Our order was taken quickly, and came out in a reasonable amount of time. There was a large funeral across the street and apparently the attendees gathered here afterwards because it was pretty busy for a Saturday afternoon. But it was still not too crazy and we were able to have a conversation at a reasonable volume. Lots of TVS playing sports. Some reviews referred to it as a nightclub which seems a stretch. At least in the afternoon it was family friendly.. The espresso martinis were strong and all alcohol. But what I'm used to and not my favorite but we definitely got a nice buzz! The cheese curds were average; the pizza fries were an interesting concept. It would have been nice if the cheese had been melted more. The pepperoni was somewhat spicy. The fries were really good! I truly enjoyed the quinoa bowl. The pork belly was crispy and crunchy and just delectable. It worked well with the quinoa and vegetables. I'd happily eat this regularly. Prices are average. Especially for a hotel, one might even consider them reasonable. It's a good option if you don't want to leave the hotel.

Sadly, it wasn't steak. Just typical sliced beef. Which is still acceptable for the price. Came on a hot plate, which is where the sizzling description comes from. But neither the beef or scallops were seared or fitting the description of sizzling because they loaded the dish up with a cup or two of mushroom sauce. I hate mushroom sauce, and wish their menu offered a description. Couldn't eat any of the dish. Drank my Diet Pepsi , paid my bill and tipped the server. She was a very nice young lady. But I had to eat dinner at the kfc across from the hotel. The food there is cooked fine, but the menu system needs work. If you're going to do an online menu, plenty of ways to add descriptions of the dishes.

Service was good--friendly, helpful, but attentiveness dwindled toward the end of our meal, resulting in drinks running dry. The ambiance is rather lacking--the floors are cement and the ceilings low, so it is LOUD when there are other people in the restaurant, but it the restaurant also makes no pretense of being anything other than a basement burger/beer joint. Everything about this place is fantastic, starting with the food and then moving on to service and ambiance. A Rochester restaurant owner admonished me for being too negative about places here but, when I have really good food somewhere else, I cannot help it. Anyways, though I had breakfast, the lunch specials looked really good, too. You can't beat home cooking. Bottom line, it's too bad this place isn't closer.
