I watched a guy put a nasty dent in my parked truck by slamming his own car door into mine. Eddie did such a great job repairing my car and also guiding me through some of the insurance portion. USAA had really poor communication and dragged their feet throughout the estimate and payment process but Eddie was helpful and also attempted communication with USAA. He also didn't leave me in the dark throughout the entire duration of the process like how USAA did. Hoping I won't ever need to return but if I did have to, I would choose The Dent Devils. Hands down, best experience with an auto body repair shop. Not to mention..... USAA slacked on sending the final payment on time (check was delayed over 15 days which eventually had to be cancelled and have a new check overnighted), Eddie met me on a Saturday morning while his shop was closed to allow me to pick up my car before the long holiday weekend. There is very good reason that Dent Devils enjoy a five star rating; they earn it! Eddie came to our house to repair a deep door ding we had on a Porsche Macan we had just purchased a couple of months earlier. He methodically and patiently worked on the ding, removing the inner door panel, and the outer door handle to get better access. He didn't just diminish the dent, he make it completely disappear! The door now looks factory new. I was worried about the panels getting removed from our new car and fitting all back like new, but the work was literally perfect! Where do I start. I rarely write reviews on businesses, but I feel like I must warn people because I do not want anyone to go through the same thing I went through. My experience with dent devils started off well, I had actually brought my car here before with no issues. But this time was much different. I had a custom muscle car and I got in a hit and run when it was parked on the left side of the bumper. I opened a claim because It was originally quoted at 4500, from a different body shop. Since I had already taken my car to Eddie I thought I could trust him With this as well. My car ended up being in the shop for 4 months.. the original quote I received was around 8000, then I got a final bill for around 24500... not once did Eddie tell me how much the increase was going to be. At the same time I was having issues with my insurance company USAA, which by the way I ended up suing after this. So this is a story with wrong business practices on the insurance and body shop side. Eddie told me we were going to fight the insurance company to get my car back to normal condition... and I didn't think much of it because I had a quote and approval from my insurance company to pay the elevated price from the original quote. Throughout the whole process, I found out through Saleen and USAA that he was being agressive to the point that they refused to work with him.. in fact one of the reasons my car was never able to be looked at in person by USAA was because they were threatened by his demeanor. I am not in any way defending USAA, because they were horrible as well. But I truly believe Eddie was not helping the scenario after all I had learned from suing a major insurance company and talking to multiple managers at both Saleen and USAA. After I got the quote for 24500 back for my bumper repair I immediately freaked out and I called him in tears because I was so distraught and confused. I was worried he was going to put my car under a mechanics lien because I couldn't pay the additional 15000 to get it out... after multiple visits and trying to get him to explain why he did what he did to my vehicle, I ended up going in debt to get the vehicle out because of the possibility for the mechanics lien and because the insurance company wasn't going to pay. Three months later I hired a lawyer to assist and we sent multiple demand letters with no luck. I ended up reporting Eddie to the better business bureau in which he got very aggressive about and told me it was a complete waste of time. Not to mention the man told me he was going to commit tax fraud on the excessive storage payments he was claiming, some of which was already paid for, none of which was valid to my insurance company. In the end I had to sue.. and only got half back. This was the worst experience I have had with a business and the fact that he believed he was just nice the entire time was baffling. I called another paintless dent removal company in addition to Dent Devil about repairing a one-and-a-half-inch crease on my 2016 Volvo XC hood in order to compare pricing. I sent pictures to both companies, and I was told by the other company that the scope of the work was beyond their abilities and referred me to an auto body repair shop. Eddie looked at the pictures and stated that he could repair it. He came to my house and not only did the repair, but you can't even see where the crease was. In addition, he buffed out a scrape mark that I had on my left rear fender. What made the experience especially pleasing was Eddie's patience and attention to detail. Eddie's paint less dent removal is awesome! I got a door ding on my Q50 on the rear quarter panel right on the body line probably the worst spot since the factory placed a thick metal backing and insulation. I initially went to Bumper Doc and I was told by their Paint less ding specialist that it's gonna need body shop work because the backside of the damage was in accessible. I was told that they would have to repainted rear of car and also the rear driver side door to match. Needless to say I was not gonna paint 1/4 of my car for a ding the size of a quarter. I'm convinced that Eddie is hands down, the best in the paintless dent repair business. I made an account on yelp just so I can give him a 5 star review. Here's my story: Someone had backed into the door of my Lexus IS300 and it created about a big and relatively deep dent. I looked online and decided to head to Dent Time based on the testimonials, before/after pictures, and the fact that the owner Myke had been in the business for 17 years and even trains people for PDR. I dropped my car off and was told it would be ready in about 4 hours. I received a call about an hour later with him saying he couldn't remove the dent and I had to go to a body shop because the metal just bounced back and forth when he tried to push it out. I decided to get a second opinion and went to Eddie because I wanted to avoid getting a new door and paint at a body shop as OEM paint/material is always the best (new door also would lead to diminished value of the car...). Long story short, he took the time to explain to me in detail his methods and said he could do the job, but would need a couple days to do it right. I went to pick it up today and wow, his work is truly amazing. Before/after pictures should be posted on his website soon. I had an appointment on august 24th for my Tesla model 3. I came in and was immediately helped. I got door edging (I think that's what it's called) it's essentially a mold on the edges on my door so if it hits something it won't scratch the paint. They did an amazing job! Super friendly, very professional. The edging is clear so if you have any scuffs previously I would suggest getting that covered before bringing it in. I first came to Dent Devils because of some scratches on the bumper of a car I was preparing to sell. Eddie not only did a great job of sprucing it up, but also did it for free! It's one of the ways he promotes his work...along with his honesty and integrity. When I subsequently brought another car in for some serious body work (I'd had an altercation with a misplaced cement barrier on a freeway exit...oops), he not only did a great job with the repairs, but also made sure my insurance company didn't steer me away from doing those repairs in the manner required by Honda (to maintain my new car warranty). We had a real struggle with the appraiser and his supervising adjuster, but in the end, Eddie's informed and determined advocacy won the day. Hello fellow San Diegan's I never ever do reviews esp a bad one and this shop right here is by far the worst of the worst. If I can give a negative 10 star I will do so. When I first brought my car in for an estimation I thought he was a legitimate and honest guy as he sound really genuine and humble on the phone. Btw, he talks too damn much! It's like get straight to the point already! It never crossed my mind when I dropped my car off and he asked me "how much do you love your car? I can estimate this car as a total lost if you want me too"! Sounds grimey and fishy doesn't it? Mind you (my car was just a dent on the bumper) He sent in his estimation to the insurance company I was going through. He went on charging all sorts of stuff (digital images, oem headlights, shaving side panels, painting it to match the side, the hood, the fenders) etc etc... the list goes on.... FYI; my headlights weren't crack or broken. His estimation came about $4900. The insurance company contacted me and said this guy was charging excessively! I contacted him right away after my car being in there for exactly 1 week. He wouldn't give me an estimate of how much it would cost me to withdrawal my car out from his shop if I didn't want to proceed. He got pretty erratic and loud with both me and my husband over the phone and just kept going around in circles with us saying it would be a total lost for him if I withdrew my car now. We have the RIGHT to fix our car anywhere we please but he just wasn't having it. I told him if he can put my bumper and parts back to how it was when I dropped it off, give me an estimate of how much it cost for the labor of dismantling the bumper and putting it back on and also the cost of the storage for the time my car was stored there. After a few hrs, he demanded CASH from me of $828.80 or he won't release my car. I thought to myself that this man would be difficult to work with so after work I drove myself down from riverside county to make it in time before he closed. He still had my car on jacks, bumpers and side fenders and one headlight off, refusing to give me my car stating that he has the right to refuse any form of payment but cash. He had no idea I had called SDPD prior to me arriving there! Thank goodness I did and the cop came in time. The cop went in his office and asked him why won't he release my car? His words were "I am only accepting cash, and cash only with her" is he really trying to evade taxes??? Fishy right?! Police shook his head and said he couldn't do that. He told Eddie that he is going to accept whatever form of payment I give him and he's going to release my car to me. Yes!!!!! That made my day as I seriously wasn't going to get my car had I not called the cops. He was beyond livid. I can see it in his face but he had no choice but to release my car. He wasn't very happy about it. He reverse my car out with one tail light off, no bumpers and no side fenders. Something I did not sign up for. He left us driving our car out the lot, unsafe! While my husband was driving down the freeway a black protection piece from the bottoms of my car tires and fenders came flying off hitting our rental. God forbid something had happened we could of gotten in an accident and there could of been damages to our rental. He was extremely unprofessional about the situation, even contacting a 3rd party who works for him who had no part to do with this. He was even agitated and argumentative through text (I have all proof) For future reference, BY law nobody can hold onto your car and demand CASH definitely NOT from and unprofessional auto body shop. This is why I take my cars to the dealers. A lesson learned, for sure! To save y'all the headache don't come here. He will leave you with a car in an unsafe condition. Needless to say, I will be contacting the BBB and Breuer of automotive repair. I wish you better luck next time in hopes you won't scam the next victim who is vulnerable.
