We do not mind Extra Charges but the Problem is they did not call or text about the extra Charges ... I am in a wheelchair and fell first day there cause the ramps have a bump.... One of the owners was standing right there and it did not matter to him ... Everything i did i had to do in reverse.... Not a place for someone in a wheelchair.... I recently wrote a review for the restaurant; the Inn is deserving of it's very own review as well. Five stars are simply not enough to describe the exceptional quality of service and hospitality that we received while vacationing at the beautiful historic Dillard House during the last week in June. From the first moment of calling for a reservation until the very last "good-bye" and "thank-you", we were treated as though we were family, and the most special guests that had ever visited the Inn. We were made to feel as though we were royalty, and we thoroughly enjoyed the "royal treatment". The entire staff conveyed an attitude of genuine care and concern for our comfort and happiness. They are currently under construction and renovations which we were unaware of before we arrived. Even so, they were more than successful at getting the message to us that guests of The Dillard House are their top priority and so receive top priority treatment. The room was not only clean and beautifully traditional, it was also the most quiet and peaceful place we have ever had the pleasure of vacationing at. Sitting in the rockers on the deck of our room in the quiet stillness of the morning, was like a breath of Heaven, and gave us quality quiet time with the Lord as we shared a cup (or two) of coffee. The absolute perfect place to rest, relax, and forget the stress of the world for a little while. We did not want to leave. A big "Thank You" to Aliye, Sarah, David, John, and especially Jessica for everything you did, all the extra effort you put in, to make our stay with you this year even more memorable than the last time we were there, and our trip a perfect one!! We had a very enjoyable and memorable stay here. When we first arrived, we had a minor plumbing issue in our room. They kindly moved us into a larger room for no extra charge. Our stay here was quiet, serene, and peaceful. The views of the mountains are amazing and watching the horses graze is very nice. Waking up to coffee and a beautiful sunrise on the back deck of our room was a great way to start our day. I am really looking forward to staying here again the next time I visit this wonderful part of our country. read more

We booked a night for a weekend getaway. Ok- I thought $180.00 for a room- well- it seems to be something special and we were looking forward to it. We arrived a bit early, so we decided to eat lunch first before checking in- but we were able to check in while we waited for a table- My wife did the check in. While we were waiting, I needed to use the restroom- well- this restroom was more disgusting than the sewer drain in homeless town Los Angeles. Poop in the bowls AND seats, toilette paper on the floor, over the toilettes, stinking and nasty. As I got out, I told the receptionist. She thanked me for the information and that was it. We got the table and what came next was the experience, that there is worse food than at gas stations. The ribs where totally undercooked and I could not even chew the meat off the bone- besides totally tasteless. Same to the potatoes- mushy and no taste- as everything else- even the cabbage casserole. They brought us only dark meat at chicken. we asked for white meat and well- I don't know, what they did- but water was dripping out of a fried chicken?- I was done at this point, as well as my wife- we didn't even pack the rest in. And for this abyss of culinary experience, we had to pay $66.00! To be honest- if there would had been a Golden Coral near by- I would had gotten up and went there instead. By the way- as we left, I had to use the bathroom again to wash my hands- and no- nothing was done to clean it. It was disgusting. Next, we got to our room- of course the key cards did not work- I had to go back to the office and magnetize them again. We opened the door and a musky, old smell came towards us- first, my wife opened the sliding door and within seconds 30 flies were in the room- no screen. Ok- we wanted to put our drinks in the fridge- well- fridge not working. They offered to get a new one in- but we declined- we didn't wanted to have more disruption. The TV was a model what was already in museums around the world at times Edison was still alive- the volume couldn't be regulated - it changed the channels every time we tried. The carpet was sticky and nasty- I had my shoes on all the time not to touch it. My wife wanted to take a shower and let the water run for 20 minutes and only Luke warm water came out- so we both didn't shower. Overall- the whole room looked like the only renovation it ever had was as it was built- 80 years ago? cracks everywhere, sticky floor in the bathroom, the drain of the bath tub was rusty, the shower curtain had mold on the bottom, the bottom of the sink fell obviously apart at some time- they just put a little basket with the blow drier on the bottom... yuk. Another thing- I know- I get it- I live on 32 acres and know, the work has to be done- including lawnmowing. BUT- If you have guests- why do you have to do that for hours in front of the rooms on a Saturday evening, if you want to enjoy the rocking chairs after a long day driving and walking around, having a coffee? This was annoying. To be honest- It's disgusting charging a premium price for a room and food which lets every shady daisy's inn look like a 5 star Hilton and the Waffle house like first class upscale dining with a Michelin star. Yes, the area was nice and we enjoyed walking and such, as the mountain view- but well- they didn't built that. For this price range I expect at least middle class service and amenities, a clean and up to date room and due to the animals near by (which was absolutely not an issue- we liked that) a screen in front of the sliding door. This thing is run down and lives off past glory. And no- I don't have high expectations- but when I pay this amount of money, I would think I can expect equivalent value- I would had said nothing if the food would had been a 2 for $20 and the room for $70- that's what it was worth in my opinion- but I spent in total with tax over $300 for one meal and one night. We thought about staying 2 or 3 days- I'm super glad we didn't. We will not be back. read more

This is a review of Dillard House Chalet #5. I will start off with the good. The beds were comfy, sheets pillows clean, clean fresh towels, fairly well stocked kitchen and everything was clean. Fridge was very clean,, stove top, microwave all clean. Only one dish towel and one pot holder.. AC, and WiFi worked great. We brought our Roku stick so no idea about cable TV. The bad. ROACHES! giant roaches about 3 in. long. I went and bought spray and sprayed every corner of that place. Roaches falling out of chimney so if you stay here, I recommend being prepared. I did make the office aware the first morning. Electrical issues. The outlets are decades old and some don't even work. Lighting upstairs was an issue. The morning we were leaving, the living room and dining room lights just stopped working. I would definitely recommend bringing a couple indoor extension cords. The upstairs tub was disgusting. I have attached photo. The carpets on the stairs and upstairs also seem to be decades old. We refused to walk barefoot on them. The landing at the bottom of the stairs feels like it could give away with any step. Also the floor between living room and sitting room dips and also feels like it could give away. We did not cook or use the oven but did notice that one of the small burners doesn't work. Housekeeping just walked right in without knocking. I was gone so there was no vehicle but my wife and daughter were in the living room. She just walked right in. The office was very apoplectic and made it right. The front door was busted and it's apparent people have had to jimmy the lock to get in. See photo. It does shut and lock but not the most secure door. We probably would never stay here again. At least not in chalet 5. The Dillard House is a respected brand in North GA but this chalet was not synonymous of their reputation and quality. We stayed one night at the Rock House at the Dillard House. The rooms are small and "different" from your typical hotel but they are all furnished with antique furniture and are just adorable in my opinion! It was quiet and peaceful and a great place to stay! I feel like people who come here expecting a five star hotel may be disappointed but this is to get away and just enjoy the scenery. We ate dinner here which was great and then had breakfast the next day too! All the food was excellent. The cinnamon rolls were amazing for breakfast! I highly recommend staying here but keep an open mind! read more

OMG!! I just came back from a two night stay at this place for work. I only wish that I had read the reviews on this place before I let work reserve a room for me to stay here. I definitely would have protested and refused. There were both good and bad points about this place. The good: the staff was very pleasant and friendly when I came in contact with them. That's all I have to say good about this experience. The bad: my room was a horrible, smelly, outdated mess. It had an old damp basement vibe that made me really uncomfortable. There were plumbing issues in the tub and the darn thing leaked continuously ALL NIGHT. I noticed it the first night because it was so gross. Stupid me figured that when they came to clean my room after the first night, they would see it and make note and fix it. Nooooooo that wasn't the case. They cleaned my room, and of course the tub was still broken. So basically you KNOW by now that I am in a substandard room. Like other reviews, I had company with the critters as well. I killed a total of three spiders and a centipede. I can only guess what else was hiding around after the lights went out. If you get an opportunity to actually choose where you stay PLEASE go elsewhere! It would be worth the extra money to pay for somewhere comfortable and not damp and wet. read more

So disappointed! The food looked andcwas served like slop. Way overpriced! No wonder it was entirely empty save for one family at 7 pm. 25 empty tables! Coleslaw and some dried tomatoes and cucumbers were served but were evidently not fresh and were even wilting and brown. Place was beautiful with pretty scenery. Called the reservation number to reserve a room for 10th Anniversary. Upon checking in and locating our room we found it looked a lot like a 1970s motor lodge. Small room, one Queen bed, okay. Bedding and carpet looked old and worn, and carpet felt a bit sticky. The bathroom was smaller than the closet, including the tub! There were non paying guests of stink bugs and a roach already enjoying the room. AC wall unit cycled off and on all night. Looking at control panel, it said "clean filter". There is a walnut tree very near the building and it sounded like baseballs hitting the roof at random times. Also another guest had a loud altercation (screaming fight) right next door with associated door slamming. Overall felt more like Motel 6, at triple the price. Will not stay again, surely will not recommend. read more

What a huge disappointment The Dillard House Inn was for us! We've always heard and read such great things about Dillard House so we were looking forward to a relaxing weekend there. Unfortunately when we checked out the room we had been given we found a hole in the bathtub where the faucet should have been. When we asked about it at the registration desk we were told they had been waiting for a part to fix it. So they rent out a room they know has damage! There were no more rooms available, so we had to go elsewhere. Needless to say my impression of the well-known Dillard House is no longer favorable and I would never recommend it to anyone. read more

Very disappointed in our stay/almost stay at the Dillard House Inn. After a couple of tough weeks due to medical issues, my wife and I were looking forward to a relaxing week-end away to just decompress. We arrived and checked in to our room - a Luxury Fireplace Suite!! The staff was friendly, courteous, and professional. We head over to our room, only to find a hole about 6" in diameter in the wall where the bathtub handle is supposed to be. The room was otherwise clean, but there was a very heavy smoke smell from the wood burning fireplace (expected but just noting it for anyone that's bothered by it). We went back to Registration to see if they had any other rooms. All they had was a standard queen room with no view and was only slightly less than our "Luxury" suite. They offered to give us 10% off with the possibility the business manager would be willing to give us an additional refund "after" we checked out. The worst part about the ordeal, was the front desk person stated that the hotel was aware there was a hole in the wall, but had been booking guests in it anyway! If that's the value the owners/management put on their guests, I'm not sure it's somewhere we will return. I would describe the Dillard Inn as "charmingly rustic". It is a historic inn nestled in the N. Georgia mountains. Do not expect an elegant resort. read more

Our dad passed away two years ago. The Dillard House was always his favorite family memory and most favorite destination. We decided to have a family reunion this year and chose to stay at Chalet Village in Chalet 21. First, bring paper towels, dish soap, sponges, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, pot holders and salt and pepper. Second, bring bath towels as there are definitely not enough for a large group to shower. Finally and the most unfortunate issue was bed bugs. My daughter in law needed to see a doctor her bites were so bad. Yes, I did reach out to Dillard by phone and email but received no response. read more

Saturday morning, I requested a reservation for that night for my husbands birthday. On the request it requires a card number and it states they will call with the confirmation and details. I waited for the call, then I got busy and forgot about it. But they never called until the next morning, left a voicemail asking why we were a no show. Before calling back, I checked my bank account. Sure enough, a pending charge of 200.00 was on my account. I called and spoke to a surly lady in reservations, explained we never got a confirmation and that I expect my 200.00 credited. She said she had never had this problem and she would have to ask a manager and she would call me back. Hours rolled on, I checked my account and another 200.00 was charged! My husband then called and spoke to someone who said she would credit the 400.00. This morning I checked my account and, yes there was a credit of 400.00 AND a new mystery charge of 978.00!!!! All in a 3 day pending on my account. A fourth call and this time the lady had no explanation...she would investigate and call back. It's now Monday night, no call, and no 978.00 credit. I'm pretty livid And willing to drive the 2.5 hours to get this straightened out If that's what I have to do. Theres no property up there worth 200.00 a night for two people! And they can't get their together enough to have online services OR phone matters, IMO. I am attaching my screenshots of the charges. It's beyond ridiculous!!! read more

Beautiful location. Peaceful. Hidden. We stayed in the Highlands section of the inn. It was an overall enjoyable stay. Rates were reasonable for what you got. The room we got was a double queen. It was plenty big enough for 3 to 4 people. There's enough room between and around the needs where you at not going to feel like you're right on top of one another. The beds we slept in we're super comfortable. The amenities in the rooms were fine and all there. There's a nice back deck attached to all of the rooms and each room has two rocking chairs with it. Now a few issues that we did have. 1) the 32" flat screen TV was not a flat screen TV. 2) the heating/air unit kept turning off on its own. It wouldn't even run a few hours before shutting off. 3) the rooms are seriously outdated. I seriously think my grandparents had these curtains back in the 70s. And it's like that for everything, from the carpet to the furniture. Outdated. Outdated. Outdated. 4) the free high-speed internet did not exist. You could see there was internet to connect to. You could "connect", but it would connect without internet. 5) the back deck mentioned above has it's pros and cons. We sat out there a few times and it was peaceful. A nice place for a morning cup of coffee or a nightcap. My only slight complaints are; there's no separation between the rooms. Anyone from any room has unrestricted access to the entire deck. And the view was a bit limited. We were lucky enough to have visited in the Winter, so the trees were bear. If you get here when the trees are full, your not going to be able to see the view of the mountains as they note on their website. read more

We drove 7 hours in anticipation of the dreamy full southern style of cooking. We had my granddaughter who had endured us boasting how good the food and the service was. Well this Omi disappointed her grandchild. Something I hope I have never done before this night. Let's start with the country ham that Alton Brown raved about on the "Best thing I ever ate" The ham was sugar glazed and totally dried out sitting in a puddle of grease. The serving size was disappointing and less than a serving of country ham at Cracker Barrell for 3.79. And I had to special order and it was forgotten and they had to be reminded to even bring to the table. Now the fried chicken, where do I begin....Let's see we got a wing, breast, and a thigh of soggy coated chicken for 3 adults. To say the least it was a disgrace to southern cooking. So Great grandmother is standing back and shaking her head at what her family has done to her recipes. Oh and the meatloaf was rubber in a bowl with no flavor at all. Nothing else needs to be said about it. The veggies were lack luster and boring. The cabbage casserole which I dearly loved was hard cabbage with an even harder layer of cheese. Green beans would have benefitted with a shake of the salt shaker. The fried green tomatoes were so thick and under cooked that we could barely cut them even with a knife. The corn was sweet but cold and no butter (it would not have melted anyway.) The mashed potatoes were just wrong and COLD. Could they have been instant??? The gravy was a clear tasteless mess. The sweet potato casserole had more cinnamon than sweet potato. The bread basket was disgraceful and again COLD. Let me bring to your attention that we were seated at 5:00 just after they opened for dinner. SO WHY WAS IT COLD????? OK should I even talk about the peach cobbler. It was a couple of warmed canned peaches and a small biscuit. And it really was a la mode with the tablespoon of ice milk. Well it was more enjoyable to write this review than it was to eat dinner at the Dillard House for $73.00 before tip. read more

Liked the full kitchen, dinning room table and comfortable den/living room. Like that we had plenty of firewood for the living room fireplace. Beautiful views too! Dining at The Dillard House is considered a special treat for my wife and I. We have only dined there 3 times. We decided this Thanksgiving to make the almost 2 hour drive instead of our traditional family gathering. Covid19 being such an issue. I called to make reservations for the 3 of us but, they only reserve tables for 8 or more. This resulted in a 2 1/2 hour wait. I was surprised there was no signage requesting the wearing or mask. The place was packed and 50% of people were without mask. Our waiter, while a nice young man, was far from professional. He wore his mask under his chin and in no way attempted to stand away from our table while taking our drink order. Another young man came to our table and asked if everything was OK. I told him I was uncomfortable with the waiting staff not wearing masks properly. He assured me he would speak to staff. There was no change however. My tea was served in a small jell type glass with about 3 melting ice cubes. During our 1 hour there eating, I managed to get 1 refill after asking another server. It took 20+ minutes to get our food. I asked for butter and was told the butter was in the freezer and salted. I took that as there was none available. No butter for rolls on Thanksgiving? Our server checked back 1 time our entire time seated. The food. We were starve by time we got food. The menu was weak in terms of side dishes. The turkey, ham and pork was good. The green beans, green peas, baby carrots and cabbage were boring. We barely ate any sides. The dressing was delicious as was the canned cranberry sauce. The gravey was wet but, had very little taste. The white rice was, well, rice! The side dishes seemed to be nothing more than "filler" items. My 14 year old son filled up on bread and ham. My wife on pork, rice and bread and I ate the dressing and turkey. There were no yams, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese. Green peas, beans and carrots can be delicious with a little seasoning but, these just seemed heated. We will never return to spend $100.00 on a below average experience. I would usually tip $25.00 on this size tab. Having seen on line they paid servers $15.00 hr., I tipped $10.00. I only tipped that much because thre kid did his best with obviously no real training. Perhaps if they paid less hourly, waiters would try harder to earn good tips. read more

I was highly disappointed. The outside setting was picturesque and scenic but inside was a different story. The showers in particular were a disaster. The water temperature could not be regulated. When I thought the temperature was good, I entered the shower -- the temperature then proceeded to fluctuate from scalding hot to icy cold without my touching the knob. I don't know if all showers are on the same system and the fluctuations are from other rooms using their showers at the same time. If so, that's a major issue. Definitely needs upgrading. Restaurant was mostly good but not 4-5 stars either. Sometimes when you hear raves about a particular town, restaurant, event, etc they don't live up to the hype. Just ok. The rooms are clean and the views are beautiful. However, the rooms could do with some updates. They really could make this an amazing boutique motel with just a few updates. I was in room 160 and I the heat was not working well and it took forever to get the shower to heat up. I did tell the front desk and they were helpful but they were not able to get anyone to my room before I checked out. I would love to give them 5 stars but they really need to spend some money to fix the place up. read more

Very disappointed the food was just ok but the fact that they had the air conditioning blasting and not really needed and was blowing right on our table all the food was cold in a matter of minutes, the server disappeared and never returned with our requested food refills. There are so many things wrong here. We have a fireplace suite $185 a night because this was going to be a special weekend for us. They say they have a "Kitchenette". Besides the microwave and little refrigerator every other hotel gives you, you have a bar sink, ergo "kitchenette". They provide no paper towels, silverware, dishes, dish towel, soap, not even a stir stick for your coffee. One single pack of coffee. Oh, and they provide no breakfast at all, not even a continental breakfast, or even hot coffee in the lobby. Zip, zero, zilch. The furniture is old/worn and mis-matched like it came from garage sales. Sofa and chairs are very low so it takes quite an effort to stand up once you sit down. TV is a small 32" and when we moved it closer to the couch we found a mouse trap under it. Yep, that was special. There is no thermostat so you have those manual air conditioners (heater) in two of the walls. The one in the living room made this dying noise about once a minute...all...night...long. When we got there extra blankets were actually rolled up with the last occupants sheets still in them and shoved in the closet. Bed skirt is off by about 8 " so on one side of the bed you have to try and not trip on it. Footboard on bed was broken, and leaning in substantially. I took pictures in case I need to prove later that we didn't do it. Decent bedding and lots of pillows on the firm bed. They do provide a lot of wood for the fireplace and that was a very nice surprise. There are only four hangers in the bedroom closet and the dresser drawer was broken. Supposed to sleep four with the sofa bed but they provide only 1 face towel, they actually have two separate showers (in the same room, one with tub), I found the shower part of the one with the tub didn't work. They have two showers, a bathroom sink, and a "kitchenette" sink, but only provide 1 bar of soap. Very disappointed. Between the bad food we had here last night and this room, we will not be back. read more

This review is for Group Pricing and Events. This had been one of my top choices for our wedding venue, but due to the serious lack of communication and responsiveness we've decided to pass. Over the course of 3 weeks, my mother and I contacted Group Sales multiple times and couldn't seem to get answers to our questions and all our emails went unanswered. They said multiple times when they sent the pricing brochure that they would "work with us" on pricing if anything seemed too high, but when I asked about their $7 per glass of wine cost (on top of the bartender cost) it was radio silence. After some research, they seemed to have the highest alcohol pricing in the North Georgia area and will not let you BYO no exceptions (unlike other venues near by). Every other venue in the area also responded to my emails within 24 hours. If Dillard House can't even communicate basic answers, I can't imagine trying to plan such a big event with so little support. Too bad for them - we were planning to spend approx. $20K with them over the course of one weekend! read more

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, DO NOT stay at the Dillard House Chalet Village. There is a rooster on the property who will wake you up bright and early each morning. There weren't any problems with the actual chalet but unfortunately the rooster has ruined any chance I had of peaceful late mornings in the mountains and I will never stay here again as long as it lives here. read more

Good- beautiful location, remote and quiet. Good places to eat at and beautiful hiking areas close by, most of staff are nice, horse back riding at stables was fun. Bad- chalets are in bad shape. Roof is covered in mold and falling apart, sink faucet moves, burners on stove coming out, floors uneven, everything old and tired looking, worn out. Major renovation is needed. They will wait one - two days and charge your credit card for some stupid stuff. they Charged my credit card $450.02 two days after I left the hotel. Only stayed in their hotel from 6 PM to 11 AM. I paid them allready for the room. And 2 days later charged my card $450.03. Go stay down the road at a big name hotel. I Called th e hotel to ask about my $450 charge an they are yet to respond to anything. Please don't be stupid not give them your credit card information. We visited Dillard house over a weekend and stayed two nights in Chalet 15. There were seven of us including two kids. My main problems with our stay had to do with safety. First off, the downstairs the library smelled of mold and even had a box fan running in it when we arrived as if they were trying to dry out the room. The other room next-door did not necessarily smell of mold but it smelled very musty. We had to change our sleeping arrangements because we counted on the pullout bed in the library. Two out of the three people who slept downstairs in the room next door developed a cough the following day. Another issue we faced was the temperature of the water. It was dangerously hot straight out of the faucet. Normally not a problem for me, but with our children with us it made it very difficult to give them baths. They are still young enough where they grab at the faucets and try to turn them on. I even scolded myself when I turned the wrong knob in the shower. The water was significantly hotter than industry standard, over 140 (yes, I measured it.) There was also a bottle of bleach left underneath the sink in the kitchen with a regular twist off lid. Apart from the safety issues, when we checked in the process was very unorganized and inconvenient. They refused to give us the one key they had because they misplaced the other key and we had to wait while they went to the hardware store to get another key made. After that, they even gave us the wrong key to a different chalet. It was about a 3 mile back and forth trip to return the key to the office. To top it off, the two car garage was filled with old mattresses. These are the reasons why it's a two star in my book. Other than that, it was a convenient location and we thoroughly enjoyed the amenities at the main Dillard House. read more

I'm very disappointed with our stay this past weekend. I chose this place to rekindle my relationship and took my fiancé to the first place we ever went away together out of town. I booked the romantic getaway package in advance and was told I would get the Meadows suite room with a jacuzzi. Associate on phone put me on hold for a long while because I wanted to make sure the room I was booking I was getting a jacuzzi. After reassuring me my room had a jacuzzi, she also asked me if wanted chocolate covered strawberries with champagne, or breakfast for two. I opted for the breakfast for 2. Upon checking in, the reception is was not very customer friendly. She said my room would be highlands #185 all the way at the end. I told her the room I booked was the meadows suite with a jacuzzi. She said no, highlands is your room and there's nothing she can do about it. I was very disappointed. Later after we ate dinner at the Dillard's restaurant, I remembered that my package is suppose to come with breakfast vouchers for 2. I went back to the receptionist and the same lady was there. I informed her of my package I had got and the incentive that comes with it. She said, well since you didn't get the room you originally book, then I will go ahead and give you the breakfast voucher. I'm not sure why she felt that this was a way to make it up to me by not getting the room I booked, I was already entitled to the vouchers that she didn't give to me to begin with upon checking in. Beware!!!!! We were denied our reservation booked 6 months in advance. We come in from out of state and our reservation was given to someone else without an explanation. We were offered a lesser accommodation that smelled bad and did not accommodate our party. We were not welcome. Ultimately we were left stranded. read more

We have stayed here at various times over the years, the last being about 4 years ago. At that time we noticed it was beginning to look a little shabby. We have just stayed at one of their Chalets, which they describe as rustic...Let's just call it what it is, a dump. The place was smelly, unclean, rundown and just not where you would really want to stay. I will say the beds were comfortable, the water was hot, and the towels are plush. That is all the positive I can honestly give. We left earlier than planned because staying in a dump is not what we would call fun. Even the 2 yorkies we have seemed dissapointed. Just to add a note about the restaurant associated with this property, it was mediocre at best and not worth $25 a piece. Some of the food was cold, some was dry and what they call red eye gravy was just plain old brown gravy. The building itself has nasty looking worn carpet and overall is just shabby and unappealing. We have given this place it's final chance and will be spending our money somewhere else from now on. But hey if you want an adventure...check it out for yourself. We will never return. read more

Went up from Atl. for Father's Day weekend (Saturday Night). Stayed in the Inn room 130&132, the rooms were ok, just OK. The best part of the rooms were the rocking chairs on the back patio- amazing views & quite! The next morning, everything went downhill, woke up and there was NO WATER!! I went to the office to find out what was going on & the lady said she had no idea when the water would be back on! I asked what we were to do about breakfast (it IS Fathers Day!) she said, "I have no idea!" Clearly I was getting nowhere, went back the room & told the family, we gathered out things and were ready to go by 8. I stopped by the office again & said that we expected a refund, the lady said, "oh the owners will have to do that". Fine, could I speak with the owner, "oh she isn't in until later, I doubt she's even awake." I told the lady we were very disappointed & she said, IT'S NOT MY FAULT... so no apology, no attempt to fix it! Nothing... Hospitality 101... Apologize to your guests!! read more

We brought a group of 70 people for an overnight stay and short retreat. The rooms were great. The meeting space was great. But the best thing of all was the amazing level of service we received from the staff. They anticipated our every need and then some. From setups, to small touches like refreshments and fires in the fireplaces, they exceeded our expectations every time. They were a joy to work with from booking to final payment. I highly recommend Dillard House for group retreats. Kudos to John Dillard and team. read more

Stayed there like a year and a half ago and we stayed in the INN with three rooms booked....my daughter's room smelled like a sewer....the smell permeated to the main room so my daughter told me to go there and smell it and it certainly smelled bad....don't think they did crap for my daughter....also, last Christmas, I booked a cabin and the jacuzzi was stone cold....I requested a small refund of $10 or $20 and they basically gave me 10% which was $10....they gave me a rude look when I asked for a small refund....and the jacuzzi should be warm when you go into the room not stone cold!!!! It took like three to four hours to warm it up so we could use it....BEWARE because things are not good at the Dillard House....a room shouldn't smell like a sewer when you check in!!!!! They are just cheap people who don't care about giving you a nice stay and won't!!!!!! I won't be staying overnight again!!!!! I have been burned and will never spend a dollar there again!!!!!
