Adam Carolla put on a solid show, but the venue experience completely ruined the night. The customer service at Midtown Ballroom was terrible--staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and came across as outright rude any time guests asked simple questions or needed directions. Between the attitude of the employees and the way issues were handled, there is zero desire to ever purchase tickets for an event at this venue again. Love Carolla, but prefered Las Vegas Venue. Would not recommend this experience in Bend, unless another venue. I am resident in Bend. Highly disappointed. read more

Others dis this joint for being exactly what anyone writes every been to a dive bar to see a punk show in a big city would expect- it's ain't swank. It's dark It's loud It's gritty I had to tour the bathrooms to see if they were as bad as rumored and no- they are not even as bad as The average gas station facilities and are galaxies better than CBGBs or Whiskey a GoGo or any other club bathroom I've endured. Equal opportunity- 2 up in the admittedly junky bar, & 2 downstairs for the youngsters. Not enough- I agree. The sound was not great- but the tickets were reasonable- not scammers, this is a music club run by people who do Bend the service of having live music- I appreciate you! read more

I was looking for the Yelp page for Midtown Ballroom (it was there yesterday) to leave a review but it's not here now. I found this one for the Domino Room (I do not know the difference) but it was where Adam Corolla had his show last night. I had read in advance about the women's restrooms so I made it a point not to drink or eat anything for the two hours I was there. I thought it was fun- I didn't get frisked, I didn't observe rude people, just a lot of nice people having fun. My husband went to the bar and had no comment; and to the bathroom- which he said was just like any other divey bar. I have been to my share of hole in the walls for small concerts so maybe my sensitivity is not as elevated as those who are complaining. TBH, nothing people reviewed negatively about came to fruition for me and the hubs. It was a great show- loved Adam and the other two comics. Also, Jim (the owner) answered an email I had about the venue right away prior to the show so I could be prepared. Thank you for hosting him! read more

The last few shows I've gone to at Midtown Ballroom I've left astonished and not in a good way. The bathrooms are disgusting, it's not that hard to go and purchase and new toilet and install it in the women's restroom, home depot has them for $100...it's definitely been over 3 months it's time to fix the damn thing! There is no lid on the clean water intake holding tank. The flushing mechanism and lid haven't been replaced and customers have to stick their hand into the basin to flush it! THERE IS A DIRTY PRINTED SIGN ABOVE THE TOILET INDICATING SO! Wtf! I REALLY MEAN WITH THE ACTUAL "BLEEP". This venue is so broken and duct tape isn't going to fix it. ADA, forget about it. This place is not accomidating. Entering the venue, is a crammed bottleneck. At show time, a handicapped individual, especially wheelchair bound, would have difficulty using the facilities, let alone have a place to enjoy any show. Of course the person reading this going to say something about the outhouses on the smoking deck, but those are always nasty and full! Not to mention that entire mud pit you have to stand in to use the things...again ada? Other concert goers are becoming increasingly unfriendly, especially since the bar has over served them. Since they're over served, the picking of fights has definitely increased. Someone tried to pick a fight over another moving closer to the stage and then a huge yelling match ensued and drinks were tossed. The security did nothing. I've seen this happen every time I've gone to a show there. The wires cover that runs across the dance floor are a physical hazard to any concert goer. I've witnessed several people fall to the ground and this last time, I tripped. Even though I shook it off, at the end of the night, I left with two new bruises on my knees and a sore wrist. What would it take to have a lay line cut in the concrete and grate cover installed? The amount of shows and income going through this place it should have been updated 20 years ago! It's such a rundown dump. The acoustics are so bad that the music just get blown out and muddled. The pits in the concrete floor are another tripping hazard. It's really unfortunate that there isn't a better venue this size in Bend. Midtown has the 'monopoly' on the "larger" midweek music and it sucks. Definitely on the DON'T GO TO Midtown Ballroom in Bend, Or wagon. The place is SHIT! Ticket prices are not worth it! Save your money. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible sound! We were shocked by how empty the place was with a headliner like I Prevail. One of our favorite bands and the sound was so muddled and mashed together, there were times we couldn't even figure out what song they were playing. We could not hear the lead singer at all! This place sucks. We bought tickets for an Abba dj and the dj never showed up and the venue basically told us f*ck off. We were asking if we could get a refund when we realized no dj was coming and they were telling us to "get the f*ck out or go enjoy the show". The show was them playing a playlist that was on repeat. I get stuff happens but everyone at the venue was pretty rude, especially the owners son Mike who was working there. They tried to tell us the dj sent them a playlist so it was the same thing.... Definitely wouldn't go back here and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Pretty dirty spot and the owner sucks. read more

Do not visit this venue expecting to hear the musical act, unless it is all bass frequencies. I flew in from Los Angeles and attended the Lindsay Lou/Kitchen Dwellers show, front row, center on 2023-02-14. It was appalling. If I were that band, I'd be furious. They put on a near four hour performance and it was drowned out by the fundamentals on the 5-string upright bass. I even made a message on my phone screen for the front of house saying, "THE SUBS ARE DROWNING OUT EVERYTHING". They apparently didn't see fit to make any changes to the terrible, boomy racket. These days, there is ZERO excuse for this - when a sound guy can pick up an iPad and walk around the venue to make corrections. On top of that, this band didn't need any subwoofers at all. The sound would've been way better without them. Clubs like this who buy these huge subs and then turn them up all the way like a bunch of morons are completely missing the point of a live venue. It's to hear music and not a giant bag of shite festival of 90% earthquake frequencies drowning out everything else. I see other reviews reflecting this same issue. To the venue, if you happen to read this review: What the hell are you guys doing? Additionally, the existing pa system has a terrible weak center. The whole setup needs to be addressed by competent professionals. This venue is a disservice to any artist who performs there. Horrible sound system, absolutely filthy, and probably only enjoyable if you are completely hammered. The women's bathroom is a biohazard and to flush the toilet there was a sign saying you had to put your hand INSIDE the back of the toilet because the flusher was broken. They packed the room way too full so that there was hardly any room to stand. Plus if you're on the shorter side, you won't see the show anyway. Our tickets said the show went from 8:30-10, but the headliner didn't come on until 10:20. Bend would be better off if this place burned to the ground, which it likely will given how bad of condition the building is in. The only positive is that I learned to research the venue before buying tickets to see bands I like. Never again will I see an artist in this hell hole no matter how great they are. read more

This place is GREAT for a punk show! Went to Bend to see Strung Out and Pennywise. This was an all ages show, but they had the 21 and over crowd up in front of the stage. This is not the case at many of the venues in Portland. In hate when they make the drinkers stand all the way in the back or off to the side. I pre-gamed sufficiently before the show so I didn't actually order anything at the venue. This place was small enough to feel intimate. The sound was great and a good time was had by all. read more

First time tonight. Staff is rude and don't give a shit. Ordered gin and tonic at bar and it was gross. The tonic tasted flat. Went back to bar to ask about the flat tonic. He took a different tonic spout and poured it in a cup and tasted it said. "It's fine". That's all. Bathrooms are GROSS. Haven't cleaned toilet bowl in weeks with the dark ring in the bowl. And the bathroom stunk. Just a run down place with a bunch of guys running it that just grunt at you. read more

The DJ for the show never showed up and instead of offering a refund the venue acted like he was gonna come and put a fake DJ up at one point. The DJ never showed and they put on a Spotify playlist instead. when my friends and I asked for a refund, the owners son told us if we didn't like the show we can f-ing leave. I have never had an experience like this at a venue and can't believe that they did not at the very least acknowledge or apologize for the DJ not being there. The show was horrible and the people working there were incredibly rude. my friend was assaulted by one of the security guards when he asked to speak to the owner and was thrown on the street. not only did midtown ballroom literally kick me out with large ass security guards last night, they wouldn't let me even getmy jacket or my purse. I asked them several times and they said 'oh I gave it to the guy you were with. call him' I said ' which guy did you give my belongings to? my phone is in my purse, I can't call anyone unless I can get my purse' they said ' hahahaha! sucks for you! sounds like whoever you were with doesn't give a shit about you!' another high-five then 'it must be cold, ha?' literally they left me outside to freeze, and then the 5 security guards stood around laughing at me as I was just asking if I could please get my purse so I could call an Uber. and then another one said 'I wonder if anyone will notice if she freezes to death' the security guards- 4 grown men- sat there and laughed while I was crying and shivering. One even called me a 'trashy whore' and then they high fived some more and then another said 'I bet she gets hypothermia because her boyfriend has her jacket and you know he doesnt care about her' Luckily a person working at the bar across the street helped me call the only phone number I had on the top of my head, my dad, who is in his 70s, to come pick me up. Do not support this venue unless your a misogynist asshole. They are the worst humans on earth. read more

Domino room gets some good acts that come through the bend area and it's a pretty middle of the road venue. It definitely has a lot of potential with a little love. Overall, the quality of sound works well for the shows and it's not impossible to get a beer, both of which are important for a decent concert going experience. read more

We went to the Whitey Morgan show. A guy that was not up front pushed his way thru right at the start of the headliner. Like 6'5 225 big dude his friends followed also not small. He proceeds to hit on a married women in our group. Well the husband told him to mind his business and watch the show. Lights went out for the headliner show, music started and that ass punched the husband in the face. I threw my beer down to stop his group of people pushin up front to not attack us- and was bulldozed the "bouncer" picked ME up and tossed me to the back of the facility. Then stood by me while the fight continued. I have a clotted disorder was majorly bruised all around my waist and ribs and had to worry about superficial clotting for weeks. They should really consider broad spectrums. Anyway. The muscle head did not get kicked out nor our party. And we stayed back where they placed me. Fat lips, bruised, women getting punched by men. The muscle guys continued to harass and stare all night we just did what we. Came to do. Sing dance and have fun. F$&@ um but...... they followed us out. So it continued. No staff ever got involved after tossing me out of the crowd. When I arrived early to be up front. We had people visiting from Montana and Washington. And where they placed us I couldn't see the damn band the lights blind you. Won't be back. Sad but I'll drive to Portland read more

I've tried this venue twice now, and just no. It's beyond crowded & both times completely oversold. There's literally no room to ever even move let alone dance. You get bottle necked in & squished closer & closer to people. With one tiny way in & out it's overwhelming. I can not understand why they don't just put all shows in the next room over. It's like they don't really know the acts they bring in and that people want to be able to dance. The show I went to last night, the band also posted to their Instagram that the green room got robbed & a ton was stolen, how sad. I was having a hard time trying to come up with words to describe the hell hole that is Domino Room until I read Kali B's review. A PERFECT description: a disheveled bomb shelter Upon arrival I too looked everywhere for the Will Call area that it clearly says to pick your tickets up at. This so called area is inside the building where everyone else buys their tickets, it is called the entrance.... The place was over crowded and dirty. The upstairs (for 21+) was too packed for the weight capacity of the ply wood floors we were standing on. If it wasn't for the mold on the floor I think we all would have fallen through. While I was there I kept looking around and thinking "How is this place even open, there HAS to be at least 20 Health and Building codes they are not following!" Which brings me to the bathrooms... Oh My Lordy Lanta! To save you the mental picture that is now embedded in my brain forever I will just say this one thing: Do not drink a single thing at least two hour prior to arriving and continue that until you exit the building. I'm pretty sure I got Hepatitis and the Clap from being in that bathroom for 3 minutes! If you do make the mistake of drinking please do it in the parking lot or at home because the beverages are BEYOND stupid prices. A PBR and Corona were $8.00! For Eight Dollars I could have bought two six packs of PBR! I'm glad they kept the lights dimmed because I had NO desire to see what I was standing in or around. I even kept looking down at my feet thinking I would see roaches or rats crawling around. I'm not really sure why the Domino Room is the venue that all these artists go to. Why in the world has Bend not built a better place for shows? Plus side, we saw G Love and he was amazing! read more

Went here to see Aaron Watson a couple weeks back. This place is old, dirty, and rundown, and I'm guessing would burn quick. About 200 people there, one restroom for each sex, two stalls in each! The women had a huge line. Will never see a show there again unless they do a major remodel. read more

Its not the classiest place in town, but I always have a great time! The bands are fun, play later than anywhere else you're going to go and have PBR aplenty, and thats really all I need. People that are giving this place 1 star reviews need to get a grip. read more

Least favorite venue I've been to in Oregon. Drove from Eugene to Bend to see Claypool - Lennon on 06/29. The place was basically a roller rink that has been half converted to a concert venue. It had no bathrooms inside, you had to go outside into a fenced area where there were porta-potties (is this even legal)? The house sound system was underpowered and was clearly struggling to keep up with the band. Will think long and hard before returning here to see another show. read more

Yes, the restrooms are nasty and $200 and a few hours would improve them greatly. That said, it's no different than a dozen cool music venues in Portland. The restrooms always suck in places like this. Yes, it baffles me they don't take an afternoon and fix them up. As a dude, I can deal with it. For the ladies.......it can't be fun. Just use the hover technique and get back to the show, I guess. It is what it is. I think it's a cool space. The sound system is good. The guy running the board spent a little too much time on his phone and I thought the vocals were buried a bit in the mix. But that is par for the course. It's expensive to get a really good sound person to run a board. Get over yourselves. Yo Yo Ma is not going to play this venue and this venue is not for that. It's a rock/punk/hip hop house that isn't trying to be anything it's not. read more

I agree with the previous post. This place is awful. Awful. My friend bought tickets to a Mickey Avalon show. Please, please don't judge me for the "talent" we went to see that night. My friend didn't know I wasn't a fan of Mickey Avalon, but I went along any how because my friend had already bought the tickets. Upon our arrival, we noticed a line out the door. We had already purchased tickets on the phone so we looked for a will call line. Well, it turns out there wasn't a will call line. Turns out the show was oversold and the line of people out the door were also ticket purchased patrons. After 20 minutes of arguing with the "bouncer" my friend decided to use other means to gain access to the show. With the power of female persuasion, my friend got myself and six other people in the door (two of which hadn't even purchased a ticket). This place brought me back to 1995 going to sh*ty shows in the slums of ghetto downtown San Diego. Not sure how you can charge $20 a ticket for a place that looks like a disheveled bomb shelter. Disgusting. Turns out there are only 2 single stall bathrooms in the entire establishment. One downstairs in the all ages area which turned into a port o potty and one up stairs. NASTY!!! Upstairs in the 21 -up room I felt if one more person was allowed up there, the whole floor would cave and it would turn into a disastrous White Snakes repeat. Sound quality was pathetic. The "talent" didn't end up coming on stage until 12:30. So we were stuck in hell from beginning to end. Not worth paying money to see anyone there. Good luck finding a safe place to stand, a safe place to go to the bathroom and a place where you can actually hear the band. PATHETIC!!!! read more

The worst venue I have ever been to. The people who own this should be ashamed. There has been no maintenance done on this place in years. The floor is torn up and dangerous. There are no clear isles for people to leave. There are only two stalls and one bathroom for way too many people. It's disgusting. People puke on the floor because they cannot get to the bathroom. Sound is not good and unless you have squeezed into the front or are very tall, you can't see the stage. I'm embarrassed that Bend has such a dive. read more
