We just moved here from Southern Missouri and Sweets restaurant had some of the best food I've had in this area very close to fine dining at an affordable price! The cooks or chefs you can tell put a lot of love into what they do! And the service and setting will bring us back for more! Must have had an off night. Went there for my birthday but the food was just mediocre. I sent the augratin potatoes back (I never do this) but they were presented in a not very appetizing starchy glob and lukewarm. The shrimp was a little tough, too. Waitress was nice and accommodating but we should have requested sitting in the front part of the restaurant away from all the distraction of the chatter among the staff and bar patrons and TV. I had breakfast for the first time. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic aside from what is normally my favorite part of breakfast. The hash browns were very lightly golden brown and not crisp. Not a big deal but they tasted like old cooking oil and not buttery. Lose the overcooked oil taste and you've got something. read more

Super friendly staff, charming and comfortable rooms, good bar and restaurant service and food. Really enjoyed the all you can eat fish & chips one evening and all you can eat prime rib the next. Quaint sitting areas on 2nd and 3rd floors. For a building built in 1898 it's remarkable comfortable. One of the kitchen workers even carried our bags up the two flights of stairs to our 3rd floor rooms - no elevator. They were very accommodating of our late (after 9pm) arrival. This was my 2nd time staying at Sweet's and I'd stay there again if I'm back in the area. Oh, nightly rates are great and breakfast prices are unbelievably reasonable. read more

We stayed one night at Sweets..in the Old Town Suite also ate at the restaurant. Service was wonderful, food and people were great. We spent 3 days exploring Southern Minnesota and this was a lovely place to spend some time. the owners have made this hotel a real old fashioned "go-to" spot. read more

Good food, super friendly staff, and nice atmosphere! I haven't had the prime rib-just not a big fan, so I can't comment. The restaurant/bar is setup within the hotel...that is rumored to be haunted....muhahaha. I usually go with the jalapeno burger or some variation and onion rings, but I am sold on the Friday Fish Fry. Very good-crisp and always good and hot. These guys also hustle out the orders quickly. The only real downside is there is no dessert menu. I recommend Sweets highly! read more

This is a good place, but probably will never be in my hall of fame for restaurants. Food is generally good, although my wife would disagree on the ribs, which were tough. You won't gasp at the prices, but they aren't cheap. Probably the biggest complaint I have is that the place can be noisy and it can be a hodge-podge of congestion as wait staff often has to cross through clusters of guests waiting to be seated. There just has to be a better workflow. I would return, but I am not on the edge of my seat waiting until that time. read more

Found this little gem on a side trip. It was great and the staff could not have been friendlier. We had the all you can eat prime rib and it was amazing. The soup, salad bar, baked potato and veggies with it were great as well. I would highly recommend going here on a Saturday night for the prime rib. They were short a cook and were still turning out food in good time. read more

They say good things come in small packages, and it is true of Sweets. LeRoy is small by most standards, but Sweets is big on food! They are consistently good breakfast, lunch or dinner. My husband andI ride the Shooting Star Bike Trail and never miss a chance to dine her! The prices are reasonable, portions almost too large and food delicious! You will never have a better chicken wild rice soup ANYWHERE!! ( sorry Grandma). They serve a basic breakfast which is, for a lack of a better term, cheap. Great sandwiches for lunch. Dinner is where they shine! I love their herbed chicken breast on Alfredo fettuccine. Hubby always goes for their honey crusted fried chicken. If you are a prime rib lover, make a reservation for Saturday night- you'll need one! All you can eat prime rib with soup and salad bar, choice of potato, fresh veggie and rolls. Judging from the number of people lining up to pay $23.99, it's good. The dinner menu is deep and everything is done very well. Come as you are, it's pretty kicked back. I had the all you can eat prime rib. The first piece was delicious, thick and cooked to perfection. The pieces there after were only 1/4-1/2" thick and not nearly the same quality. It was a real disappointment, a total cop out on all you can eat. Salad bar is plain lettuce with salad dressing, not impressed by that. read more

Arrived at 6:45 pm. Did not get seated until 8:05 pm. They had run out of prime rib, buns, potato salad. We placed our order at 8:30 and did not receive our food until 15 minutes past 9. Been there many times and the food and service always top of the line. This past Friday we stopped and greeted as always. Young man took our drink order and then our food order. The food came to the table the same time we come from the salad bar. Food was microwave hot and could tell it was sitting in the kitchen for some time - total turn off. read more
