Our experience was very good unlike previous Yelp Reviews, but in line with the favorable Google reviews. We really liked the vibe, funky retro decor and the food & drink choices available at Jelly. Customers were lively and enjoying their meals & combinations and was contagious. Staff was friendly, hustling and helpful. We all loved our choices and fulfilling. We appreciated not just having the usual breakfast fare to make our selection. There were many we wanted to try. The three of us shared sampling the 8 varieties of their donut holes - YUMMY Our son is a graduate student at DU and while wanting to try another dish, still stick with the Aztec Rice Hash because you don't see this combination elsewhere. I really wanted to try the Avocado Caprese, but wanted eggs and The Hillside Scramble got me with the roasted red pepper. My husband deviated from his Egg Benedict tendency to get the Southern Style Biscuits & Gravy for a change of pace. The biscuits were huge and tasty. The Iced White Mocha was spot on for my coffee tastebuds and the Cortado was equally tasty for our son. Our son scored leftovers as we became full. A good breakfast place near D.U.'s campus. Lots of egg choices. Parking can be a problem. The staff is well trained but at times they appear short-handed. There is nothing special about the interior seating but they do have a fun collection of old cereal boxes on the walls. Prices are comparable to similar restaurants. I love Jelly and I was excited to try this location as I usually go to the one closer to Capitol Hill. The menu was the same and I had my usual favorite: Aztec rice hash. My husband and I eat at Jelly frequently, and we always go back! It's affordable, delicious, and usually not too long of a wait. The restaurant is diner style, but with some more modern colors thrown in, and is well decorated with vintage cereal boxes and art. The breakfast burrito is always delicious, and big enough to take home leftovers. My husband switches his order around, but loves the biscuits and gravy as well as the chilaquiles. Reservation recommended for brunch-ing I can't speak for the non-GF food as a celiac bruncher, but my non GF friends seem to enjoy their meals! As a celiac diner I mostly focus on 1. Variety of options on a menu and 2. Execution of food tastiness. I would not recommend this place to anyone not even my worst enemy. there was food on my utensils when they gave it to me I asked for a new one he went in the back and just smudge it didn't get me new utensils like I asked the waiter didn't ask me once if I needed a refill on my water they didn't come over at all to check up on us. I wish I could give a zero star, but the lowest I can give is a 1. They also charged me for chocolate chips when I didn't get any chocolate chips on my pancakes. Honestly, the one star is for the toast. The toast was presented well. The rest I would describe as hot garbage, but it was cold. I ordered the Hillside and had the potatoes as the side. Let's start with the potatoes. The poor, plain ass, barely boiled, unseasoned potatoes that got no love on the griddle. Help these poor spuds out! The scramble was so bad that I left most of it on the plate. The eggs were runny, the cheese barely melted, the sausage dry, and the peppers wet and soggy. To make bad even worse, it was all lukewarm and on a slightly chilly plate. The plate of food wasn't worth the $16 charged. Denver restaurants are struggling because there is no perceived value and people have experiences like mine and stop going out. read more

There was the downside that they didn't give us cutlery when we sat down. We didn't even have it when the food came. So that was kind of annoying, but not a deal breaker. They also didn't bring creamer for my friend's coffee, even though they asked him if he wanted some. Again, annoying but not a deal breaker. It was a Sunday so I'm sure there was a lot going on. The food though was delicious. Got a Basic Breakfast with a cinnamon roll pancake, and of course, a mimosa. Sweet and savoury is always my jam. When we arrived, we waited at the front for about five minutes without being greeted. Came here for Saturday breakfast with my partner. Seating inside, at a small bar, and an outdoor covered patio. Was able to get seated within 10 minutes. They do have a waitlist in Yelp, which is super helpful because it's gets busy quick. The hostess and wait staff were great, took orders quickly and always grabbing empty plates. Jelly was our brunch stop after a morning at the Denver Botanical Gardens. We didn't wait long to be seated, despite the place being packed. Let's talk about the fab parts first. The place is cute, a bit of a throw back to the late 80s and 90s with cereal boxes lining the walls. Absolute flashback. The servers were also friendly. They were slammed and this likely impacted a few things with our order, but they were always friendly and smiling. The donut bites were delish. If you've been but haven't had these, what are you waiting for? We had 8 - 4 of the seasonal special and 4 of the cinnamon sugar. Yum. Most everyone in my party enjoyed their mail, minus me. Isn't that a bummer when your meal doesn't stand up to what you see on other plates? Our friends were gluten free and raved over the bread - cakier and much tasty than they are accustomed to having. My partner spoke well of his dish. Mine? Not so much. I ordered the Haco Chili Benedict and left 3/4 of it on the plate. I ordered a Bloody Mary and left it also. The biscuits were very undercooked and raw. The bloody was incredibly salty. Sad girl that morning, lol. We'll go back. One dish outta four was likely a fluke. We came here for Mother's Day and were very excited to try this place. We loved the decor, all the retro cereal boxes all over the walls were awesome. We did have a reservation and were late by 3 minutes and they did give our table to another party so we ended having to wait an hour after our reservation on the wait list. That was a little frustrating but they did make it up to us by covering the first round of drinks for everyone. Our server was awesome and he took great care of us on a busy day.
