In my subsequent visits to los Arcos, I've seen increasing levels of quality, particularly for the price point. They seem to have taken political television off of their TVs, which is really nice when you're in mixed company. Although the flavor is not quite the level for La Poblana, there are multiple standout dishes. I very HIGHLY recommend the shrimp cocktail either with or without the octopus. This dish is fresh and healthy (not counting sodium level) and truly outstanding. My family has always loved everything that they have had there and my father's food poisoning seems to have been a one off. The drinks made with fresh fruit purée are outstanding. A good mid-level Mexican restaurant for those who live in Rochester or those who are visiting the Mayo Clinic for healthcare. read more

We stopped here for a quick supper and were really disappointed. We started by ordering an appetizer (nachos supreme) and a side of queso. We ran out of chips for our queso and had to literally track someone down to get more. The appetizer was not that appealing, unless you like soggy over microwaved nacho chips, so we decided to stop there and not even order a main course. Ordered takeout, it took over five minutes to place the order and they just couldn't seem to "get it". Therefore I checked the order when I arrived and it was wrong. I discussed and they ARGUED WITH ME. I said, I'm short a meal, who's eating cereal tonight? They insisted they were right, even though the food clearly wasn't there. Mama ate cereal. I was charged for a meal I didn't get and they know it. GREEDY. And what takes the cake is I had already tipped for the crappy service. DONT TRUST TAKEOUT. Had good food when dining in. Mostly I just feel ripped off. Stopped by to grab chips and salsa and was charged over $10 for a "large salsa" Even the large queso is only $8. I could justify it if it was an actual large amount of salsa, but it's not. I'm not sure if they ran out of the large containers or what because they included a smaller container that also has salsa in it. The last time we ate inside it wasn't that great either. Waitress never checked back Another waiter stopped by and asked how everything was. I told him he said he could make another plate but by this time the person I was having lunch with was almost done. So I said no thanks. Only ate some of the beans and rice but got charged for the food. He even asked me if I wanted a box to go. No, why would I? A Mexican restaurant. in Rochester with an extensive menu. How can 4 large pages of a different dishes on a menu all be good? The fact is they aren't all going to be. I chose Enchiladas Suizas. My friend ordered the Chicken Quesadilla. We were given a delicious black bean dip and terrific salsa which we polished off with gusto! Our waiter was wonderful, attentive and friendly. The restaurant is good sized, clean, great atmosphere and located just off Hwy 52 so very easy for out of town visitors. We were served both dishes in about 20 minutes... not a good sign. I once ate at a Don Pablo's in Roseville, MN. My food was hot on the outside & frozen at the center. When I asked how that could happen the waiter said they place what you order on s plate sprinkle with cheese and run it under a conveyor belt. There were 2 slices of barely melted Swiss cheese laying on top of a molten mass of something creamy and oily. I took a bite and that was it. Gross. My friend loved her quesadilla. I would say this place is hit or miss. The unmelted cheese was my path to a refund. I didn't want to reorder due to our schedules. Safe to say I won't revisit. Recently had lunch on a Saturday and had pleasant dining experience. I have eaten at Los Arcos North and find the food to be nothing special. However, the lunch we had South was delicious! My lunch mate ordered the beef Puff Taco and was able to take some home for a second meal. I ordered the Quesabirria and it was fantastic (enough for a second meal). The flavor of the beef was great. It came with rice and I found that to be dry. I'm not a Mexican rice fan anyway and will request the green salad or refried beans in the future. The bean dip is awesome with the chips. Our party of 8 visited on 8/21. We came based on great reviews and were not disappointed!! I don't remember our server's name, but he was the ULTIMATE professional. One of the best I've ever had. He would remember us for an awkward conversation about pepper infused tequila that he handled like a PRO. We had a high maintenance birthday gal and not only did he roll with everything, he left us all talking about how amazing he was. If possible, the food was even better than the service! Talk about a great place to go!! We first came here when they opened and have been coming back ever since. I have seen a couple reviews that state "it's very/super expensive". However, compared to other restaurants of this type and their prices, the burritos are $2-3 more than the competition, but the quality of the food is well above!! I will say though, that this is a place that you must eat at. When restaurants were restricted to carry out only, we did try and was rather disappointed. BUT, now that you can dine in again, the food is once again excellent. Tonight was a great night to go. We've never had any issues prior to this evening and the staff is always on top of things. Tonight, it was the busiest we'd seen in since 2019, which is excellent for their business. However, the wait was 45-60 mins (which was worth the wait) and after we finally sat down, we were given the "bad news". Our waiter said that they had been super busy since around 12-1pm that afternoon (current time 8:30pm). Due to the craziness of they day, they had no more chips. They had run out and were only able to make a certain amount more because they also had to catch up on rice, beans, and meat. So, the kitchen staff was on overload. But, much to our surprise, they did bring a half basket of chips and apologized. Our drink and main courses were really fast and the staff was amazing as usual. Typically, with all the hiccups from the experience, this would be a 3-4 star review. However, the communication from the staff on what was happening as well as the fact that they continued to go above and beyond for the consumer, as well as being able to keep up with massive amounts of orders even though they were in short supply; spoke volumes about how the business is being run. This place is going down the tubes. There were 8 people standing around. We have been in here for over a 1/2 hour. Only, have had one drink, Place is not even busy, they never asked if they could refill our chips and salsa and never bought us a menu until we asked. Verr disappointed in this place, and we've been here many times. When we asked for things it felt like they were being put out.... Management needs to step in and figure this out. My gosh this place is yummy! Is right by the Rochester airport (there may be other locations too) and I highly recommend them if you're in the mood for Mexican. When we arrived, we were given a pager and told it would be 30-40 minute wait. We had a space near the entrance and I was in awe of how the greeters kept moving people through. So we waited, and waited. Eventually I noticed that the group of people waiting had shrunk to nearly nothing. Another group asked how much longer the wait would be, and we joined in in asking. Neither of us were on the list. I remember them writing our name on a list but somehow we got erased. I'm willing to guess it was another party who turned in their pager and said they wouldn't wait, but somehow it was us that got erased off the list. No longer in awe of the greeters. We were there and visible--common sense dictates that staff would follow up with us before we followed up with them. That's what customer service is all about, right? Anyway, the other party suggested free beer for the wait--and I tend to agree. Something should have been comped. I used to visit this establishment regularly before it underwent a change. Whenever I fly to or from Rochester, it is my preferred spot for drinks and a quick meal before or after a flight. I particularly appreciate their really cold beer, which is one of the highlights for me. I do feel nostalgic about the old restaurant and the conversations I had with the friendly bartenders. The Mexican place, however, can be inconsistent with its service. It doesn't quite compare to the old establishment. read more

We were excited to hear about a new Mexican restaurant, and that it had decent reviews. Let's talk about the location vs quality of the food - I don't think it's worth the drive if you're not already down south. The quality of the food was about a 3.5 stars, which is what I would have given them had I been able to give half stars. Maybe if it was a 5 min drive, it would be more worth it The price vs the quality - we got 3 enchiladas and rice combo for ~$12 and steak/chicken/shrimp fajitas that came with rice/beans for ~$19. Kind of standard pricing so the price is fair, but the quality didn't match. 1) there was more chicken in the fajitas than steak or shrimp 2) the shrimp and chicken were both overcooked 3) the steak was good though, but in most places steak is the safest bet. 4) I'm almost certain they use box rice 5) the cheese on the enchiladas was very strange - sliced cheese? really? 6) I wasn't a fan of their corn tortilla, I didn't really care for the texture 7) their poblano creamy sauce was good, kind of like a thicker tomatillo sauce Ultimately, I didn't want to give them a 3, but I didn't think they were 4 stars. So until some things change, I'm giving them 3 stars...since they were just okay. I would like to try more dishes from here, but it really is out of the way for those of us who live up north. Don't get me wrong, I will drive for food, but it has to be drive worthy. For another 15-20 mins I might as well drive to Austin for some really good food. I'll have to think about it if I do go back. It was worth a try though, but my thoughts were really that it was just average. Honestly, horrendous experience. Past experiences weren't so bad, but today was unacceptable. Placed an order to go because I knew it would be crazy on Cinco de Mayo, was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. Got there 30-35 minutes after that. Was told the order would be out in a minute. 20 minutes later they finally brought it out and admitted there was a "miscommunication" and they never actually made the order. When I asked if there was something they could do for the mistake/trouble (like a small dessert or chips and salsa) I was told that I could get a refund of my order. Order with chicken and received beef; 1 party did not receive her sides - never did come; and they forgot the food for one person. this was a Thursday evening and not over busy.
