Considering this is currently the ONLY Asian buffet anything locally, this will work if you have a Chinese buffet craving. Service was very attentive which is refreshing to see this type of attitude. The buffet bar area itself can get crowded when lots of people are making their rounds. They offer tables and booths. Noise level was comfortable, you can have a conversation without struggling to hear since there is no loud music playing which is appreciated. The plates are located towards the bottom of the hot bar stations, which is odd imo. Unless I missed it, it would be nice to have plastic gloves offered at each serving station when everyone is grabbing the same serving utensils over and over. The dinner price was $18.99. The buffet first impressions. Once you learn the flow of the buffer it's pretty easy to find what you like and what you see at other buffers however be prepared to tone down your standards as it relates to quality control of food freshness and flavor. The buffet spacing can be a little cramped and tight so it you are not big on being crowded shoulder to shoulder or possibly waiting due to the overall size of the restaurant compared to how many guests can be at the buffet at a time, then you might want to visit on a slower day. Some of the fried options for breaded shrimp wing etc were clearly overcooked upon presentation and lacking in flavor. The fries rice was good however items such as orange chicken, sesame, were extremely soggy and contained more breading than actually chicken. The beef and broccoli and chicken and broccoli both contained excess starch on the protein that took away from flavor. The hibachi bar was the lowest point for us. It was a great attempt but hibachi bar is supposed to be the best part of the buffet. The process was confusing, the options were small, the white was was TRASH, and the plate although cooked on a grill right in front of us lacked flavor and didn't give FRESH MADE!. It gave "best attempt at fresh cooked hibachi" . The attempt however was a miss. Dessert - I appreciate the jello but maybe some different dessert options it seemed to be just random stuff that didn't pair well with the theme. I applaud the owners for this creation in a unique space and utilizing it the best they could. For Rocky Mount this place is ok to stay in business a very long time as long as the customer service remains excellent. This area likes buffets but also likes quality buffets.
