Soft Serve in cup with added toppings
Stacy M.

I have to be honest, my experience was 5 stars. I have never been to Dairy Dan's before--in fact, I'm vegan--so I was planning on this being a one time stop. However, I'm going to visit again. As a first time customer, the cashier took her time to educate me about their menu. I was entirely surprised when she told me that they had vegan options. I mean, I didn't expect that since I knew I was going to a place that had "dairy" in its name. I didn't choose the vegan option because I was already set on having my stomach hurt that day lol. We both ordered a soft serve but in a cup and added toppings. Very cheap, came up to like $5.50. With a spot like this--non chain restaurant--of course the ice cream tasted great.

Snickers and Reese Flurry.

My boyfriend and I are loves of Dairy Queen's blizzards until we had Dairy Dan! Lucky for us we stopped at DQ to order blizzards with snickers. They told us that snickers was unavailable indefinitely! Who takes snickers off the menu!? Thankfully, I suggested we give Dairy Dan a try since my boyfriend always says there is always a long line. We both ordered flurrys, mine with reese and snickers and his just snickers. It was sooooooo good! Instantly I noticed that unlike DQ, Dairy Dan puts huge pieces of snickers in their ice cream. I legit probably ate a whole snickers bar in my small cup. I also noticed they use real ice cream versus the soft serve. We will be back Dairy Dan. No wonder there is always a line! Oh, and you can do drive through if you don't feel like waiting outside! Enjoy!

Large flurry

Stopped by Dairy Dan for dessert over the weekend and liked their flurries. I tried a medium cookie dough flurry, and my boyfriend got a large cheesecake flurry with Reese's cups and pieces added to it. We thought the prices were fair for the size of the flurries. ($10 total for a medium and large. Check our my pictures for a side-by-side comparison of the medium and large sizes.) One thing I didn't love was that we went through the drive through and as the passenger, I couldn't see the menu without literally ducking down, bending myself over towards the driver side, and twisting my head to look up at the window/menu. I definitely recommend getting out of the car and ordering at the walk up window if you have a small sedan. (It probably isn't as bad in smid size SUV, van, or truck. You could also take a peak at the picture I posted of the drive up menu so you don't have to spend time deciding when you get there!

Happy cone

The workers were very helpful and friendly and even allowed me to combine flurry flavors! They give very generous portions on add-ins and include whipped cream and cheery unlike many ice cream establishments! The ice cream tasted great and will return when in the area again!

Our family loves Dairy Dan! Their Reese's cup sundae is so good. The line can be long, but it's worth the wait.

Open all year! Because ice cream treats are always in season!…read more This is a real old-style ice cream *parlor*, not just an ice cream cone walk-up counter. Sit inside or outside (depending on weather) if you wish. Ambience is bright, casual fun outing. A local artist draws seasonal pictures on the large wall chalkboard, the opposite wall is hung with framed pages from vintage Mason newspapers that also change with the season. They have soft-serve as well as hand-dip. Classic ice cream flavors are usually in stock, others are seasonal and rotate availability. Most of the ice creams are made by quality regional producers. Some are made in-house, and they are delicious! Their house-made butter pecan is excellent, better than commercial versions. They make shakes, sundaes, malts, floats, razzles - also grilled cheese sandwiches. Daily Scoop also offers house-made dairy-free sorbets, so there is some treat choice for everyone. On the counter next to where you order there is a display with models of ice cream serving sizes so you can see what size is best for your young child as well as your adults. The reviewer below who complained about serving sizes did not pay attention to these size models. If you have questions, just ask. The staff is cheerful, welcoming, and helpful to everyone. And of course, there is free street parking in downtown Mason.

We decided to get ice cream in Mason, Michigan. I ordered a double dip in a waffle cone and my wife ordered a single scoop in a cup. When we received our purchase I was taken aback by the small amount of product in both purchases. While I was encouraging my wife to order more, we were interrupted by someone who claimed I was insulting his business. I replied that I had never been served such a small serving in my travels around Michigan. (Note: We estimate an individual scoop is around 1/4 cup.) The picture is the cup for 1 scoop and ours were only 1/2 full.

From the get-go, everything customer-service related was a no-go! - The line was literally out the door @ 1 PM on a Sunday. While a couple of employees were taking orders, we saw quite a few standing at the counter doing nothing or standing there with their phones. - Horrible customer service - from ordering our meals to realizing we weren't provided fries for any of our combo meals (after they hand-delivered our food/tray to our table) to having to go back up to the counter (with my receipt to show that we had three combo meals AND fries) to the servers getting upset about us asking about our missing fries to them then slamming fresh fries down on the counter (assuming from frustration/being upset). Totally uncalled for in my opinion! Aside from the poor customer service at the counter, the food was actually good! The food was delicious and fresh per usual! I had the Chicken Tenders Basket while our daughter had the Kids Chicken Tender Basket. Our chicken tenders came out fresh, hot (temperature), and crispy (the perfect kind of crispy - chicken was not dry)! Our daughter always orders a side of cheese sauce for dipping as well! It's really good - I get it from time to time too! My husband ordered the Culver's Deluxe Double Basket. He really enjoyed his burger and shared that everything was super fresh! While the food was tasty, hot, and fresh, I'm not sure if this offsets how the employees make their customers feel. I do not recommend this Culver's location! (It looks like others may agree - per this location's current star rating)!

Consistent and delicious!…read more I've been to this Culver's location a handful of times over the years and am always satisfied with the quality and consistency of the food and service! The staff is always really friendly, patient and efficient, also keeping the restaurant very clean! As far as the food goes, it's consistent with all the good Culver's restaurants I've been to and always hits the spot!
