This is a small local chain that has a few locations, but I usually end up at this one since it is closest to my house. I've eaten there several times and gotten takeout as well. The menu is pretty standard, though they have some interesting combinations and a few things you don't normally find on breakfast menus, plus you can get breakfast or lunch anytime. I've found the Delectable Power Wrap to be my favorite thing, though apparently it comes with potatoes now instead of fruit like it says on the menu, which is fine. I prefer hash browns in general, but here they only offer home fries, which are decent. Omelettes are nice but some of the other dishes come with too much sauce (again, that's more my taste though). Portions are just a bit smaller than I'd like, but for most people I'm sure it's not a problem. I've had some trouble with long waits on takeout, so it didn't really buy me much time to do that, but overall it's still a good breakfast place. read more

I guess that every once in a while I have to remind myself why I rarely eat at chain restaurants. This morning I got my reminder at the Delectable Egg. The only good thing in my experience today was my waiter, Jesus, who was prompt, timely and courteous. As to the rest of the meal, not so much. I had The waffle breakfast with scrambled eggs and link sausage. The scrambled eggs were OK, but how can you screw up scrambled eggs? The sausage was just passable, if that. The waffle was simply terrible, fluffy, but with no outside crust, and utterly tasteless. The syrup was straight out of a Log Cabin bottle, slightly sweet, with no maple flavor at all. When we were kids, my brother learned to make waffles at a very early age, so we could snack on them at night while watching the late movie. He was making better waffles at 10 years old. This place is garbage, never order food from here or stop by to eat; you'll regret it. My GF and I ordered food to go, the restaurant itself texted us and told us the ETA; an hour and 20 later and they are completely unable to give us an estimate on how much longer... we ordered two omelettes... I literally could've gone to the store, bought the eggs, cheese, meat, and veggies, prepped all the ingredients, chopped and parboiled potatoes before frying them in oil alongside nicely seasoned sautéed onions; culminating to bring to life a beautiful omelette and home fry breakfast for myself and my girlfriend......... all in the time I waited for this piece of shit restaurant to not even give me a response or the dignity of speaking with anyone who isn't a hostess. "Whaaaa we were super busy whaaaa" your establishment is garbage and had it been labeled properly as such on the website, I never would've wasted my precious time staring at this eyesore of a so-called business. A just fine place for breakfast, especially if you're in a rush. I have never had my food come out so fast at a sit-down! The food itself was decent - I had french toast with cream cheese and strawberry jam, and a scrambled egg on the side. Nothing impressive, just simple breakfast food. 21 minutes just to get orange juice .menu says its fresh squeezed but it is not it tastes like it's from concentrate. The food is not a big deal. At least for the breakfast part of it I ordered french toast. If I were to come here again order a lunch item. read more

Came here for breakfast with some friends and relatives, one of whom lives near here. I got pancakes and a side of ham (I don't eat eggs) while the others in my party did get eggs. We all were pleased with our selections, as everything came fresh, well-cooked and very flavorful without being overpowering. Coffee came promptly and was refilled on a regular basis. Our breakfasts were served very quickly and the staff was helpful without hovering over us too much. We eat here all the time because my husband is basic and eats the same thing over and over haha. Anyway, we've eaten here about ten times now in the year we've lived in Denver and every time we get something they short us. The food isn't bad. It's not the best but it's not bad. However it's annoying that each time we get an order for pickup, we notice it's missing a couple of items. I usually let it go but today I called on our pick up order, letting them know I got the total wrong meal, and she offered to take my name down and put it up front for next time we go in for a free breakfast. Well I don't want to go back because we always get the wrong stuff and just writing my name down doesn't really do much. Nice gesture I guess? But pretty old fashion way of handling a complaint. On that note, the breakfast burrito that I got but didn't order isn't very good. I wish they gave me the tacos I ordered. The vanilla latte has no vanilla flavor despite what the woman on the phone says. Sorry. On the plus side, my husband really enjoys the two egg breakfast, so there's always that! We came here because it was close to where my father was getting surgery. I ordered the hash browns and my mom ordered a club sandwich. The food was out in minutes and the staff was nice. The food was hot and fresh mom says club sandwich was fresh and good. Loved the place and would definitely recommend it. read more

This is one of the breakfast places in East Denver! My husband and I go regularly, a couple of times a month and the food is always great! They take care of their customers. We recently had a takeout order that was made incorrectly. The manager was so kind and quickly credited us two meals. We got our free meals today and they were top notch! I had recently moved into the neighborhood. I just love to do brunch. So there I was. I ordered an Orange County. All I can say. It was disgusting! The omelet was rubbery. Tasted like those eggs that come out from a box. I had to search for the avocado and the cheese was some tasteless yellow gooey thing on the top. I ended up throwing up in the restaurant bathroom...UUGGGHHH. How hard is it to make a decent omelet..if not a great one. One basic requirement though....use real eggs!! read more

Found The Delectible Egg in a search and even though it was a bit of a drive we decided to try it. I kept saying the whole way that it better be good (I hated the drive). It was worth it!! Worst breakfast ever! We were here this morning and got right in. Our server was very nice but the food was awful. I ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich and obviously the kitchen only had a vague idea what that was. It is not a triple decker cold ham, turkey & cheese sandwich on under cooked soggy French toast with powder sugar on top! It truly was inedible. I asked for the house potatoes crispy, and got them burned. Our waiter did not charge me for this disaster. No one offered to refill our coffee. The whole place needs an update from the food coming out of the kitchen, staff attitude and overall restaurant appearance. I lovED this location before I ran into their newest manager. Male, .....Hispanic, (NO RACISM please) Ok, soooo here is the situation....I was eating brunch with two business associates who happened to be black, I happen to be white. (NO RACISM please).....I had coupons to use. My printer printed a couple more than I needed so, we each gave a discount coupon to a table! YeS!!! I get it...They are trying to make money. So, we gave out 3 coupons for discounts to people we didn't know, we were reprimanded by this manager and one of the female (longer termer) who I won't describe because you would know here when you saw her if I did and she does make her living doing this work as a professional waitress, needless to say was REPRIMANDED for doing this and then I was interrogated about how I got the coupon and if I was the person named on the coupon. ARE YOU KIDDING!!! LOL So anyhow, he proceeded to wag his finger at me and argue his point with me. WHO DOES THAT? Nowadays it seems like everyone in the customer service industry feels the need to be right? When did the customer is always (OK 87%, by my standards because I am the damn bitch spending her money with you) AND TIP YOU!!! go by the wayside because the service person "Knows, they are right!!!" Comon people. So, I say to you, if The Delectable Egg can' t give 4 tables a simple discount, very I think it was freaking 15%, seriously, then I'm not interested in patronizing them. We were seduced by a $2 coupon so we decided to begin our 4th of July with breakfast at the a Delectable Egg. My husband has retired & I have no income during the summer months, so we try desperately to be frugal when we can while still enjoying life. My husband inquired if they had any unique syrups for our pancakes & the waitress brought each of us an ounce if real maple; neglecting to inform us that that ounce cost each of us $2.49, so an extra $5 on our bill. Then they wouldn't honor their $2 coupon on my iPhone "since it was not printed out for them". Ridiculous since having the coupon in the iPhone eliminates paper use! Not at all happy with their customer service. I received no feedback from customer service despite writing them re: these issues. I will no longer attend this restaurant. read more

Been to this breakfast place a few times and I always get one of their Benedict dishes not sure which one maybe the California or the green eggs. It's pretty tasty but nothing crazy or unique about it. This place has been good each time though the service is not great. The restaurant is never dull when I go and it usually takes a while to get the order taken and so on. Last time my coffee wS forgotten about for nearly 20 minutes even after I reminded our sever several times that I had ordered a coffee. The decor and ambience is old, not modern at all. I think if you have guests coming into town there are definitely more hip and fun places to take them to for brunch. This place although nothing wrong with the food, is just average to me and just like any other breakfast place you could go to like village inn or ihop- don't get me wrong I love those places but would really rather enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant just as much as the food and try something different. This is a good spot if you're hungry and want a decent breakfast experience . read more
