The communication, professionalism. and integrity of this company is exemplary. I have not eaten a lot of Wagyu beef and didn't get why it was so special and so expensive. I just can't do any wrong cooking it--the steaks especially are out of this world!!! I am cooking Wagyu now for the price I would pay for regular beef in the supermarket. It is so much healthier, safer, and more inexpensive to get beef this way, all from the same healthy and well-cared for local animal. The contact email is ca@providencefarmstread.com

Even though they were closed the day I drove by, I couldn't resist heading up just to take a peek. The 1.5 miles from the paved road is a slow, winding dirt and gravel road with heavy gravel, bumpy pockets, and some steep sections. I drive a VW Jetta (a regular four-door sedan), and it was no easy feat--definitely took a beating. It took me about 20-25 minutes to reach the top at a careful pace. I've seen reviews saying it's manageable in a car, but I'd strongly caution anyone with a low-clearance or smaller vehicle: this road is rougher than it sounds. Once I made it to the gate, I parked and walked around. Wow--what a breathtaking, almost magical spot! The panoramic mountain views are incredible, and the whole setting feels like a hidden gem high up on the ridge. I'd love to come back when they're open for a proper tasting and to enjoy the views with a glass of wine. Next time, though, I'll be sure to bring a vehicle with better ground clearance--something like a small SUV, truck, or 4WD. Totally worth the adventure, but be prepared for the terrain!

We had such an amazing time and didn't want to leave. We've already booked our return trip for next year so we can bring our husbands and let them experience it as well! The house is absolutely stunning. It's updated just enough to make you comfortable with the modern amenities (we LOVED the fully equipped coffee bar) while not taking away from the beautiful historic aspect of the home. The owners were incredible. They really went the extra mile and added so many little touches that made us feel welcome and and right at home. From the local handmade soaps and bath bombs (perfect for the clawfoot tub with mountain views) to the fresh baked goods from a local bakery, candles from a local business owner, fresh flowers, handwritten card, the list just goes on! Todd, part of the husband/wife duo that owns the home gave us so many wonderful recommendations on restaurants and things to do while we were there. We took him up on many of his recommendations (all were amazing) but we also stayed in and just spent as much time at the house as possible. The gas fireplaces were beautiful, we spent many wonderful moments enjoying the 2 porches with porch swings and balcony with mountain views. We took advantage of the fire pit with the firewood that they provided. We played board games, cooked big breakfasts in the gorgeous kitchen, and just felt so peaceful and happy to be there the entire time. I could just go on and on, but we seriously cannot recommend the Farmhouse on Boxwood enough and we're already counting down the days until our return trip. :)

We got a cabin with a king and 2 queens. We are local so we came around lunch to use the pool before check in. When the cabin was ready we quickly unloaded everything. We noticed a few things like the rusted out bottom of the front door and rips in the kitchen floor. We knew booking that it was dated, I'm fine with dated but not ok with dirty. We spent the rest of the day at the pool. When we got back to the cabin that evening to make dinner (because wow the up-charges rival Disney level $) we noticed ants on the countertops. Called the front desk and they sent someone up to spray. The whole place furniture and floors were sticky. When my daughter went to get in bed the sheets were dirty, hair and dirt in the made bed. I checked the king and something. So at 10pm we went to the front to get clean sheets for all the beds. I found it odd that not a single bed had a mattress protector. Wake up in the morning and the ants are everywhere. Any of the food that had been opened and secured again (like chips, mini donuts, and buns) had ants in it. So we went to the front desk, they moved us to a new cabin. I found the front desk and the staff very helpful. We loved the village atmosphere and this place has sooo much potential. We were really hoping to have t a great experience especially since booking the cabin for 2 nights was $777 and some change. Not a cheap stay! I feel like they have totally overshot their price mark. Once again I'm fine with dated..not ok with dirty. Cabin 1050 needs to be retired. I hope someone actually reads these reviews and does something about it. Like I said before we are local and will probably still come back for a day or night just because it is such a cool atmosphere.
