Wish I lived closer to Eldersburg. This is a fantastic business. Beautifully polished interior bar, tables and booths and outdoor seating. Bar service by Jada, who also did table and outdoor service, was outstanding. Martinis on Thursday special were delicious as were the ahi tuna plates that we ordered. Definitely a stop for us when in the neighborhood.

Talk about unsuspecting. Hubby was charged with Vday dinner plans that included a nice dinner for us...and the kid. He waited too long and so had to search farther afield. I wasn't sure what to expect when we pulled up in a strip shopping center in eldersburg. For Vday they offered a three course menu and a smaller selection from their main menu. We went with the three course which included champagne. Appetizers: saffron risotto for me and watercress/mixed green salad for hubby Dinner: BBQ ribeye for hubby and scallops for me Dessert: Black Forest bread pudding and limoncello cake Kid: pasta with butter and root beer ice cream (Don't judge. The older he gets the more of a heathen he becomes about food. ) Freaking delicious. The risotto has a nice crunch from scallions to counter the creaminess. Salad was bright and crunchy. The scallops were tender with green beans and wild rice. Hubby cleared his rib eye and the balsamic Brussels sprouts. Even liked the crab Mac and cheese. The desserts were perfectly sweet and a nice complement to dinner. Hidden gem? For sure.

What a cute local spot. cozy atmosphere, clean setting, happy hours weekly, fresh local produce, house made dressing, unique combos created by chef and owner Arlene... Service was attentive and courteous. Definitely didn't expect such a great turn out on our first visit. Will return with fam+friends. Highly recommend!

We visited the Cork for the first time in a while and arrived too early for the full menu being served so we had to scale back our order, but there were still plenty of options available. We ordered baked oysters, smoked chicken wings, two faced tuna, and crab fondue, all to share. It was early (before 4 PM), so not very busy. We were greeted by our waitress Jenna, who provided great service and was very attentive even after the place started to fill up. She also has a good sense of humor which was very nice. The ambiance is pleasant with country music playing in the background without being too loud. The food was all very tasty and they had my favorite bourbon which is a bonus. We're definitely coming back.

3.5 ( rounded up thanks to friendly staff) We rarely think to stay in Carroll County when dining out. For me, there's something about the drive outside the county that adds to the full dining experience. But The County Cork has been on my radar for a while. And we should support local, right? So we made a reservation through Open Table and headed over to the County Cork in Eldersburg. Location--This bistro is across Liberty Road from Eldersburg Commons (where there's aTJMaxx, Walmart, etc). It is in a small strip shopping center with a good amount of parking. They've carved out a small space out front for al fresco dining, though I wish there was room for a full patio. Being part of the strip mall takes away from the elegance I know this place could have if they were elsewhere. Service--Hostess and wait staff were cool from the start. We are always happy when we are valued from the time we enter. So great job! I would suggest not touching glasses with the refill bottle though, especially with COVID. Food took a little longer than we hoped to come out. Food--had a good flavor. Definitely home cooked which I love. Smoked wings were not crispy, but nicely smoked and tender. Hubby really liked the Ahi tacos and fries. My crab cakes (2) were too small IMO. And not lump meat. I loved the champagne pepper sauce and the corn. Nice flavor combo. I ordered green beans instead of asparagus, but there was a miscommunication and asparagus came out. This was remedied, but took a while. Overall--We will revisit. Lovely staff, and chefs do a nice job ( though the crab cakes could be improved).

Rosemary and Garlic French fries. A+. You've wasted your time if you do not order this on the menu.

At the last minute, my friend and I were looking for a place that offered wine flights. We called The County Cork Wine Pub and were able to make a reservation for 9pm. They have their own parking lot, their seating is socially distanced, and it is very clean. Pros: * The wine selection is vast e.g. brut, spumante, sweet, dry, semisweet, rose, red, white, you name it. * Their wine flights include any wine that is offered by glass. You get three 2oz pours for $10 a flight. * Marie. She was our bartender and really was a highlight. I appreciated her amiability. She was attentive, very knowledgeable of the wine list, and gave wonderful recommendations. * Rosemary and garlic french fries... I've never had french fries that awesome In My Life. You've wasted your time if you do not order this on the menu. A+ Wine Flight 1: Blue Fish Riesling (D-), House White peach sangria (B-) and Caposaldo Moscato (B+). Wine Flight 2: Starborough Sauvignon blanc (A), House Red Sangria (A-), and 7 Moons Red Blend (A). The County Cork reminds me of Cheers. Everyone knows everyone and are very cordial. My friend and I were the only black faces there. At first we weren't sure how this was going to go, especially with the racial climate that we are in. Our momentary concern was in vain. We did not sense any negative vibes at all. It was a very comfortable environment. Cheers to the County Cork.

We drove up on a Saturday late afternoon in Aug 2025 and found parking across Main Street. There are other free lots nearby and sometimes a free shuttle around town on Sat and Sun. While waiting for the music, we staked out a table among some that people had reserved ahead of time in front of the wine shop, with other tables just outside the lot and more across the quiet side-street. From the wine shop, we got a nice little pinot noir to take home. They offered plastic glasses and a bucket full of ice, so we could have had that during the concert. They also have beers and ciders, gourmet snacks, and many clever and original accessories and crafts. The wine shop's owner encouraged up to walk to nearby Joe's Deli, and across to the Patapsco Distillery where the band set up under a small canopy, and we also got some food and drink from them for our table. And there's a sweet little ice cream shop across Main Street too! The band played light rock and folk and people were relaxed in conversations and enjoyment of the music. The gentle breeze kept us cool under sun-shielding umbrellas. This is nicely done weekly pair of concert, and the welcoming hostess and cooperative nearby shops make this a pleasant way to visit Sykesville on a Friday or Saturday evening, continuing through Nov 8th.

Colorful clothing hang up in display, palm size houses tucked away behind rocks, and a cozy outdoor seating area are the first things to great you as you approach the store. Once inside, you'll find yourself in a claustrophobic den, filled with locally made goods such as clothing, foodstuffs, and art as well as wall to wall wines. Choices are plenty despite the small size of the store and at reasonable prices. For those living nearby, be sure to check out Vine on Main's wine club to get more wine at better values. The real highlight of Vine on Main is the owner, who is the sweetest woman you'll meet. She's highly knowledgeable about all the products in the shop, even the non-alcoholic ones and is more than happy to share information about them. Not only does she have excellent wine and booze recommendation, but she'll even offer some free samples if you ask her nicely. Plan on shopping around the area? She'll take your order, bag it, and leave it to the side so that you can pick it up when you're all done instead of lugging around heavy bottles. If you're in the area looking to buy some good wine or just want to spend some time with a fun and interesting woman, then check out the Vine on Main.

Save your money. Warning the review is long. TLDR: service is so bad and so expensive for shitty quality food. Though their coffee and sangria were delicious. We were seated promptly and while waiting for the rest of my family arrived the waiter brought us water. He claimed the appetizers were good for sharing so I was expecting the portions to be good. Our party was 8 adults and 2 kids. We got 4 appetizers and it's good we got 4 of them because had we gotten 1 or 2, literally everyone would get like 1/2-1/4 piece of appetizer. So not sure why he said the appetizer was good sharing size. Also I want to note these appetizers are not cheap. They were very expensive for the amount you get. You would think if you paid $20-$22 per app you would get more. Literally paying for an entree with significantly less food. Onto the food: The waiter claimed that the Lemongrass chicken was "juicy". We got two of these and it was SO SO DRY. The Mediterranean salad I got was so salty. And the mussels that I also ordered were disappointing. I want to say 60% of the mussels were closed. This indicates that these might have been undercooked, poor quality or simply did not get checked. The mussels were so salty as well. What really pissed me off is that my mom ordered the shrimp tacos. Nothing complicated about that right? Well they never came out. We find out that there was a mixup so they sent it to a different table and we're "working" on a new one. Tell me why almost two hours later they never came out till we asked for the check? Then they magically come out in a to-go container. Literally the sloppiest mess you can imagine. How is that acceptable? You're telling me it took 2 hours to make this pile of shit? And what's even more absurd is their own menu says it comes with fries. Well in that small ass container they did not include fries. I asked about this and they looked confused and said it should come with fries and that they would get it. I have never experience such ABYSMAL, ATROCIOUS service. Sure the waiters and front staff were nice but nice doesn't make up for the terrible service. Something is going on in the kitchen for sure. Why does it take 1 hour for appetizers to come out. And then 45 min after only 3 people's meals come out. In polite company you would wait for everyone's food to come out to begin eating, but idk what they were doing back there that there was such a delay. Once the 4 of us finished our meal well the 5 people's food comes out, they got an entire order wrong. Ordered a kids pepperoni pizza and they brought cheese. We told the waiter that this was wrong and literally 5 min after he brings what I can say is the SAME DAMN CHEESE PIZZA with pepperoni slices right on top and a bit of Parmesan cheese. We could tell it was the same pizza because the pepperoni were sitting right on top like someone just added it on. We complained to the manager and he brought a new pepperoni pizza that was good this time. We had to ask multiple times for condiments and water refills. I could give a little leeway if this restaurant was so busy but it was not busy at all. Our waiter kept peeking over at us and not coming over like he was scared. And if your service is gonna be this bad, at least the food should be good but no. You have terrible service and shitty food that you're paying $$$ for. And gratuity being included is laughable because the service provided was not worth an almost $80 tip. We had to get up and find the waiter to ask for the check and where the hell the shrimp tacos were. In the end they tried to comp only the pizza and the shrimp tacos, but that was unacceptable. They did comp the appetizers. But they tried to give us brunch vouchers but why the hell would we come back to this place that had terrible service?? Make it make sense. And now that I review the 1 star reviews, it is consistent with everything we experienced. Terrible service, missing food, and hunting down the staff. Also the owner responds to bad reviews with AI responses. Shame.

For food, I ordered the City Dock Pizza and my friend ordered the Beef Bolognese. The City Dock Pizza was good - thinner crust but plenty of flavor. The Beef Bolognese was a lighter colored sauce than I anticipated. The pasta was good and the sauce was also good but not what I would consider a traditional Bolognese. There was manager presence which was great but he didn't say hello to all patrons. He was quick to give a Navy serviceman attention, but missed out on saying hello to a young multi-millionaire patron. Not that it mattered to my friend but you just missed a notable person in plain ole casual wear. That to me was a miss. My sweet friend loves food too so of course he said I could order anything my heart desires (they all do and should), I love having foodie friends. Let's get into it! Pizza - Great! We ordered a pizza as an appetizer because I'm greedy and it did not disappoint! Crab Dip - I couldn't taste crab, he loved it! Crab stuffed shrimp - It was a special! I ate it all, I'm not a shy date! Thai Style Red Curry Salmon - HE RAVED about this! Drinks were great! He loved his old fashion and I loved my margarita! I'd come back if there was nothing else available but probably not just to come!

We were out somewhat in this direction, and there was a Meetup group going here, so we thought to check it out as it's rare we ever go to a winery as it's normally out of the way, more likely of an occurrence when on a vacation. We took some crazy back roads from where we were in western Howard County, through Carroll, & into eastern Frederick County, where Black Ankle is. We went to the bar inside to get wines. I got a white wine; I think Chardonnay, and I think my girlfriend got a sweeter Rose or something like that. Both were delicious, but we preferred our own more. We sat outside in a nice patio area. We were in the hot Sun on that sunny day, but that was cool with me. We learned of a tour going on, which we got in on. The tour guide who wore an Italian flag bowtie was entertaining and informative. We walked around the vineyard, going inside the cooled storage areas, centrifuge area where the wine is mixed, etc. We even saw some of the old wines they had made from years earlier. We saw sheep dogs, which protect the vineyard from pests, which were cute. Overall, this is a high quality winery with plenty of nice outside & inside seating.

They allow dogs outdoors which is great for our pup. The staff there is so friendly and always happy to answer questions and let you try something before you commit. Theres seating at the bar and a couple tables. We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly. We ordered a few drinks and the bartender was very nice to talk to. She is very passionate about the art of drink making and shared her tips and tricks. She makes a great espresso martini but would probably make you anything you asked for and would enjoy the chance to be creative. We ordered a brie platter which was decent. It was what we were looking for (not a heavy meal). They have wine for sale in the back, as well as assorted ciders, seltzers, and beers. A bit pricey in my opinion for certain items, but that's okay! They have coffee and t shirts for sale too. Dogs are allowed here and the locals seem to know each other and the bartenders know their names too. Very nice and homey to go somewhere that everyone knows each other!! Would recommend this place to anyone.

Well it all worked out how it was supposed to because the food, ambiance, and service were great here! Water carafes were provided to the table & we ordered several drinks. All of the cocktails were beautiful, colorful and had curated understated garnishes. I enjoyed the jalapeño lime fizz, one of the non-intoxicants. Food took a little longer than expected but it was worth the wait. The red pepper pesto with linguine was creamy and rich and topped with fresh Parmesan. I only wish I'd had a piece of bread to sop up the sauce at the end! I'd be interested in trying their brunch and lunch options if I'm in the area again. Our server, Tom, was attentive. The bathrooms are clean and nicely warm thanks to a heater. We all had a great time.

They were good as the ones we got fresh in Florida. We wanted takeout this time, and decided on their $16 Cuban pressed sandwich. It's layers of tender thin-sliced slow-roasted pork, ham, and Swiss cheese. The bread is like a french baguette, pressed and crispy-toasted, spread with yellow mustard and tangy dill-pickle chips. It's a rich handful of a sandwich. It came with generous hot soft boardwalk-style fries. Oscar's was quick and friendly. The sandwich was excellent!
