Wish I lived closer to Eldersburg. This is a fantastic business. Beautifully polished interior bar, tables and booths and outdoor seating. Bar service by Jada, who also did table and outdoor service, was outstanding. Martinis on Thursday special were delicious as were the ahi tuna plates that we ordered. Definitely a stop for us when in the neighborhood.

Talk about unsuspecting. Hubby was charged with Vday dinner plans that included a nice dinner for us...and the kid. He waited too long and so had to search farther afield. I wasn't sure what to expect when we pulled up in a strip shopping center in eldersburg. For Vday they offered a three course menu and a smaller selection from their main menu. We went with the three course which included champagne. Appetizers: saffron risotto for me and watercress/mixed green salad for hubby Dinner: BBQ ribeye for hubby and scallops for me Dessert: Black Forest bread pudding and limoncello cake Kid: pasta with butter and root beer ice cream (Don't judge. The older he gets the more of a heathen he becomes about food. ) Freaking delicious. The risotto has a nice crunch from scallions to counter the creaminess. Salad was bright and crunchy. The scallops were tender with green beans and wild rice. Hubby cleared his rib eye and the balsamic Brussels sprouts. Even liked the crab Mac and cheese. The desserts were perfectly sweet and a nice complement to dinner. Hidden gem? For sure.

What a cute local spot. cozy atmosphere, clean setting, happy hours weekly, fresh local produce, house made dressing, unique combos created by chef and owner Arlene... Service was attentive and courteous. Definitely didn't expect such a great turn out on our first visit. Will return with fam+friends. Highly recommend!

We visited the Cork for the first time in a while and arrived too early for the full menu being served so we had to scale back our order, but there were still plenty of options available. We ordered baked oysters, smoked chicken wings, two faced tuna, and crab fondue, all to share. It was early (before 4 PM), so not very busy. We were greeted by our waitress Jenna, who provided great service and was very attentive even after the place started to fill up. She also has a good sense of humor which was very nice. The ambiance is pleasant with country music playing in the background without being too loud. The food was all very tasty and they had my favorite bourbon which is a bonus. We're definitely coming back.

3.5 ( rounded up thanks to friendly staff) We rarely think to stay in Carroll County when dining out. For me, there's something about the drive outside the county that adds to the full dining experience. But The County Cork has been on my radar for a while. And we should support local, right? So we made a reservation through Open Table and headed over to the County Cork in Eldersburg. Location--This bistro is across Liberty Road from Eldersburg Commons (where there's aTJMaxx, Walmart, etc). It is in a small strip shopping center with a good amount of parking. They've carved out a small space out front for al fresco dining, though I wish there was room for a full patio. Being part of the strip mall takes away from the elegance I know this place could have if they were elsewhere. Service--Hostess and wait staff were cool from the start. We are always happy when we are valued from the time we enter. So great job! I would suggest not touching glasses with the refill bottle though, especially with COVID. Food took a little longer than we hoped to come out. Food--had a good flavor. Definitely home cooked which I love. Smoked wings were not crispy, but nicely smoked and tender. Hubby really liked the Ahi tacos and fries. My crab cakes (2) were too small IMO. And not lump meat. I loved the champagne pepper sauce and the corn. Nice flavor combo. I ordered green beans instead of asparagus, but there was a miscommunication and asparagus came out. This was remedied, but took a while. Overall--We will revisit. Lovely staff, and chefs do a nice job ( though the crab cakes could be improved).

Rosemary and Garlic French fries. A+. You've wasted your time if you do not order this on the menu.

At the last minute, my friend and I were looking for a place that offered wine flights. We called The County Cork Wine Pub and were able to make a reservation for 9pm. They have their own parking lot, their seating is socially distanced, and it is very clean. Pros: * The wine selection is vast e.g. brut, spumante, sweet, dry, semisweet, rose, red, white, you name it. * Their wine flights include any wine that is offered by glass. You get three 2oz pours for $10 a flight. * Marie. She was our bartender and really was a highlight. I appreciated her amiability. She was attentive, very knowledgeable of the wine list, and gave wonderful recommendations. * Rosemary and garlic french fries... I've never had french fries that awesome In My Life. You've wasted your time if you do not order this on the menu. A+ Wine Flight 1: Blue Fish Riesling (D-), House White peach sangria (B-) and Caposaldo Moscato (B+). Wine Flight 2: Starborough Sauvignon blanc (A), House Red Sangria (A-), and 7 Moons Red Blend (A). The County Cork reminds me of Cheers. Everyone knows everyone and are very cordial. My friend and I were the only black faces there. At first we weren't sure how this was going to go, especially with the racial climate that we are in. Our momentary concern was in vain. We did not sense any negative vibes at all. It was a very comfortable environment. Cheers to the County Cork.

We drove up on a Saturday late afternoon in Aug 2025 and found parking across Main Street. There are other free lots nearby and sometimes a free shuttle around town on Sat and Sun. While waiting for the music, we staked out a table among some that people had reserved ahead of time in front of the wine shop, with other tables just outside the lot and more across the quiet side-street. From the wine shop, we got a nice little pinot noir to take home. They offered plastic glasses and a bucket full of ice, so we could have had that during the concert. They also have beers and ciders, gourmet snacks, and many clever and original accessories and crafts. The wine shop's owner encouraged up to walk to nearby Joe's Deli, and across to the Patapsco Distillery where the band set up under a small canopy, and we also got some food and drink from them for our table. And there's a sweet little ice cream shop across Main Street too! The band played light rock and folk and people were relaxed in conversations and enjoyment of the music. The gentle breeze kept us cool under sun-shielding umbrellas. This is nicely done weekly pair of concert, and the welcoming hostess and cooperative nearby shops make this a pleasant way to visit Sykesville on a Friday or Saturday evening, continuing through Nov 8th.

She guided us through the specials and since we were new to the restaurant steered is to some good choices. Our meals arrived hot fresh and delectable as this was fine cuisine and not your ordinary restaurant fare. We had a shrimp and chorizo dish and also a chicken and vegetable dish which both looked amazing and tasted even better. We were very pleasantly surprised and devoured both our entrees!! Lol! We even ordered dessert to go as we saw another table served a huge piece of ny cheesecake and being native New Yorkers on vacation we thought how appropo as we'll bring it to our room and enjoy as it was getting near there closing time (9pm.) We will definitely be back after enjoying so thoroughly our first picks as we are intrigued to see how the other dishes are. Our only small complaint would be the dessert we brought back to the room was a very small tiny slice and not like the one we saw in the restaurant being served to the table behind us and for ten bucks we were disappointed at its size even though it tasted great. Our waitress Piper made our evening enjoyable being so helpful and nice and we really appreciate that as the server can make or break your meal. Last thought many dogs allowed in restaurant. ( 3 at the time of our dinner.) We love dogs and we're petting the one nearest to us as it kept walking over to my wife as she was seated awaiting our order however it was inconvenient navigating the dining floor with so many pets about and eating with them in such close proximity was a turn off I will not lie and these were not service animals. Over all we really enjoyed Snallygasters as the service of Piper was great and the cusine superb and the atmosphere lively and clean. A bigger piece of dessert and more restrained pets would be an improvement in our opinion. Still all in all we give five stars and highly recommend. We will be back soon.
