I used The Drain Co. to address my plumbing issues. I used them once before, and again, they did not disappoint. Andy, the plumber, was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He fixed my running toilet, snaked out the main line, and unclogged my bathroom sink, all in a short period of time. Prices were reasonable, and quality of work excellent. I would highly recommend The Drain Co., and specifically Andy, for your future plumbing needs. Thank you so much! read more

Can you say LIFE SAVERS?!?!? OMGosh...from the friendly voice that answers your call, to the follow up call, all the way through the quick and efficient service - The Drain Co. Is amazing!!! My sewer line backed up overnight leaving me a minor flood and I needed service ASAP! They were able to fit me in with same day service- called to let me know the tech was on his way in the early part of the time frame I was given- and the professional service tech was in and out in a flash and the price was super reasonable. I can't recommend them highly enough- I'd throw a 6th STAR on this review if I could. Don't hesitate to use them- customer service like this is rare these days. Thanks again Star and crew!! read more

When it rains it pours! As soon as I hit the airport to leave the country for 2 weeks on a long awaited trip, I received a call from one of my tenants. Of course, this wasn't the only call to me while I was away. Another tenant in another location had a problem, and then another! Who do you call when need someone on site that you can trust? The Drain Co. Star and Raeanna were very helpful in putting me at ease, staying in communication and resolving our issues while we were worlds away. Not only were the technicians prompt, skilled and tidy but everything was so affordable. I'm a client for life. read more

They never called me back even with my notation that I was referred by my friend that recently had them complete work.

We had an issue with our kitchen sink not draining and a friend referred us to The Drain Co. We were glad he did! They were quick to get someone out to the house within a few hours of calling and got the sink drain snaked and back up and operating in no time! Fast, affordable and great service would highly recommend! read more

I called Drain Co around 9 am. I needed my water heater double strapped for an inspection on my house by 2pm the same day. By 11 am the work was done. I could not believe the speed at which they handled my plumbing problem. Thank you Drain Co. read more

Andy came out and fixed our draining issue right away. We were told by a different company that the pipes were bad and the concrete would need to be broken. We called The Drain Co. to get a second opinion. Andy showed up and assessed the situation and fixed the blockage. Two thumbs up for Andy and The Drain Co. read more

MY sink got clogged over Memorial Day weekend so I called The Drain Co. They asked if I could wait until Tuesday so I would not have to pay holiday scale. That was great. Alonzo Jr. Came over and within a very short time, fixed the problem. He showed me why it clogged and told me how prevent it in the future. Now that is great service. The Drain Co. belongs at the top of anyone's list for services and as a trusted referral for friends and family! read more

What a great local business that everyone should support! I spoke with a very friendly woman (I'm guessing the owner Star) who said she could have someone over within the hour. True to her promise, 40 minutes later, George was knocking on my door. I had two issues: 1.) a tiny leak at the base of my toilet, which only required tightening of the screws and 2.) a clogged and leaky sink, which was snaked and fixed within 10 minutes. Not only that, George cleaned up all of the mess and didn't even charge me for the toilet. $55 for the entire visit! I'm still blown away as I type this... With my husband out of town, I was worried about being taken advantage of and being overcharged. Not only were the prices way lower than what I was expecting, there were no sales pitches or upsells. George was very professional and super friendly as well. I'm so glad I found this company on Yelp (and thanks to all of you Yelpers for your recommendation!) I'll be using The Drain Co again and recommending them to everyone I know. read more

I can't say enough good things about Star and her team. The Drain Co. is absolutely great. For years, our main drain would get backed up. I knew the problem, but just never wanted to pull the trigger to get it done. We had roots break through a big junction just before the city drain. Three to four times a year, I would have to destroy a pair of waders to snake the drain. I finally said ENOUGH. I called several companies BEFORE I called Drain Co. and each one gave me a list of "steps" I needed to do. 1st, get hydro-jetting done. Cost around $400 - $1200 depending how long they need to go. We were about 45 ft. So more like $1000.00 2nd, Only after hydro-jetting, run a camera to see the problem. Cost $600.00 and that depended on whether the hydro-jetting got all the gunk out of the way. So now we are at around $1600.00 and "IF" they say we need to sleeve or replace the drain, the average cost would be $5,500 ON TOP of what we would be already paying. So all in all, we would have spent around $7k. It made no difference for me asking straight out to give me an estimate for replacing the drain. I knew what the problem was and it could not be "PATCHED". It needed to be replaced. I kept looking for a company. I came across The Drain Co. They were the ONLY company who came in and listened to what I was saying. The guy who came knew exactly what I was talking about. When I told him what other companies were estimating and what they wanted to do, he knew I did not want the same estimate and even agreed. He said I would have an estimate within 24 hours and I did. In my email the next morning was an estimate that was not only EXACTLY what I wanted, but less than the other companies. The estimate was $4900.00 AND that included a clean-out up front in our yard for our RV at no additional cost. When they came and did the job, I saw the junction where the roots were coming out of. I was right. Star the owner is absolutely incredible as is her team. I can't thank them enough for the awesome job. I wish I would have taken pictures. read more

Fantastic communication and service! Star got back to me with an hourly quote and estimated time to complete within a few hours of submitting a request. They had the best rates and availability just a few days later! The job to replace my kitchen faucet was completed perfectly by Mark and in less time than estimated, making me a very happy customer. Thank you! read more

Rae and Mark are my heroes!!! Something went wrong with the line from the sink to the dishwasher and we had a small flood. They got me scheduled and then called me with an earlier time ("he's on his way now") ... AWESOME!! Mark identified that explained the issue to me, and let me know that he needed to order a part and will be back within 2 days. Later that evening I got a call that he got the part faster than expected and will be back in the morning. FANTASTIC!! Job completed and at an extremely reasonable cost. We are so happy, they are now our one and only goto for any plumbing issues. Thanks guys, I will be telling anyone and everyone!!! read more

I was taking a shower and heard the drain gurgling in the toilet, then the water in the shower would not go down. Treated it with all the chemicals I had and called The Drain Co. They sent Joe who was available right away and he was the nicest plumber ever. Even my German Shepherd loved him. Before he was able to do anything, the drain suddenly cleared and he was so sweet not to charge me. I was very impressed with such quality customer service. I have called The Drain Co for clogs for many years and have always received excellent service at a reasonable cost but this last trip definitely confirmed why I use them over and over. They are the best in the business for clogs! And Star is truly a "super star" owner as well who takes a lot of pride in helping all her customers! These other bad reviews here I believe may be about other companies that have a similar name. It is easy to confuse them but they are in a different city. read more

I'm really, really happy with The Drain Co! Our toilet and tub backed up and after a few days and several attempts at plunging and trying to problem solve the issue, I finally called The Drain Co. Rae was so lovely and sent Alonso out within 3 hours of my call. Turns out what we suspected - tree roots causing a blockage. Alonso was so nice, cleared the roots out quickly and got everything up and running before I knew it. I never thought I'd be so happy to hear the sound of a toilet flushing! A terrific family owned company with skill and heart a plenty. My 95-year-old father had a water main break at his home in Northridge. Star at The Drain Co was truly fantastic to deal with. This is an excellent, trustworthy and reputable company!!! If you have a drain clog or need a snake, I highly suggest this company over any other plumber. Problem now days with most plumbers, or any contractor for that matter is the aggressive and deceptive sales tactics that are practiced by the majority of contractors. Not the case with this company. Straight forward pricing, no upsell, no B.S. This is a genuine 5 star company! I've become skeptical of companies on Yelp, as you'll find companies with a whole bunch of 5 star reviews, and a whole bunch of 1 star reviews (nothing in between). The 5 star reviews seem fabricated, and the 1 star reviews all seem authentic. I suggest all consumers watch for this trend as well. Not the case with this company...again, a genuine 5 star company! read more

They are okay for minor fixes or clogs, which I have used them for in the past and they seem to dispatch help quickly. However, when water is coming from a mystery source, technician did not seem to have the energy, creativity or parts on truck to solve. In an emergency, I spent around $150 to have water turned off AND the technician neglected to put the cover back on the curbside water valve box -- which could have been a disaster for someone if they had stepped in the hole that night. Luckily, I spotted it and put the cover back on. read more

As a Realtor, I use/refer a different plumber every week. I've been ripped off, I've had my clients get ripped off, and I've had my house flips torpedoed with plumbing issues. I've used 10+ different inspectors for sewer line inspections. Here is where every plumber gets it wrong: - price - timeliness - communication At like 9pm on a Sunday night, I texted Star for a sewer line inspection. Not even a large job. She responded right away, used all types of emojis (somehow refreshing for anyone in the construction business), and actually CAME OUT at the time I asked. I threw a random time out there.. They came, they conquered, and they charged fairly. What more could you ask for? For the next project, please have my money. Keeping you on speed dial. read more

This team always has my back. Thank you guys so much. Kent is fantastic and kind. Alonso gets it done. Mark is the man. Star rocks. Rae makes it happen on the phones. Two months ago I called The Drain Company out again to do my normal every six months router job. Recently, I realized that they were in the same business to business bartering group I was in. I had barter money/credit with the "club" and now it was time to use some of it. When The Drain Company found out I was paying with the club money, they DOUBLED my rate. When I called Star about the situation she made excuses and flat out lied about doubling the price. I lost all respect for her. It's bad enough that she's an absentee business owner who when I call her says to call the office. I assume she's too busy to relay messages to her employees. I've always ignored it. Now I'm fed up. I don't like being taken advantage of. Two months after the work,I found the receipt to scan into the computer. There on the invoice was $135 scratched out and then "ITEX $270" written next to it. There are plenty of plumbers who do router work for $60, I don't need this kind of hassle. I'm easy to deal with , I AM A REGULARLY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE CUSTOMER. Being the nice guy that I am, I even called them two days ago and got Vickie in the office. I told her about the past and how frustrated I was, but I was going to give them another chance. See, I read the business cases about customers who stay with companies that wronged them as long as that company made it right. Vickie said she was going to call Star who was out of town (I've never ever heard of her actually working in the office!) and get back to me. It's been two days. No call back. Good bye forever Star and The Drain Company. I've had enough of the BS. read more

Let me make this short and sweet as they say. I've been using The Drain Co. for years now. They've never let me down and their rates are very competitive. One more item that might be important. They are honest! I recently had them over to install a hot water line pump. They could have just done it but instead decided to tell me it could cause damage to my tankless hot water heater and suggested I don't. I took their advice. For me, especially these days, when I find an honest business I stay with them. read more

I have intentionally not read any of the other reviews as I wanted my review to be untainted. We had a plumbing issue that we had already done some preliminary investigations including with an "inside" plumber (sort of a friend of the family). We were told that we needed to have a plumber with the "large snake" machine to go deeper into our plumbing system. Yikes. Always ultra-paranoid about being ripped-off, having padded billing, and knowing that this issue might be milked to the tune of a few to several hundred dollars than the "proper" pricing, we did more investigations to find a sort-of inside plumber, calling friends, etc. No go. So, I had a staff member just "find someone" and be on top of them as to pricing from the get go. I had heard of a competitor of this company and said "perhaps" call them but I heard that they can be "pricey." I needed this work done, however, immediately (kitchen sink backing up dirty water). I was away from the home (my home office, where I do most of my work) and I periodically checked in. My staff had been given the instruction at 8:30 a.m. and by 10:30 a.m., the plumber was already here! Working! And before 11:30 a.m., the job was done!!! Too good to be true. "How much did they charge you," I asked with notable scepticism and worry. "$75." "What??? Did they snake out the property???" "Yes." "With the deep snake that goes way into the pipes???" "Yes." I was already on my way home and I was thinking that either this was a total rip off, or, this company must be a VERY HONEST company. We had called them cold, from the internet, and we were nobody but a passing customer. I sort of raced home, really, with a bit of urgency (hard to believe, but true....). I called my employee again, "Start running the dishwasher.... I want to see if it backs up." "Okay." I called back, "Is the dishwasher running?" "Yes." "Any issue yet?" "No." I arrived home. Dishwasher load finally completed (yesterday) and no issues, including the second real run last night. I asked staff, "where's the receipt - are you sure that it was not $475 or whatever?" There actually was hesitation - perhaps in reality as to why I was so obsessed with this issue. I took it to mean that maybe she paid more than $75 (gave a credit card so perhaps did not pay attention). She showed me the receipt. It was indeed $75. I am a business owner and I see myself as one of these honest ones and I know it can be thankless and it comes from an internal morality, and is not done only for the others as much as some people are just honest, and it is the way we have to be as our own path. This was telling. I have made sure that I put this company on my contacts. They don't know me but I am smart enough (not a genuis) to know a stand-out honest company when I see one and The Drain Co folks, whoever they are, are operated by MY type of folk. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I know that I am ultimately thanking you for NOT ripping me off which is my only hesitation in doing this review but the fact is that I appreciate good people within a sea of unsavory merchants, corporations, and so-called professionals. read more

My plumbing emergency came late on a Sunday night (is there any other time they occur?). I called The Drain Co, they explained that if they came out right then it would be double time, so we made arrangements for them to come first thing Monday morning. Her technician was there right on time the next day. He cleared the problems with our bathtub drain and the back-up that had occurred in our main line. The funny thing was the cost. All day Sunday, I was driving with a friend who listens to KFI. I was inundated with commercials advertising "Any drain cleaned, $99". The lowest I heard was $95. The cost per drain was significantly more reasonable than that, and I really appreciate the great service and excellent price. read more

I called the Drain Co to clear an upstairs shower drain. Not a bit of water had drained through it in hours and hours. I feared tree roots and the costs charged by Rotorooter and Readyrooter. Yelp came to the rescue with many companies rated 5*, but I liked the Drain Co with more than 70 of them. I learned that the Drain Co was a family-owned business since 1969. To me that meant it had plenty of time to earn a reputation, good or bad. Today they earned another 5* rating and future customer for timeliness, competency and honesty. Robert, the Drain Co. tech, told me that tree roots would be unlikely in a second- story shower, and went to work. In less than 10 minutes he and his snake had cleared the blockage (hair balls!). I feared a bill similar to those of the nationally known rooter companies. The Drain Company's bill was $65. What more can you ask! read more

Last night, my parent's had a family dinner/party at their house in Sylmar. This morning, we noticed that the water wasn't draining in both bathrooms. We called several plumbing companies but many of them were closed or unable to come until the next morning. Then we called The Drain Co and everything changed! Kent came out today, and we are extremely pleased with him and today's plumbing services. He arrived within the timeframe he mentioned, and he was able to get the job done quickly. As soon as he walked through the door and saw our plumbing situation, he knew exactly what to do. Once he finished, he sat down with us and told us step-by-step what he did and answered all questions we had. He also gave us some advice on upkeep! Fantastic service. Maybe a smaller group, but they try harder. Called this morning to schedule an appointment and they got here within 3 hours, same day this is really good. Anyway, they remembered us from some 3 years ago and jumped to the issue right away and went to my roof clean out and did the work in about 30mins. They charged a little bit more because of the roof issue, but I previously asked 2 other companies on Yelp with super high ratings and they won't even go on the roof, something about liability insurance. So, The Drain Company will keep my business and I will definitely recommend them to anybody I know that needs plumbing. THANK YOU. read more
