone through its ups and downs. For instance, the escalators were broken for years, and during that time, even the elevator was also broken. Now it appears they are finally working, which is great. The actual movie presentation has always been very good, both picture and sound. It's the food service that is problematic. While the servers have been uniformly nice and accommodating, the kitchen is not reliable. Last night we went to eat in the Tuck Room before the movie. We arrived before 6:30 to have time to eat before showtime at 7:45. Although our waiter was very nice, by 7:30, we still had not received our entrees. The waiter had to cover the bar as well as tables, so I went up to ask him about our food. He went to the kitchen and returned, apologizing profusely, to tell me they could not make my entree, which was their heavily advertised monthly special, the oyster po' boy. At that point I offered to pay only for what we had eaten and head to the theater. That apparently didn't sit well, as he went to the manager and returned, saying that the oyster po' boy was now magically available and could be delivered to us in the theater. So, we paid for everything in advance. I was annoyed that the manager did not bother to speak with us directly. In the theater, our waiter was also very nice and pleasant. The entrees were delivered, but the po' boy was cold and clearly had been sitting around for quite a while. My wife's salmon entree was excellent though. We also ordered popcorn when we entered the theater. By twenty minutes into the feature, we still didn't have it, so we pushed the button again and re-ordered it. The popcorn came soon thereafter, but it was cold and nowhere near fresh. Bottom line: the kitchen is going through a rough patch right now. If you eat in the Tuck Room, be sure to arrive at least 1.5 hours before showtime. I suspect the kitchen is short-staffed, and hopefully will be brought up to full complement before too long. This has happened before, and no doubt it will happen again. In the meantime, I probably would not take a first-date to IPIC. Once you become a regular customer, you can get used to its vicissitudes. Came here for date night and didn't care for the movie we watched but I did enjoy the theater. They provided blankets which my anemic self appreciated and the menu had a good selection of items. The service was prompt and the experience was pretty relaxed. I ordered a cookie and lobster mac n cheese. The lobster mac n cheese was a 7/10 and the cookie was an 8/10. This is not my first time going but definitely not my last. I love going here, from the ambiance to the hospitality. As soon as we walk in the staff is super welcoming and friendly. You have the option to go to the bar and eat & drink - which is so upscale, totally could come here just to get a drink. We went to go to see Lion King Pt. 2 - great movie btw - totes cried. We ended up ordering the Mozarrella Sticks, Chicken Wings (Lemon Pepper) , and the Filet Mignon Sliders. My boyfriend raves about the Mozzarella Sticks. You can't go wrong with the chicken wings either. This was my first time ordering the sliders & I totes regretted it. They sounded so good but when I got them they were super chewy and the steak took up like 1/2 the slider so there was just bread at points. The sweet potato fries I was looking forward to so much were cold. I ended up returning my food & opting for my go to Chicken Caesar Salad - girl dinner - & a glass of Merlot. Parking: FREE, once you enter garage, it just goes up in winding matchbox car like garage levels. Many spaces are RESERVED so park where it doesn't say that. HEIGHT will fit all vehicles, I have a 6'7 truck and it's just a wide, open space. Where's the Cinema? To find it, you have to go to the "C" elevator (there are 2 elevators, go into the "C" one further down, and it will take you to the first floor. Then, once inside theatre, it will take you back up escalators in theatre, to the 2nd floor movie halls. PAYMENT: ONLY Card, Apple Pay customers. Sadly, they won't accept cash and you'll get no grace from the attendant. Ticket Cost: At 2:30pm Jurassic showing on a Tuesday, it cost 2 teenage boys $25 each so the total was $50. I was going to watch movie with them, but I wasn't prepared for this cost. I had looked at the website and it didn't tell me this cost. I guess they charge double for free parking and service to feed you while you sit down and watch. Employees: Xavier with the dreadlocks, built, tall dude.... XAVIER with the smile and Xavier who looks like he came from Game of Thrones, HE was like a blessing to me! I could not express enough how he helped me with my teenage boys. My son just graduated high school and literally we flew from California to Houston, but he hasn't been able to go out since he graduated; he has been here 3 weeks stuck in our Air BnB. My other son, he is "On the mild Spectrum" so, he needs to know everything is good and safe, he needs to have something to snack on and drink. Out of the blue, Xavier was my theatre Angel. I paid but had to leave. It was Xavier who was encouraging this mom and said, "don't worry, we got them" and he was so considerate in serving and remembering them. I had to leave to pick my daughter up at Houston Ballet 20 minutes further by 5pm, so I would return after. I have mixed feelings about IPIC. I do love it as a bougie movie experience with full service drinks and food with ultra comfortable recliners, however the experience isn't always as high class as you would think, especially given the price tag. The last two times that I have visited, the front desk employees have been less than pleasant during ticket purchase. They were impatient and even a bit rude despite there being no line of customers. The servers in the theaters are also hit or miss on knowledge of the menu. During my last visit, I tried to order a beer on the menu, however it was apparently out of stock. I asked for another similar draft option and the server really struggled to provide a recommendation for another option and ended up pointing out a pretty standard beer that was only in bottle. It wasn't the end of the world but given the fact that there are not a ton of selections, I would have expected a little more comfort navigating through the options. Ok, let's get back to the good. IPIC is pretty cozy to watch a movie with a friend, date, or family member. Guests are able to select their seat and most seats are grouped in pairs of two so no climbing over fifteen people to get the best center view. I also mention this because while you certainly can bring your family, it might be best just to come in a pair. The seat you select is wide, well padded, reclining and most of the time, comes with a blanket for use during the film. Definitely come early to order some appetizers and a drink before the movie starts. Servers take your order directly from your seat and bring your order directly to you. Orders can also be placed during the movie by pressing a button on the center table, just try to keep your voice down so as not to disturb your neighboring guests. Outside the theater there is also a nice bar to hangout either before or after your film. I want to emphasize that I do really like IPIC however with the high price tag, I just expect a little bit better service. Fear not, I'll likely be back but am not opposed to experimenting with other theaters as well. read more

Parking was easy and free and so was the access if you park in the garage off Bettis. The theater was literally right there once you got to the first floor. Seats were nice and clean and you get a blanket. Couldn't get a picture of the food but the small popcorn was generous and the pretzels were baked and crispy and the dips delicious. Sounds crazy to get pretzels because they're usually blah to me but these were so good. Movie screen was clear and the sound was good. Chair was comfortable and I was in a fitted pleather dress with a belt and heeled boots so that should tell you something. read more

The pork belly lettuce wraps were not a good option. It's 3 pre prepared small cups of butter lettuce with too far pork belly. One piece was just fat and it was gross. I love going to this IPIC! My boyfriend is always taking me to see random movies that I have no idea what they are even about half the time but I still very much enjoy myself just due to the experience I get here. The reclining seats and blanket they provide are very comfortable. I also usually enjoy the full meal that I get. This time I got the loaded nachos. They also have a full bar so you can drink as well. It's really nice being served what ever you want from a full food menu while watching a movie. Our server today was so so nice and hospitable. She made me feel very comfortable and taken care of. Like I said just due to the food and drink experience, even if you don't like the movie playing you can still enjoy yourself. It's also in the middle of River Oaks which is such a beautiful area. We walked by a stunning restaurant with a beautiful and bustling patio that we decided to stop into for a drink as well. I had an amazing time here at IPIC! It was my first time and the experience was lovely. When you walk in the ambiance and interior is so beautiful, something that stood out to me was the restaurant and bar area, it had a lot of greenery there. The inside of the theater was not only spacious but the recliner seats were sooooo comfortable. The service was extremely fast and we had a good server. If you plan on booking here i'd suggest coming in a pair or groups of two's because you are sitting close to another person, while sharing a table and pod lol, too intimate to be with a stranger. Now for the food, I believe the prices weren't too high and the overall taste was average but better than other dine in theaters i've went to. We ordered the seasonal thai coconut shrimp which by the way are humongous. They were fried and seasoned great. We also had the Chicken Quesadilla which was just okay, and then last we ordered a kids chicken tenders and fries which had great flavor but was extremely tough so we had to return it. I don't know if the chicken is always tough or maybe just a bad day but the chicken that was used in the quesadillas was also tough so I don't know. Regardless of all that we had an amazing time and will definitely be back. I have to give a shoutout to someone we met on the way out named "Donte" (sorry if i misspelled your name). As a fan of watching movies in PJs and on the couch, I don't frequent movie theaters as much as most but when I do, I'm happy when it's at iPic! Perfect to go with a buddy, because every pair of seats is nestled in their own little alcove. The seats recline and they provide a blanket (bring a hoodie because it's still cold!), so it's almost like being at home but with a big screen and extra loud sounds! There is a shared table for any snacks you order. The food menu spans from cocktails to entrees and desserts, so you could eat a full meal while enjoying a movie-- and the dishes are quite tasty and arrive warm. The fries are nicely seasoned and smashing! The servers have always been friendly and on top of the game. There's a button to press to ask for help. You don't really notice them walking around to help so it doesn't detract from the experience. The common area of the restrooms (sinks) are shared by genders but the actual stalls are segregated. So far, parking has been free-- yay! Tickets have fees that add up on checkout (e.g. "convenience fee"), but for the occasional movie night out, I'll happily pick iPic for the comfort and experience! read more

Oh man, where do I begin? I came here a few days ago when my lady to watch Gladiator 2. We came for the night showing. We got there a little early and, upon request, were quickly directed to the bar. The employees were there on THEIR Christmas Day serving US...with the best food, constant check-ins, refills, etc. Let that sink in for a hot second... Five for comfort. Three for value. With two couples, expect to easily spend a couple of hundred for the evening. Went with family to see Avatar. Easy to make a reservation on the app. Tickets for pod seating is up to $24.50 and no complimentary popcorn or water like when they first opened. The pods are so comfy. The seats recline independently. Each pod holds two movie goers which is perfect for a date night and social distancing especially as the trifecta numbers (flu, RSV and COVID) are rising with the holidays. Curl up and get cozy. Blankets are included. The popcorn is fresh. We also got an order of pretzels with a honey mustard dipping sauce. Their fish and chips has been good in the past. Orders are taken by an attendant and brought to you as you place your order. As far as the movie, the sound and screen were perfect. Sitting a few rows back gives you a great view. Avatar was good. Not as great as the first Avatar, but good. Loved the water scenes in Pandora. So magical. Parking is free. Cute escalator artwork made out of old books. I've been coming here for years, and always loved coming to the theater because it was something like you could get nowhere else in houston, an experience, but for sometime now (after covid hit) it has gone downhill. The blankets smell like they were washed in blue cheese, even whenever the attendant brought "new" blankets. Customer service is a hit or miss, it should always be a hit, especially because of its location. Popcorn, used to be complementary, but now you have to pay for it. No problem, but at least let it be good. The food is a bit pricey but it's all about the experience. On a positive note I love getting the sparkler (grapefruit juice, honey, mint), the fish and chips are good, sweet potato fries are usually good, but they were a little stale. What I did not like, was the crispy tuna rice would never get again, and would never recommend. The restroom could definitely use some TLC. The escalators not working for quite some time now, pretty inconvenient for someone who cannot go up or down an escalator easily. Took myself on a movie date to see "Beetlejuice x2" on Monday 10/21. The theatre was very clean, the waiter in my specific auditorium (#2) was very sweet. I don't remember his name, but he was so nice. Very Attentive. I ordered a strawberry lemondrop with casamigo repo, the crabcake sandwich and a small popcorn. Everything came out very quickly, 1 after the other. Everything also tasted really good. I did ask for sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, and told them when regular fries was brought out. They were wiling to switch it but i said it was fine, i was hungry lol. But it was a good showing. Great service. & good food! read more

This is a great place to go for high end luxury movie watching. The tickets are expensive but you get amazing comfortable seating, blankets, and quick food/drink service. Plus the theaters are small with folks who typically tend to respect the movie watching experience. Make sure to book early because popular showing sell out QUICK! The only downsides are that they don't lean into any quirky/fun opening night shenanigans that other mainstream theaters or Alamo Drafthouse do. Also they have a HUGE parking garage that is shared with many other businesses, so at busy times it can be a little tough finding a spot that isn't on the higher levels. read more

I just checked out IPIC for the first time and really enjoyed it! I will admit, I typically wouldn't spend $25 for a movie ticket but they accept Moviepass, so it felt free to me with my subscription lol. This was my first time at the theater so I had a few questions for the staff and they were SO kind and helpful. I purchased my ticket in the theater but they also have the option to buy online and select your seat in advance. I was blown away by the theater itself, with comfortable seats and a blanket to use because we all know theaters are always cold. The food/drink ordering is easy, with a button at your seat to call over the employee who will take your order. I got the fried mozzarella which came quickly - make sure to note that gratuity is included already in your bill :) Also be mindful that the seats are in buckets of two, so this really wouldn't be a good moviegoing experience outside of solo or duos! Parking is free in the garage which is amazing! It's a very nice part of town and paid parking at theaters is one of my biggest pet peeves. We had not been to IPIC in quite a while. Went to see Click Twice this weekend in studio 8 (seats b5-8). Service was great! Margarita was not memorable. Popcorn was hot fresh. Seats were terrible -- head rest does not work well when reclined. Also the cushions are lumpy. It seems the seats have aged and need some maintenance. I hope they get attention soon. Bad seats ruin the ambiance and overall experience. read more
