I liked the food here at The Don's Deli in a small strip mall with other restaurants. The falafel salad was good but wish there were a few more falafels. (4 included) The sweet potato fries were crispy and not soggy. The Nola sando was good too. Mac and cheese was nice and creamy after mixed. Ordered online and picked up. This is solely on service as I did not end up getting my sandwich. Service was horrible. Old dude with heavy accent was extremely rude. Offered no help. I tried to explain I ordered for the first time with them. Kid at the register was explaining that they were having technical difficulties. Ok fine. I get it! Before I could get a word in as to should I order from them in person again and if grub hub or whoever will give me my money back because I was unfamiliar with the process. I could have ordered there no problem just wanted peace of mind that I would get refunded with the first order. The older man with accent cut me off. Said I wasn't going to get the sandwich because they didn't receive my order. He was extremely rude. I understood half of whatever else he was saying. My mind was boggled by his tone and demeanor. Just had a 1/2 dirty bird sandwich on sourdough and potato salad combo. I'm beyond impressed with the combination of flavors, quality ingredients, seasoning was very well done! I used to work at a deli/ grill resturant and I'm usually very picky with sandwiches. I appreciate how they have a creative menu that is cohesive with good ingredient combinations. I could tell the sourdough they used was high quality. I had my lunch to-go, but inside was clean and modern with tasteful esthetics. An ideal spot for a quick lunch. The potato salad was seasoned very well, and I appreciate the tender bites of potato. You can tell it was made in house and the flavors were nicely balanced. I'm always looking for a good sandwich. This place took over the old Subway that was here. Just happen to be driving by and we decided to come for lunch. They just opened 3 days ago and the employees were super friendly and offered suggestions and sides of different sauces to try with our sandwich, so kudos to an awesome staff! When we walked in, I could smell the fresh bread being baked and it didn't take long to get my sandwich. Super hit, super fresh and super tasty. I normally don't care for avocado in sandwiches, but I made an exception with this one. The cream cheese on my dirty bird was also a pleasant surprise as it mixed well with all the other ingredients. Wanted to step outside of the house during shelter-in-place to grab some sandwiches & more since all we had at home were pre-sliced wheat bread, turkey deli, lettuce & mustard lol I like spicy so I ordered the hot chicken sandwich on Dutch crunch without onions, tomato & pepper jack (but I should've left the cheese on there) with a side of fries and spicy ranch. This sandwich is the best quality and value. I got the California which is my go-to type of sandwich (Turkey Bacon Avo on Dutch Crunch). The sandwich was a good size. Not too big so the roof of my mouth doesn't hurt after eating a Dutch crunch sandwich but not too small either. I came 30 minutes before it opened not reading the sign and they kindly took care of me. These sandwiches also come with generous sauces that you can try. Get the chipotle mayo and cilantro lime ranch. It will make you come back for another sandwich and bragging to your friends that you paid less $15 for a delicious sandwich in Mountain View. I wish I tipped because it was so good and the staff was so nice. When I left they even said Bye Rose! Usually people don't remember your name the second you say it unless they are really trying. Oh wow, my husband and I finally got to stop by The Don's Deli and I must say it is spectacular. So yummy the sandwich we got and yes we got cookies. The sandwich we split is the Dirty Bird on Dutch crunch bread with a small side of pesto. The cookies we got were white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and we got a peanut butter cookie as well. Everyone working there was so helpful and nice. Why we even got a free cookie. . I am such an advocate for eating and shopping local that I must say "Stop on by and keep our local businesses open". My coworker spotted the menu. More specifically the dirty bird. This caused us to enter the store. The staff is super friendly. I asked what was their most popular sandwiches and it appeared many were popular. I decided to go with the dirty bird on dutch crunch. My friend got the hot chicken sandwich on dutch crunch. We waited a few extra minutes for the bread to be done; the wait wasn't very long at all. So worth the wait. The sandwich I had was delicious. It was big for my appetite so I ended up eating half of it for lunch and saved the other half for dinner. The amount of turkey in my sandwich was large. The cashier offered a free cookie at checkout. I got the red velvet cookie and I enjoyed it. They also have a rewards program as well. All you have to do is enter your phone number and you are good to go. I passed by this place a few times but it's pretty unassuming so nothing ever drew me to it. I finally decided to get it one day because I needed a quick lunch and I'm so glad I did. It's delicious! I got the Dirty Bird on Dutch Crunch bread and I highly recommend it. This comes with cream cheese which you may be hesitant about, but try it! The cream cheese offers such a nice, mild creaminess to the sandwich and doesn't cover the flavor of all the other sauces that it comes with. You get a good amount of meat and the vegetables are really fresh. I can't wait to go back to try other things. Their sauces are all delicious. There was this creamy basil green sauce that is amazing - try asking for a side of that. The workers here are also really friendly. Delicious taste, horribly put together. To me a sandwich not only must have the taste but as much as possible be able to be eaten without worrying to much about wearing it, luckily i was able to avoid getting thing on myself. I ordered the spicy chicken on asiago and brother ordered the same on dutch crunch. we added jalapenos. we drove home and as we opened it we saw red sauce on the sides of the wrapper. so we opened it slowly on our dining table, incase it got everywhere... it was cut in half so we switch to try the different breads. I tried the asiago first and it was very good however the first bite into it it, the filling started to move... half way through im trying to figure out how to avoid it falling out. my brothers turned into a bread bowl, as it just broke apart on him. all in all it was tasty and will go back for another run to see if that's just how their sandwiches are, as it is a important thing to keep in mind when on a lunch hour or don't want to wear your lunch. read more

Whoo HOO! They make the cubano - which is one of my favorite sandwiches - and it was definitely a big hit with hubby and myself. I'm not an expert on them - other than knowing what I like and I do compare it to Porto's in LA - and Don's is super close... The big difference for me is they put a lot more ham than I'm used to - so I actually pulled some out - but the soft roll that they press - along with the cheese and pickles and that mustard - everything worked together... Though next time I'm going to ask for more pickles - need those pickles as part of the cubano!! So it's a great way to get my cubano fix without having to wait till I go to LA... We also tried the rueben which was absolutely delicious - especially as it's on RYE and PRESSED... I did wish they put more sauerkraut but all in all - so good... Their service was friendly and fast. And we also tried their minestrone soup - I will say I was a little disappointed in the soup - had more soup and not many veggies - the flavors were there but I think of minestrone with a ton of the veggies so that was a bit disappointing. Definitely now one of our "to go to" sandwich shops. Unfortunately we came when it was hard to find parking but when we left there was plenty - so I would suggest waiting as people will come and go...
