    Whiskey And The Hangover Nachos
    Steve A.

Hit this up on a weekend, because that's about the only time it seems to be open. It's more like a sports bar, but it has a party kind of vibe. The Dime certainly costs a lot more than a coin of course. Come here for late night fun, or brunch on a weekend morning. The nights are more like a club than a restaurant. After experiencing it at a few different times, I can say the best time to get food is at brunch. It takes forever at night to get any drinks. That means you can forget about any food. It's about $9 for a basic cocktail. While that is pretty high, that's close to what other hip spots in Lincoln Park are charging for that kind of shit. As for the food, it's not bad. Last time we got the Hangover Nachos. It's $11, which was the biggest complaint. The portion was pretty big though. It comes with cheese, eggs, and sour cream, but I got my half without these and just got extra vegetables to make up for it. There's not much else here that's vegan friendly it seems. Consider getting reservations if going later. It gets jam packed at night. The music is okay mostly but sometimes the DJ is annoying as fuck and you got to get out of there.

I went here over the summer with my boyfriend for a little date before going to a party. The Dime is definitely a unique place in the Lincoln Park Chicago area - it's known for its bathroom that has famous people's mugshots plastered all over! I would recommend coming to The Dime solely for partying/dancing at night and their drinks. I would not come here for a date or to get food with friends or family. The food was alright, the drinks were good, and the service was great! It's definitely a clubby feel with a DJ playing in the center and it's always dimly lit if lit at all. It was hard to hear my boyfriend who was sitting across from me, but then again like I said, this is more of a going out place than a sit down and eat place. I liked it here but I would only go here next time to dance or have fun, not necessarily for the food!!

Came here mainly for bottomless mimosas (day brunching) & heard good things about the vibe! Music was good, dancing the entire 2.5 hours we were there. Also, service was A-1 steak sauce. I would go back, especially being in a good location, Lincoln Park. There's lots to do around there & especially in the summer/nice weather. Fun times! Only thing to keep in mind, tight squeeze at this place. Not the biggest venue in Chicago or on that block probably but they work with what they have! Also also, their bathroom is cool with the mugshots of celebrities = creative. Chicken & waffles were awesome with spicy syrup and Avocado Toast was magnificently flavorful. One of the better avocado toast I've had. Personal Review: 7.1/10

My friend & I came here for the 2-hour bottomless mimosa brunch. The atmosphere was awesome & so fun. They had really fun music playing & the staff was really nice. We didn't book a reservation so we sat at the bar. They had a limited menu for the day (Saturday) so we ordered the skillet breakfast & French toast. Both were really good! Nice sizes & good quality. We split each dish & still didn't finish them. We had probably 3 bottles of champagne & our tab was right at $100. Definitely a good time but it did fill up quick so make sure to book ahead especially if you have a large group!

Came here for Brunch & Bottomless mimosas with the gals and ordered the skillet! I ordered it without meat and added Avocado to it. It was very good and cheesy, different bread woulda been better. My friend ordered the breakfast tacos which were pretty stuffed , the eggs were nice and fluffy. Her only complaint was that the salsa wasn't spicy. My other friend ordered chilaquiles, I tried one and I felt it coulda had more chile but if you like your chilaquiles on the crunchier side this is for you. I felt this was more like nachos with egg on it and would be better with some meat. Two of my friends had the chicken and waffles and the portion was pretty small The chicken pieces were thin and kinda dry but the waffle was decent. The service here is good and friendly. Great atmosphere, bar vibes, good music and everyone there seemed to be having a good time!

Pros: I absolutely loved their chicken quesadillas! They were thick, chunky texture, and packed with flavor!! As for the decor and environment, the people are friendly and cool AF, and though the bar is not super huge, it's still decent. Cons: I originally ordered tacos but they were fresh out. Plus, even though not a lot of people ordered food, the quesadillas I ordered took a long time to come out. Despite that, the fact they were incredibly flavorful and tasty was well worth the wait.

This is my go-to brunch spot! The vibe is always fun! Is it a club? Is it a bar/pub? It is both! And I love it! Dress up or come dressed down, when you're done drinking, it's all fun stuff in the end! They have theeeee best margarita towers 88ozs and let me tell you...these bartenders will make it worthwhile!!! I love that you get a bottle of champagne for $25! The chicken and waffles are $12! The chicken is perfect with honey drizzled on it! (I don't like the waffles they are too thick! They need to be light and fluffier!) I pair my drunk with pineapple juice, it comes with it age juice! And please...try the frozen slushee which was mango and tequila it berry with vodka! Delicious! And I love their chicken wings!

Finally been able to check this place out for happy hour and loved the vibes! The retractable windows and music were on point throughout our time. All of the appetizers we ordered were delicious and the drinks were strong. The only thing was that the drinks were smaller than I anticipated. Cant wait to come back to check out their brunch!

There are a number bars on this stretch of Lincoln Ave, and sometimes it may hard to distinguish many of them for each other. However, there are many as aspects of the The Dime that differentiate it from the other places in the area. First, it's a Big Ten Bar. If this important to you and you are a fan or or went to a Big Ten school, this is a plus. Second, it has a little something for everyone. They have a number of TVs if you are sports fan and play cool music to listen to if sports isn't your thing. Third, the food is good. It's nothing fancy, just good bar good. I've been here twice, and enjoyed the food each time. On my first trip I ordered chicken wings, waffle fries and a chicken sandwich stuffed with Mac n cheese (I don't recall the name). I liked each dish, but the way to go are the wings. They were on par with any of great wings I've had in Chicago. My second, and most recent trip, was to try their current Friday special. It's $25.00 for a double cheeseburger with waffle fries and two hours of all you can drink beer. The burger was good and fries were crispy. My only issue was that pretzel bun was a bit salty. Overall for the price, and with beer included, it's a good burger at a good price. For beer, I got a buckets of Bud Light and Coronas. Not the best beer in all the world, but for the price, on a Friday night and in Lincoln Park, this is a great deal. Overall, if you are looking for a good bar with good food this a place to check out.

From the moment we sat down, our waitress--the one with curly hair and a gummy bear necklace--was noticeably rude and unwelcoming. When we were ordering drinks, we were speaking politely, but she just stood there silently, almost impatiently, waiting for us to finish. There was no friendliness or even basic customer service. When she brought out a classic margarita, she didn't make eye contact, didn't say anything, and just dropped it off and walked away. The drink itself was extremely strong to the point that it wasn't really drinkable. When we politely asked if it could be remade or if more mix could be added, she responded with, "Is this a complaint about a heavy pour?"--which came off as dismissive and sarcastic. It was disappointing because we were excited to visit Chicago and were hoping for a friendly, welcoming dining experience. On the positive side, the atmosphere was great, the outdoor seating was really nice, and the food was genuinely delicious. Overall, great vibe and food--but the service we received, especially from our waitress, made the experience far less enjoyable than it should have been.

If you've been to the old spot I'm talking about, you'll notice immediately that The Scout still has the beautiful, soaring ceilings, but they've also remodeled a chunk of the restaurant, which is great! We sat down pretty immediately at a table in the back of the restaurant - not too far from the (new) DJ booth, and our waitress was extremely kind and gave us prompt service. We were just hanging out, listening to the music, when the NFL Divisional playoff game that was on tonight came back on, and let me tell you, it was the loudest game audio I have ever heard in a bar, ever. I've been going to sports bars for most of my adult life, and I get that folks can get excited and loud and that's not what I'm talking about. The audio of just the announcers and players from the telecast were almost exceeding 100 dBA, slow, without the bar cheering. I've been an audio engineer for over 20 years, and that isn't too far off from the base level of what you'll experience at concerts at the United Center (102-110 dBA, slow). We asked twice if the zone that encompassed our area of the restaurant could be turned down - but nothing changed, so we took our food to go and left. It wasn't just "can't have a conversation" loud, it was "I can't think" loud. This place needs to do some system tuning (the example I'll give - if you go to a Yard House the environment is loud and lively but you can still hold a conversation at your table because the audio system is extremely well tuned). The food that we ate when we got home (Kids mac n cheese and buffalo wings) were exceptional, so that's why I'm not leaving a single star. I don't know if we'll be back, I was incredibly disappointed tonight.
