So many types of alcohol

Stopped by on Friday afternoon. Clientele was relatively quiet. Bar was fully stocked and had a huge selection of liquor. Service was quick. Holyce was performing. $5 margaritas. Good time had by all.

Came to Austin for the long weekend and found this place wandering around downtown Austin Mike at the door, is extremely welcoming and Kate behind the bar, is Top Notch... Will absolutely be back!!!

It's alright...nothing special...The bartender was nice...We went in around 3pm, so it wasn't busy at all. Ordered a beer (they have cold beer, I'll give them that), a crown apple cranberry and a Jameson sprite, it was $33. Just another bar along 6th street.

Blake is quite the showman behind the bar! Great personality and helps you have a great time at this bar. This was our first bar stop after we got settled into our hotel that we were staying at. We arrived in the early afternoon on a Thursday, so not many restaurants and especially bars were open yet. It didn't seem like Dizzy Rooster was supposed to be either, but while walking down six street, the bouncer out front waved us in and we began our "taste of Austin" journey. Blake was working behind the bar that day. We came to find out after talking with him for a while that we closed the night before too. He easily could have been in a bad, non-talkative mood, but he was far from that! He gave us a ton of tips of places to check out throughout our stay here. With the amount of liquor on the back wall, I had totally blanked on what I wanted to order. I usually don't ask a bartender this, but in this case I felt comfortable to ask Blake what he recommended or liked making. He recommended a Pineapple Upside Down cake drink, which I had never heard of before, so I gave that a try. Needless to say, I had 3 of them before my wife and I left. Each time he was making them, as well as the drinks my wife was having, he was doing tricks with the glassware and bottles. It was really cool to watch because there was only a few of us in the bar so we got to have more personable conversations. Great way to start our trip in Austin! We meant to make it back in the evening during one of our nights but unfortunately never did. Looking forward to coming back though!

I used to stop by Dizzy Rooster regularly and was sad to hear they had closed during coronavirus. Turns out they have re-opened under new ownership. They did a BIG remodel and the place looks great. Tons of TVs, clean bar, and it looks really great. Will be stopping back in often.

Absolute staple! Whether you're booking pickleball courts with friends, letting the kids loose on…read morethe playground, or hanging out with your dog, Bouldin truly has it all. The vibe is unmatched, especially on game days or for hosting any kind of gathering (work parties, dog parties, kid parties, you name it!). The food truck options are fantastic, but you have to order the Crunchwrap. Seriously, it's next-level and completely puts Taco Bell to shame!!! You just can go wrong here. Highly recommend!

There's this huge building that looks like an unassuming co-working space, but it turns out that there is a whole fun world behind it! They have a great setup: there's a little playground, a paddle board court, corn hole, etc to keep kids entertained and they had a huge screen set up to watch the game. And tents! Thank you for having tents and misters! The ambience is spot-on. Overall, we were happy with everything that we ordered to eat. The buffalo cauliflower bites were a bit too saucy, but nice and smoky. The CM Chopped Salad--which was NOT chopped--had a ton of good veggies and a fun dressing. Our daughter managed to finagle two orders of chicken fingers and those were slightly better than the normal junk that comes out. Cold beers on tap, Aperol Spritzes on a hot day--what is there to complain about? We were glad to be leaving when we did because the place was starting to get slammed and rowdy and not as appealing, so be mindful of the partying witching hour. But for a late afternoon World Cup meet-up with friends, this was a good time. Four stars.

If you're sitting outside, I'd recommend avoiding the tables closest to the street. The patio offers a much better atmosphere. Food | 3.5/5 The oysters were REALLY good! So fresh! I especially loved watching them shuck the oysters right there. There's something about seeing them freshly opened that makes the experience even better. The steak, however, was disappointing. It was pretty flavorless and really needed more seasoning. I'm not sure if a marinade or a more generous amount of seasoning would help, but it was definitely missing something. A good steak should have plenty of flavor on its own, and this one just didn't deliver. The fries were good, though! No complaints there. Drinks | 4/5 I enjoyed my drink! It was well-made and tasted great. Service | 5/5 The service was excellent! Everyone was friendly and attentive, and I really appreciated the hospitality. Overall Experience | 4/5

For reasons that make no sense to any experienced summer festival-goer, the Q2 powers-that-be decided to make this a "no re-entry" event, meaning that attendees are basically locked in the stadium with very few options for relief from the heat. Thank heaven for PointsBet Sports Bar! PointsBet Austin is located inside of Q2 stadium on the north end near the Zebra Gate, up some stairs just to your right as you enter the gate. They have cold air-conditioning, at least one phone recharging station, a few table games, seating for at least 50 people, and standing room for a couple hundred others. Plus, there's a huge horseshoe bar serving plenty of canned and mixed beverages. The whole north wall is floor-to-ceiling windows, providing plenty of natural light. Lastly, there are 18 flatscreens around the walls showing various sporting events and during our concert, a couple were streaming a live view of the concert stage. As expected, prices were "high" (like everything else in Austin these days), but they were in line with pricing available at the other beverage stands outside in the stadium, so we didn't pay any more than we would have out there for the same drink. According to their website, PointsBet opens 3 hours before soccer matches on regular Q2 game days, and it's one of the few air-conditioned places where non-VIP attendees can get a break from the goings-on outside.

From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was fantastic! Jessica took great care of us and made our visit even more enjoyable. The ambiance was also really nice, with cute rocking chairs out front and lots of mirrors all over the walls. We had the grilled cheese sandwich with burnt ends, and WOW! The combination of the amazing onions and gooey, delicious cheese was out of this world! We also ordered the sweet potatoes, and I cannot say enough about how good they were! Perfectly sweet and absolutely delicious. Seriously, SO SO good! And the drinks? The lavender lemonade was AMAZING! Refreshing, delicious, and the perfect complement to an already fabulous meal! Between the incredible food, fantastic drinks, and Jessica's wonderful service, this place was a winner all around! If you're in Austin, Moonshine Grill is definitely worth a stop! Make a reservation if you have a large party or are on a tighter schedule. It's a bit loud for those seated in the lobby/entrance area, but totes a vibe. For food, we ordered the blackened catfish, brisket burnt ends quesadillas, and harvest bowl to share. Everything was delicious and served quickly, even with the aforementioned dinner rush. 10/10 would order the same items again. I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. I'm already thinking about the next time we're going back! If not for Moonshine, definitely for the speakeasy downstairs.
