3.31.26: First time here and I came because a couple of bands I like, Kash'd Out and Beach Fly, were passing through while on tour. So my review is solely based on this bar providing live music. Although they offer food, I did not order any and was just ready to move and groove. Also, I don't drink alcohol and cannot speak on their adult beverage selection or service. As for being a smaller venue that offers live music, I enjoyed the chill vibe and how everyone was nice and laid-back. If there was any security, they blended in and I didn't notice, whereas next door at The Knit, security often mean mug and stare you down. The sound was amazingly great! I can always appreciate a sound engineer who cares about their job. I would definitely come here for another show and next time I'll try some food. read more

Mother's place I come all the time. I usually buy two tickets even when I know it's just me. I stood in line for a beer couldn't get a beer then I moved to a seat at the bar and couldn't get a beer bartender love to be 13 times and gave other people drinks fucking ridiculous. First stop after the airport! We were craving one of hot, soft pretzels from here with the beer, jalapeno cheese! My friend was a little disappointed as the cheese was different this time, and she couldn't taste the beer? We had the place to ourselves on an early Saturday afternoon. I was born and raised in Spokane- a city that I was stoked to show my partner(who's born and raised maui,hi). I heard decent things about the district bar- however when we were cruising by it was really slow and didn't seem too inviting. Regardless, we decided to give it a shot. (Mistake) as soon as we entered the bar we WERE NOT greeted with kindness- rather crude smirks and a guy that appeared to be barely able to serve alcohol himself. The "bartender" asked for our ID's in which he immediately smirked and said "Yeah I'm not taking this". I thought he was joking- I mean I've gotten a few mclovin' jokes since being here with my Hawaii license. But he wasn't. He assertively claimed my ID had to be fake- and then proceeded to pass it around the bar to the two other patrons who smirked at our license as well- claiming "they can't be real". Well- cool story, Hawaii is a place- and although it may be small- guarantee no one from those islands will be visiting this local hub. I hope that in The future the district bar trains their employees to properly ID their patrons, rather than gaslight them in front of a few others (whom he was obviously trying to impress by denying a 27 and 25 year old service). Well friends- jokes on them.... We tip well and leave even better positive reviews than negative. I'll be cruising by.... Anywhere else honestly. Spokane is still good- but damn.... They were short staffed when we went in for dinner before a show at the knitting factory, so I'll give them a pass on the service. However, the food was just really disappointing. The chicken sandwich was way over cooked, completely dried out, and tasted like old oil. The pesto Mac n cheese was basically just noodles with a cream sauce. No cheese in sight. Don't let your friends calling you "irresponsible" and "a borderline alcoholic" stop you from going to the bar on a Sunday night. Well, if that bar is The District, and you're going there before a concert at the Knitting Factory. A couple friends and I had a reservation at The District before a Sunday evening concert and had a great experience. The burger has a unique flavor with it being a house seasoned blend of chuck and brisket, which I found to be an enjoyable departure from regular ol' ground beef. Food prices are pretty standard but mixed drink prices are a bit on the expensive side. If you like beer, most of their food choices give you the option to get a couple dollars off your first pint if you get it with your meal. Even though it got quite busy our server remained attentive to us and got us our food and checks well before it was time to head into the concert. If there is a concert you really want to get in early for it is absolutely worth it to go to The District. Great food, good service, and the ability to get in before GA is a huge win in my book. read more

Hands down the best burger in town in my opinion. Friendly staff too. No complaints except the boring frozen bag fries. Edible, not horrible, just not good. And certainly not as good as the amazing burger. Five stars when they do better fries than seasoned steak fries. That being said I'll go there for that great burger again. Came here for a concert, stopped in for drinks before hand. The wait staff was very nice and accommodating. They kept making sure we were good and needed anything. Good atmosphere and clean bathrooms. After the concert we met up with other friends at the district bar. We ordered food and more drinks. Again, we had a good experience. The food was wonderful. This place has gone downhill so quickly. We've always gone here before concerts because you were able to get into the show early - apparently that doesn't happen anymore. They used to not accept reservations, but my parents haven't been there in a while and I thought I heard they started accepting them so we called to make sure. No one answered the phone and there was no indication of an option for reservations. The website said they opened at 3, the note on the door said 5, it used to be 4. ( I checked the website after being seated) When we got inside there was a seating hostess wearing a Victoria's Secret sweatshirt and some 'I've never been to yoga pants' that were several sizes too small (professional work attire would have helped us take her more seriously) she first lectured my dad on bringing a large group without a reservation, then sat us at two booths and one small table. There were at least three other tables that could have accommodated our whole group. I ran into a server we were familiar with and he told us he had a big enough table in his section and we should just move there. I chatted with the seating hostess and she laughed at me and said "there's no way I'm going to let that happen" and lectured me about making reservations. I told her I had talked with the server and she told me that someone had made a reservation online and specifically requested that table in that server's section, I asked if that was possible, and she said of course it was. (It's not, I checked) We just decided to order and deal with having to yell at each other across the restaurant. The servers were exceptional given the short staffing and large crowd (that they apparently weren't planning for...on the night of a show...) The food was a giant waste of money. It took 50+ minutes to actually get our food, after waiting around 20 minutes to order. We were served drinks that we didn't order (and charged for them), and several dishes that were incomplete. Tomato basil soup and grilled cheese served luke warm and the sandwich never showed up. Bacon mac n cheese was noodles with some melted shredded cheese on top, with no bacon. Arugula pear salad was wilted and barely had any cheese, a few (seriously, like 3) candied walnuts and 5 small slivers of pear. I had to request dressing, and waited 15 minutes for it. When we finally asked our server about the meals (after being in the restaurant for 2 hours), she said the only thing she was allowed to do was bring us some bacon if we wanted it. Our bill was over $200 and we tipped our overworked server $45. The seating hostess seemed like she might be a manager of some sort after a while. She made it very clear that we were a total inconvenience to her. Glad to know there is no actual benefit to going to the restaurant before seeing a show, so next time, we will take our party somewhere else! read more

And I'm being nice with the rating. We have been sitting here for 45 minutes waiting for food. Considering it's the night of a concert, it's really not that busy. I've been here when the place is SRO. The dish we're waiting for? Nachos! Very complicated, right? What a frickin' joke. Also, we had to go to the bar for drinks because the waitstaff must have been busy grating the cheese... Oh wait, that was cheese sauce from a can. My husband and I went to The District because they were participating in Spokane Restaurant Week and they were one of two downtown establishments we saw that offered a pint of beer in lieu of a dessert as one of the courses. Any apprehension we had going in because of the location (previous home of a more "club" type of bar) dissolved when we walked in an the decor was similar to what it had been as Bourbon Street. With a nice big TV screen (70 inch), perfect for viewing some sporting events during the right seasons, our attitudes shifted from unsure to happy anticipation. Our server had not yet helped people who were there for SRW but did not miss a beat in letting us know she would check with her manager to verify the selections. She came back to let us know what the options were and after giving us time to decide, asked if we wanted to put in the whole order at once. This was nice, as we got to order and put the menus aside and enjoy our drinks. When there was a delay for one of the drinks, she made sure to let us know it was because they were getting clean glasses and it would be right our. We've all had that frustration of wondering where our drink is. Just knowing that she was aware it was delayed put me at ease that she did not forget. Our food was brought out nice and hot direct from the kitchen when it was ready. There was no delay waiting for our server to realize it was ready. It was obvious the team of servers and employees were operating as a team which is always nice to see. We had the Walla Walla Onion Soup, Bruschetta, and Corned Beef burger. Everything was delicious. As our sides, we opted for the green beans and Brussels sprouts. Both were great, but the sprouts were phenomenal. There was a unique flare to the food that is hard to describe. My best suggestion is go try for yourself! Between the unique menu, the terrific service, and the quality food, we're hoping that The District will stay because it definitely adds something fun and new to downtown. Loved how ur able to get into the concert first by making a reservation with them food was pretty good had the cheesy bacon fries and mozz sticks fries could of been better a little dry could use sauce on top like ranch but otherwise good if u like ketchup gets busy on concert nights so dont expect to get ur food and drinks fast but it was still good drinks were not bad but they were small drinks was expecting a full glass if u dont want to wait in line for a concert def go here!! staff was very nice as well read more

Reservations for dinner before the concert. Placed our order by the 6:15 cutoff. Crowded, but I'd seen it worse. Waiting and waiting for our food. Nothing extravagant two Burgers and an order of fish and chips. Had seen nothing coming out of the kitchen for over 20 minutes. About 5 minutes before they let us into the concert, our waitress came up to us and asked us if we would mind if we got it to go in a box because they were not going to have it out to us before the concert we said okay. Had to send our bill back to have the proper pricing applied. Grabbed the boxes, headed into the venue. My fish was saturated in oil, my fries cold. Both burgers were lukewarm and extremely dry, cold fries and only 1 was garlic parmesean. Very disappointing again, this is not the first time we've had bad food. While staying at nearby Hotel Ruby, I discovered The District's enticing menu in my room and was instantaneously excited to experience their food. The offer of a discount to Ruby guests was definitely an added bonus although their menu alone was hook, line and sinker. Pros: Awesome selection of beers on tap, spacious place with a chill atmosphere, and the MOST INCREDIBLE Walla Walla Sweet Onion soup smothered with gruyere cheese! The soup alone deserves a solid 5 stars! Con: The service. As soon as I sat down at the bar I felt like an inconvenience to the bartender. I thought maybe she was having a rough day so I made a point of being kind and appreciative of the minimal service I was provided but it was pointless. I had planned on having more than just the soup and one drink or even returning again while in town however I opted not to based on the bartender's demeanor. Loved the actual Venue of the Knitting factory and worth going so that you enter the concert area early. Awesome. Food was actually pretty good but they have NOT figured out how to accomodate and staff the kitchen so that the can feed everyone in a timely manner on concert nights. Our food came out completely at different times and far apart from each other and you can tell by waitress response that it is completely normal. This place does NOT operate like a normal restaurant with regards to customer service. They obviously have an issue with maximum capacity and turn people away because of it, but the way they communicate to customers that have now idea what is happening is brutal. The tall guy with the earring must be either the manager and accountable to no one or should be fired. Total arrogant ass who's ego is involved in arguing he's right rather than helpfully explaining their situation. Would never go back there if not for concert. read more

This place is a joke! Went there to eat and get a couple drinks before the concert. Heard that the don't take reservations. First come first serve. Got there at 4:20pm (says open at 3pm on website) there was one person waiting outside that told us that they don't open till 5 and asked if we had reservations. She then told us that we would need a reservation, so I went online and got a reservation for 6pm. We were 2nd in line when the manager started letting people in. We had been standing out in the cold, wknd and rain since 420! He called the people with 5pm reservations and 5:15. We then asked for my friends and my IDs. He said we could go in and sot at the bar so we went in and were waiting at the hostess area, when he came in and stopped us. Asking of we had a reservation and when we said yes for 6pm. He then proceeded to yell at as calling us scammers and that he should make us go to the end of the line. I have never been to this bar. I didn't know about the number system we just wanted to eat before the concert. We went in and the bartender was alright. Didn't pay too much attention to us. Then came the time to go in to the venue. He called our number and when we went up there he was like oh hey everyone look its the scammers. Today I checked my account and I was charged $40 twice and the "manager" said there isn't anything he could do and proceeded to call me the scammer on the phone. I will never eat or drink at the knitting factory because I know that it will be helping that DBag out. This "manager" needs some serious lessons on customer service. Or maybe a new manager would be better. Skip this bar and go eat somewhere that has better food and better service. read more

We did not have a good experience here. We sat for 30 minutes, first near the bar and then at one of the tables, without any service. The waitress kept walking by us and avoiding eye contact and the bartender also avoided us. I finally tracked down another waitress and asked for help. Even after that, the service was awful. The place was nearly empty, so it wasn't a situation of the staff being stretched too thin. Three of us ordered food - one burger, one veggie burger, and a grilled cheese with tomato soup. The burgers came out about 10 minutes before the grilled cheese. That makes for an awkward situation as we were eating in front of our hungry friend. I was never offered a refill on my 7-up, nor was I offered any water. The bun on my veggie burger was burned and the burger itself was not dressed with any sauce (no mayo, ketchup, etc.). My husband's burger was at the far end of well-done when he asked for medium-rare. Both burgers came with garlic fries and the amount of garlic was insane and the fries were limp. Overall this was an extremely disappointing experience and I now understand why the place was so empty. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect from this place as far as food goes...is it just a nice place to have a drink or can they cook? I was so pleasantly surprised... Oh my goodness, they can cook! I tried a bite of as much as I could, given the fact that we had a party of 8 and every thing I tried was so yummy! They make pretty much everything from scratch. Home made potato chips with Truffle oil... Pan seared Brussels with bacon...Mac and Cheese to die for. Ordered some stale chip nachos with cheese whiz, which I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning from, and mozzarella sticks, which were still frozen when they were served! After waiting a long time to get the sticks recooked, they were lukewarm inside, which I guess is a plus from being frozen.
