My wife had some general ideas of things she had seen in magazines and on TV, but we really didn't know where to start or what steps to take. My main concern was finding/scheduling the right people to do the work, once we decided what we wanted to do. That's when we went to the Indianapolis Home Show and found the Harmony Homes booth and met Marcie. The booth was decorated with the "right" feel that immediately attracted my wife to their vibe. A few weeks after that encounter we were contacted based on our visit with them at the home show. We set up our initial appointment and started the process of defining our project and getting their expertise and advice to guide us through the journey. After meeting with Michelle and Sydney a half dozen times over a few month period the picture started coming into view as they provided renderings and suggestions as to features we might want to include. When they suggested something that we didn't think was the right fit, there were no egos or hurt feelings, they just continued to try find what we were happy with, even though we may have changed our minds several times. As the project continued to take shape it grew as we saw the possibilities and "The Girls" always were eager to go with the flow and accommodate our needs and desires. Once the work physically started on the house the scheduling and workmanship was as smooth as could be. Communication was always open and if we had any questions all we had to do was text or call and they were always available in short order. They provided at least weekly visits on site during the renovation, more if needed. Once the work had completed our renovation consisted of: - Installing / re-finishing hardwood floors in 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, nook and walk-in closets - Installing a porcelain tile floor in the dining room, with a hardwood border - Removing carpet from the stairway and installing hardwood tread and risers and replacing the hand rail and installing Iron balusters. - Painting 7 rooms, walk-in closets and hallways, including a feature/gallery wall in the living room - New rugs in bedrooms and living room. - New window shades in living room, nook, dining room and bedrooms - New furniture in living room and one bedroom. - Adding a new chandelier along with sconces in the living room while moving other light fixtures around. - Adding the special touches to complete the décor and hanging pictures on the gallery wall. "The Girls" from Harmony were always there to help provide furnishings and give advice on other purchases (including furniture) that we made as a part of the process. They scheduled all of the manpower for moving existing furniture, demo, construction and even when that effort extended outside of the house to repair roofing or sealing windows that we found were leaking and causing damage. The professionalism and accommodating approach of "The Girls" at Harmony Homes was all we could have asked for, and we ARE VERY HAPPY with the experience and the result.

A few weeks ago, my wife and I purchased a new home with a walkout basement bedroom and an egress window. My wife claimed the room as her own, but shortly after we moved in, she discovered a wet spot in the carpeting near the window. I didn't know where to turn, so I consulted ChatGPT, which pointed me to Windowman. It turned out to be the best recommendation I could have received. I soon learned that Rance is widely regarded as the foremost expert in egress windows in the entire state. I called the company, and Rance reached out promptly and arranged to come by the next day. I braced myself for the worst -- a high-pressure sales pitch and a bill somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000. But Rance was unlike any contractor I've dealt with. He assessed the problem, and almost immediately told me I didn't need a new window at all -- he could repair the existing one. I was relieved. When I asked when he could do the work, he said he'd return at the end of his day to handle it himself. When I asked about cost, he told me not to worry, and we eventually settled on a price that was almost embarrassingly reasonable. True to his word, Rance returned late on a Friday afternoon and completed the repair in just a few hours. But he didn't stop there. Rather than simply fixing the problem, he had cleaned up the entire area and replaced all the surrounding metal trim, leaving the window looking and functioning like new. When I pointed out that this was far more than we'd agreed to, he said simply that he wanted the window to be as good as new -- so that's what he made it. That kind of pride in one's work is rare, and it's rarer still in the home contracting industry. What happened next is something I have never done in my 79 years: I paid him more than he asked. I couldn't, in good conscience, accept the quality of work I received for what he intended to charge me. Rance and Windowman have my highest and most enthusiastic recommendation. If you have an egress window issue -- or any window issue -- stop searching. You've already found the right person.

The entire process from selection to install went very smooth. Every time we went into the store were always working with a family member of the business. All the sales people I spoke with were very knowledgeable about the various carpets that fit my budget. The sales floor is set up so we could walk on various types of carpet and padding combinations to get an idea of what our selection might feel like to walk on. After we narrowed our selection down to just a couple of styles they even let us take home large samples of carpet to see what it would look like in our home. When it was time for them to come out to measure the owner himself , Chip, came out personally to speak with us. We received the quote the same day by email and were able to narrow down our options from there to fit our budget by working directly with Chip over the phone. We compared the final quote matching the materials exactly with other competitors and found that the price was well under the three other companies that we had chosen to price shop. On the day of install we found out that the installers had been working for the company for a long time. One of the guys said he had been there for over 15 years. The quality of work was very good all of the edges were neatly tucked under the baseboards and you could not find were any of the seams were located. The stairs looked great too as each one of the steps was nailed go give it an upholstered look. When they left they cleaned up after themselves and even vacuumed the carpet for us to get all the fuzzes up. We are very happy we went with Big Dog Flooring and will be using them again when we have hardwood floors installed in our entryway.

Our family had an incredibly disappointing experience with Worthington. I feel it's necessary to…read morewarn other people about this company before they entrust thousands of dollars and their home renovation to this company. We're converting attic space into an additional bedroom and approached Worthington in July in hopes that they might be the right company to bring the project to fruition. They pitched themselves as a white glove service that would handle all aspects and coordination of the project from tip to tail in a timely manner. We were willing to pay a premium for that service which is why we were so alarmed when right off the bat it seemed we had to push to get anything done, even getting an updated contract for a feasibility study took over two weeks. Once we signed the contract and paid for the study it took numerous points of contact and more than two weeks before we were informed when the study would be completed, without even checking with us to see if we were available. In the midst of all this chaos we decided to go with another company that was more proactive and communicative. We informed Worthington that because of all of these difficulties we weren't moving forward with the study and politely requested a refund for the study that was never completed. The designer we worked with was apologetic and agreed that a refund was acceptable given the fact that the study hadn't been completed and her lack of responsiveness. After a week went by without a refund or any communication, we reached out again only to have an extremely rude woman tell us that there will be no refund for the incomplete study and accepted zero responsibility for our disappointing experience. The disrespect she showed our family during this conversation was shocking and has no place in a conversation with any customer. If this is the way Worthington does business, we consider ourselves lucky to have only lost the initial fee instead of paying a massive premium for a lengthy and frustrating home renovation experience.
