I can't comment on the quality of the donuts being that I never got the ones I ordered. I placed an order for a dozen donuts on their website, which contained a guarantee of delivery to a designated location or a phone call if the order could not be filled. They did neither. My significant other got us Paczki from Groovy Donuts today and they were excellent! I was surprised that I loved the blueberry one best! (I normally prefer cream but that was my second favorite followed by apple as a close third. They were all definitely fresh and I loved the airy texture. My brother and I have been gluten free for over a decade and these are by far the best gluten free donuts we've ever had - they're even better than Katz and I didn't think that was possible! The cherry cheesecake flavor they did for Mother's Day is quite possibly the best thing I've ever eaten. My mom and family that ate the regular donuts said they were great. (Ignore the melted long John, that happened in my car, no fault of the business! My mom just scraped the frosting back on top and it was good as new). I would actually give them a 3.5 but that's not an option. Overall - they were decent but not impressive. The star is definitely the cherry cake. It has GREAT cherry flavor BUT it was missing that crispy outside and was pretty light on the glaze. The blueberry also had decent flavor but was a smidge dry. The caramel old fashioned was what I looked most forward too and great in concept but the caramel flavor was lacking. Again good... not super impressed though. My bf has the cherry apple fritter and said "nope." We prefer a crispy outside with a soft center and this was just a pile of dough. Didn't really get the cherry flavor in the few bites I had. I'm a bit of a donut connoisseur and routinely try local donut shops when traveling. Wish I skipped this one. Saw their sign on the freeway and decided to pull off. Well, it's 1.5 miles, then a left at the light, then another 1/4 mile. Finally got there. It was a bit before noon and they still had a large selection. Bought 3 different ones to try and a cup of coffee. Coffee: undrinkable and I threw it out. Tasted old and sour. Yuk. Sour cream donut was ok. It lacked the dense texture and did not have much flavor. Lemon filled had bland, flavorless dough and very little filling. Lemon filling clearly out of can. They had one I never heard of but described as yeast dough instead of cake dough. It was bland, bready, and not good. Took bite of each and pitched the rest. 0 for 4. Not worth the stop. read more

I'm a local and was super excited to have a real-life doughnut shop in town. I ordered 4 doughnuts to try, a double chocolate, Boston cream, red velvet with cream cheese, and a glazed cherry. The Boston cream had a decent flavor but didn't really stand out. The other three cake doughnuts were just bad. They were all chewy, like there was too much yeast or something. When you pressed into them, they stayed compressed like a wet sponge. I don't have a problem with the pricing as I expect to pay premium prices for a premium product. Was Driving by Today and saw that they were Open, went in. A short thin young lady waited on me. Although their Donuts are only good I see their Prices went up, as well! I was Disappointed on my service and how things turned out, I will NOT Go Back again. I only Order 2 Boston Creams and 2 Apple Fritters, it came to a surprising $10.40 + Tax = $11.02. But the most irritating thing was the young lady put the 2 Apple Fritters On Top of my 2 Boston Creams, IN THE SMALL BAG. I did have just a couple of more stops to do, then head home. I got home to see allot/most of the Glase Sugar melted ON (all over) my 2 Boston Creams, a bit of a mess and inside around the paper Bag also (the bag seems Greasy and wet around the Bottom of the Bag, even before Opening, I thought something might be "A Miss". Since you folks are supposedly the "Donut People", I would have thought (as allot/most Donut shops do, (put them in a little Box, laying Flat) AND/OR put some Parchment paper on the Top of Boston Creams. This certainly would have Eliminated any Run-On from the other different Donuts, all the mess, etc. So, not only were these only 4 Donuts rather Expensive but the Mess I had in the Bag is, I think, unprofessional, Not being aware and careless! Come On Groovy Donuts - Use Your Head? FYI: This same thing happened a couple of Months ago at this Location ALSO (a different person waited on Me), that time, I just Chalked it up as a Bad Day Experience! Must try the twists and velvet creme tops. my favorite part is the sugar granule texture which is clearly different from nearby franchises' and groceries', giving a sense that they are made with care immediately with the first bite. Tired this place today at the beer and doughnut festival in Kalamazoo. They did great! Second place, voters choice??? You guys rocked it!! I got to talk to the 2 people who run this business and you can see their passion and I love their story. They stayed up alllll night to make sure they could participate and their hard work showed.
