I had only sat upstairs at the bar and outside, so I was happy we were able to see the downstairs. It's very intimate down there with only a few tables, while the upstairs is a lot more of a lively bar atmosphere. Service was good and fast. They are known for their burger but I am not a huge burger fan. Their other food is amazing though! Even my boyfriend who loves burgers agreed that the chicken sandwich was one of the best and maybe even better than the burger. Definitely get the mac & cheese, chicken sandwich, and french onion soup. The french onion soup was super cheesy and the mac & cheese was so creamy and perfect. Typically I don't like bacon in mac & cheese, but I love that they don't overdo it here where it overpowers the entire dish. It was only some tiny pieces of bacon just for the flavor.

We ordered a smorgasbord of items including the (infamous) burger (which lived up to the hype!), steak frites, and Mac and cheese and mashed potato sides. We also ordered a mocktail, something lime and coconut ish, which was truly outstanding. All the food was SO good, and the portions were really big which surprised (and delighted!) us. The server was very nice, perhaps not the most bubbly, but she was extremely accommodating regarding a dietary restriction which we appreciated. She was understanding and validating, which went a long way with us! This is such a great neighborhood spot with a menu so varied, there's something for everyone. Can't wait to return and try some ramen on a fall night soon!

For years I've clowned my brother about his reliance on Sweetgreen. Having worked in NYC and Jersey…read moreCity for years I am intimately acquainted with salad spots that cost the equivalent of college tuition and still leave you wanting. However, as I was a guest in his home and his wallet I was down to give it a try over the holidays when he suggested it. Based on my experience, I'm a believer - to a point. I started with the steak hot honey base and from there went HAM. Just my salad came in around $24. That's atrocious. However it was also delicious and packed to the brim with flavor and texture. I was pleasantly surprised. I think if I ordered as is I would have been disappointed - but being able to DIY was clutch. All that said, I FIRMLY reject the designation of places like Sweetgreen, Chipotle, and Cava as "slop bowls." In a time of rising economic and food insecurity, I actually find it incredibly disrespectful. Related but undeveloped thought - I also have issues with how items that contain "soft" ingredients like rice and beans - staples in countries with large populations of non white folks - get ridiculed as "slop." Is it the price that offends us? The preparation? Or the thought that who is eating it - (white) white collar workers - "deserve better?" We should unpack that at some point. -------- Overall Verdict: Yes. On someone else's dime.

Middle Brow had been on my list for a while, and the pizza was absolutely the highlight…read more The Margherita was my favorite, followed closely by the squash and pesto pizza. What really makes their pizzas work is the sourdough crust -- light, chewy and flavorful without feeling heavy. The vegan Caesar was probably the one miss for us, but their house kombucha was excellent and my friends really enjoyed the beers. And somehow, after all that pizza, the charred vanilla soft serve stole the night. Easily one of the most memorable things we ate. The space is a huge part of the experience too. It has that open, almost warehouse-style brewery feel with a covered patio, making it a great place to settle in with a group rather than just grab a quick pizza. The overall experience was laid-back and unhurried. Would definitely return for the Margherita, kombucha and that soft serve.

Walked over on a weekday around midday figuring it would be quiet. Wrong. The place was packed,…read morewhich tells you most of what you need to know. We ordered a couple of slices, several beers, and a couple of non-alcoholic drinks. The beer is the reason to come. Every pour was excellent, and that's coming from someone who orders a lot of beer. The pizza was above average. Slices come reheated rather than straight out of the oven, so calibrate expectations accordingly, but they were good and the portions were fine. Not huge, not stingy. The room itself is a pleasure. The lighting is fantastic, warm without being dim, and the space stays comfortable even when it's full. Service was quick and cheery, which is no small feat during a rush. The one knock is price. It runs a little high for what you get. Still four stars, and we'll be back.

I figured I'd try this place out and I'll say this it's definitely decently priced for what you get. Portions for me are big. But the dishes lack flavor, the steak is too dry I ordered 15 meals so I had the option to have variety. The chicken wasn't too dry but just lacked the lemon flavor they're advertising. The honey glazed and blackened salmon also lack flavor but another thing the fish tasted like it was frozen and thawed out multiple times it just had that fishy odor and flavor that masked the main flavors of the dishes. For my meals I chose what I wanted but again I wanted Variety so I went a little crazy at least now I know which meals I like from this place. OH- and I ordered Chocolate protein pancakes AND banana pancakes and only received the chocolate ones so I was a meal short. All in all place isn't terrible but needs some work on flavoring.
