My sons and daughter-in-law arranged for my husband to have a nice Father's Day dinner while we were here in Custer. Little did we know that the meal - and the experience - would be unlike any other that we've had for a long time. The Walleye Chermoula was simply to die for and was perfectly complimented by rice & beans. You would think it would be a weird combo, but you MUST give it a try. The Bread pudding was one of the best that we've had, as well. The staff was running around like crazy trying to keep everyone happy during a busy dinner hour. Wow! Don't be fooled by the store front look. This is a 5 star restaurant right in Custer. We had the fish n' chips and the Pub sandwich and both were SO GOOD!!! I had the wine bc I don't typically love home-brews, but I tiried the pineapple hard cider and WOW was it good! I just wish I could have tried more...we will definitely be back. read more

The food was good but the serving was huge, which is good if you're planning on having leftovers later. Also, it was little pricey.

This restaurant is a must. The delicious food is scratch made with decent portions. They are not huge, but you get FULL. And of you have room at the end of your meal you have to get the bread pudding. I know, bread pudding is not usually what you want at the end of a meal, but theirs is DEVINE. The service here is the best I received in South Dakota. The staff are all friendly, know their menu, and they are very responsive. read more

Great service and delicious food. Tried something more unique today: chicken artichoke sandwich and it was awesome! Never thought of putting spinach artichoke dip on a sandwich but it works. I agree with all the rest Tried it because of recommendation from a store clerk in town Friendly greeting . Needed some home cooked food, I had ranchers pie which was huge and I loved every bite It is ground beef mashed potatoes and veggies. Other dish was special pasta chicken alfredo . It had broccoli and the chicken was perfect. We could not decide which was best so we shared. Wasatch beer was a delight as it is from my alma mater town in Utah. The light wood on the bar was beautiful Loved the ambiance of the place and our server who may be the owner made us feel like he really cared. To top it off we got 10% off because we were staying at the delightful clean rocket motel down the street. Two definite winners for sure. read more

Food was terrible! Shrimp was bad, extremely fishy! Breaded fish was soggy. Two out of three meals were barely touched. We chose to eat inside because of the amount of flies outside. Absolutely fabulous! My husband and I just left this place and we were so happy to stop in on our ride around the black hills. We shared the bison brisket sandwich which was the most tender meat I have probably eaten. It also had brie cheese which was super tasty. The cranberry bbq sauce was delicious also. We decided on the kettle chips as the side and they were crispy and seasoned perfectly, most likely homemade. The beers on tap were a great selection, we had the cider and a porter. We arrived on our motorcycle looking for a no frills grill with beer and wine. We found a gem! Craft beer and nice wine selection topped off the excellent food! My wife had the fish and chips entree. Walleye that was very tasty and the tartar sauce was homemade and unique. Superb flavor. I had the cheddar, bacon and jalapeño spread burger which was done exceptionally well also! Sides, salad dressings and all are home made. The mixed spring greens salad was also very refreshing, crisp and awesome taste. Garlic parmesan dressing was off the charts! Close the kitchen at 9 pm but served people if the walked in just a few minutes before. This with a fun, energetic and friendly staff this place is a destination eats location. Visited Custer during 4th of July week. Town was busy but we ate early 4:30 ish and were able to get right in. By the time we left the place was really filling up and had a wait. We split the Buffalo Brisket Sandwich with fries, it was plenty for 2 ladies. OMG it was delicious and the slaw was different but tasty. I would highly recommend. My 9 Y/o grandson had the chicken tenders after hearing from a local they had the best in town. He was not disappointed. The fries were probably homemade or at least looked like it with the peels still on. They were liked by all of us and we could not leave even one on our plates. I would highly recommend and I would definitely go back to try the rancher's pie. read more

The Beef Bulgogi was superb! It had great atmosphere and was an excellent stop after hiking at Custer State Park.

We were in Custer for several days for an extended vacation and wanted o try the food here after reading the reviews. The food might be fantastic but unfortunately, we never were even able to place an order. There's a link to order online, which states 'unavailable' when we clicked on it. Called, called, and called some more to place an order but the phone was busy for over an hour. Tried to place an order again the following day - the person that answered the phone stated they may be "too busy" and needed to check with the cook. Finally, with the cook's approval, we were allowed to place an order for pick up. While placing the order, they were out of several of the items we wanted. The employee stated, "yeah, we don't have that. We don't have that either" but did not offer any other suggestions. I told her we would have to take a look at the menu again to make another selection but the employee hung up on me. Such a strange experience. read more

The atmosphere was very welcoming lots of robust happy conversations and the staff was very friendly. I had the Autumn Lasagna it was delicious and had butternut squash in the layers. My son son had the BellyLT he said it was very good the jalapeño spread was tasty but didn't pack any heat. We had the spicy green bean appetizer breaded deep fried green beans and they do pack some heat and were very good. They have quite a variety of draft beers a very interesting mix of styles and brands. We are visiting from out of town but will likely be back during our stay in Custer. read more

This bar and grill is a huge upscale for food in Custer. Their fries are good, burgers and sandwiches as well. What stood out was the walleye chermoula. Wow! With the rice and beans done crispy hash style and the perfectly crisp tender asparagus, it was a meal I will return for again and again.
