I'd recommend anything on their menu and the service is usually nice but sometimes it can be a bit slow at dinner time as the place is usually packed.

The grounds are lovely, and driving through the gates of the stone fortress we've all driven by for years is an experience. The drive up to,the house feels like something out of an old movie. Be sure to follow the signs on the grounds directing you to parking...my maps app wanted to send me to the delivery entrance. Parking is straight up the main driveway and then to the right. There is no sign saying where to go in for the dining room...it is the main door to the house. Since we were there for dinner we weren't able to tour the rooms - the gallery/house other than the dining room is closed in the evening. So.,,if you want to see the house be sure to visit in the afternoon. The dining room is definitely upscale, but seems like business casual clothing is fine. As others have mentioned, the prices of food and beverages is much higher than other nice places in Indianapolis...these are California prices. I had a 6oz glass of wine, grilled shrimp and vegetable salad, fries, and a dessert and the tab was over $100 with tip. You are paying for the location for sure. The food was good; the salad was fresh and a decent portion. The fries were fries, and the butterscotch creme brûlée was creamy with a nicely done topping that cracked correctly. Service was iffy...everyone was nice, but they all seemed really new and trying hard. We felt terrible for one young server who accidentally spilled the tray of drinks for our table dousing herself and soaking one of the people in our group. We didn't want her to feel worse so of course didn't make a big deal about it but...management was pretty dismissive noting the stains would come out of our friend's sweater with Spray and Wash...they didn't offer to clean the sweater or even give her a bag...and she had to ask for a new chair since that was soaked as well...other restaurants would have comped something...they didn't even comp her sparkling water... We did walk around the grounds a bit after dinner and it really is a beautiful property. I think I'll make a trip back during hours the gallery is open and just grab a beverage at the bar.

Jeff Sheats Designs worked closely with me during the construction of my new custom home. Jeff and…read morehis team were invaluable throughout the process. They created detailed construction drawings for lighting and electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, and millwork including a stunning coffered great room ceiling. Furthermore, the team shepherded me through the appalling number of choices to be made whether it was upholstery, window treatments, flooring, bathroom tile, countertops, fixtures, or doorknobs. They actually found lighting (wall sconces, overhead fixtures, and table lamps) that I actually love, not just tolerate. Jeff was also able to deal with my family "stuff"; I come from generations who happily acquired (and kept) furniture, art, oriental rugs, and a multitude of accessories. Needless to say, most of these items needed attention - cleaning, reupholstering, refurbishing, or repairing. Each was sent off to the appropriate craftsman. The team was able to combine my old pieces with new furnishings that complement the old and fit in beautifully. Even the move itself went smoothly, largely due to the capable movers and packers recommended by Jeff, and the fact that all the rooms were meticulously planned prior to the move. Sheats even handled having the art hung and items placed in the display cabinets. Having a design group that "knows people" made everything simpler. And for me, having a designer comfortable with color (and lots of it) has made my new home very warm and welcoming.

He helped with advising me with managing the project and making sure I was happy with the final results. I would definitely consult Jeff again, his expertise, creativity, professionalism and flexibility not only helped me find the right colors, but helped me feel great about the whole project. I've picked out my own paint colors in the past and always regretted doing so. This is an expense that is well worth the investment!

When you go in, they ignore you as if you are not important and they are too busy for you. They are "too busy" to take on projects that they don't want that aren't one note. Their site says they will be glad to work with you on a room up to a full project. We interviewed Heidi to start with a focused project to see if she did well and had range, since most of her designs look exactly the same. They never got back to me. I followed up. Their excuse was that they were too busy to work "on our timeline." We never gave them a timeline. So this told us right up front a lot more about Heidi. She is not direct, is not client centric and really is not concerned with her reputation. We have since found out from talking with several others in Indianapolis who have large design projects, that this company is all about just taking the biggest projects and one same style of design. I mentioned our experience to a friend and prominent, great person in the community, who also had a sizeable project. That person told me they were told the exact same thing, "they were just too busy for their project" telling them no without really discussing how they come up with options. Funny that they just took another large home of someone we know. We will be sure to share our experiences. Don't trust someone who cannot be direct and honest in their business. It's about ego and elite for this company. Building a good, high-integrity reputation in such a small town is everything. We found a much better designer, who's not ego-centric and all about the client and their needs, so it did work out in the end. And we will be recommending her and her great team. Bottom line? If you don't want snooty, wasting your valuable time and energy, they are not for you. There are far better designers out there who really want the business and understand scheduling, plus are more authentic and "real."
