Don't expect much if you go here. The portions are pathetic. My wife and I exited the highway on our way home wanting to take a break from the traffic. We decided to get ice cream in Mason, Michigan. I ordered a double dip in a waffle cone and my wife ordered a single scoop in a cup. When we received our purchase I was taken aback by the small amount of product in both purchases. While I was encouraging my wife to order more, we were interrupted by someone who claimed I was insulting his business. I replied that I had never been served such a small serving in my travels around Michigan. (Note: We estimate an individual scoop is around 1/4 cup.) Open all year! Because ice cream treats are always in season! This is a real old-style ice cream *parlor*, not just an ice cream cone walk-up counter. Sit inside or outside (depending on weather) if you wish. Ambience is bright, casual fun outing. A local artist draws seasonal pictures on the large wall chalkboard, the opposite wall is hung with framed pages from vintage Mason newspapers that also change with the season. They have soft-serve as well as hand-dip. Classic ice cream flavors are usually in stock, others are seasonal and rotate availability. Most of the ice creams are made by quality regional producers. Some are made in-house, and they are delicious! Their house-made butter pecan is excellent, better than commercial versions. They make shakes, sundaes, malts, floats, razzles - also grilled cheese sandwiches. Daily Scoop also offers house-made dairy-free sorbets, so there is some treat choice for everyone. On the counter next to where you order there is a display with models of ice cream serving sizes so you can see what size is best for your young child as well as your adults. This is my favorite ice cream shop in Mason! They have so many options available and are indoors so you can get out of the heat in the summer or enjoy a cold treat in the winter! The staff is always super friendly as well and will always make sure you leave happy! read more

A cute place for ice cream in Mason. 2 small tables in the front and some tables inside the store. Friendly staffs. We have been so many times to different ice cream stores lately, try to squeeze more of summer vibes before it will end very soon. We ordered S'more & toasted coconut with waffle cones. Waffle cone is charged at 1$, while 3 scoops ice cream is at 2.90$. I think I like the coconut flavor that my husband ordered better than my S'more. Will need to come back very soon. read more

if you want ice cream, you may consider this shoppe. however, even though they have numerous good brands of ice cream & a full menu of sundaes, glaciers, slushies, homemade waffle cones & more...be prepared to pay through the nose for the diminutive servings you'll receive. i ordered a turtle sundae, which for being a 2-scoop serving, was tiny with few pecans & butterscotch instead of the anticipated caramel topping...(yes, i know the difference.) the banana split was not like it was in the olden days where you got 3 flavors of ice cream, this only had vanilla. all in all i was very disappointed for the over $10. price tag & ended up at Big Boy for a burger. read more

You walk into this little ice cream parlor and it's a cute little tiny place that's nestled in a cute little country town. I would have given it "5 stars" because the taste of the ice cream here, is so creamy and natural and tasty. Therefore on taste alone, it gets all 5 stars! But we have to include everything so I had to give it one less star, because although the ice cream cone was only 1$, it was like a "baby" cone or a "junior baby" cone! The "one scoop" was the tiniest scoop I've ever seen in my life! I would prefer to pay a bit more and get a nice big scoop of tasty ice cream. I got the chocolate chip mint (although they give the ice cream "special" names and I cannot remember what they were called, I'm sorry). My daughter got a "berry bash...." something or other....LOL....sorry..I just cannot remember the cute names they had for everything; but hers was a fruity/berry ice cream with little crunchies in it. My husband got something that I've never seen before at any ice cream parlor! It was so different but soooo yummy! It had a cool name also...which for the life of me, I can't remember again..but it was a yellow ice cream with brown chunky specs in it. It was "chocolate and banana" ice cream! It was sooo good and tickled my taste buds so much, that I cannot wait to go back to visit my daughter, just to go to the ice cream parlor and get that chocolate and banana flavored ice cream. They offered many different flavors of ice cream, along with chocolate and vanilla "soft serve". They have sugar cones, cake cones and waffle cones. Some of the waffle cones are flavored either vanilla, plain or chocolate! My daughter had a vanilla waffle cone and she really enjoyed it. I may try one of the chocolate ones next time. I will say that the lady behind the counter was very kind and had a smile on her face. I felt welcomed there, as did my family. This establishment is a nice little touch in a very cute little "special" town, that I'd never seen before! I do hope that they might someday charge a bit more and make the scoop bigger than a "baby" cone! read more

Obviously it's nice to have a local ice cream store in Mason that stays open year around and uses MSU dairy ice cream. However, I've never been to an ice cream shop that gives such stingy scoops. Come on, give customers a real scoop not a little scoop the size of a golf ball. If it's a financial decision, then charge me 60 cents more for a real scoop. The chocolate malts are incredible. They carry MSU Dairy ice cream which despite how everyone raves over it, I thought was terrible when I tried it a few years ago. So bad that I havent given it a second chance. Very gummy and artificial....which I hate. Anyway, with added milk and powdered malt, the gumminess that the chocolate ice cream may or may not have these days is not noticeable. The shop has a vintage vibe going and there is always a lot of masonites inside and loitering in front of the storefront in the evening. read more
