Great southern food and amazing service. Get the salt and pepper catfish. It's enormous, juicy and perfect! The collard greens, coleslaw, hush puppies are excellent. Loaded baked potatoes were a little butter a piece of bacon and a packet of sour cream. Service was delayed. Went for lunch while charging car at the Tesla chargers next door. It is a real greasy spoon kind of place . We ordered take out and I had a BLT sandwich and husband had ham and cheese. Both were made on burnt white bread and BLT wasn't even cut in half. Threw out the sandwich. Bottom line... charge your vehicle at the chargers but eat elsewhere read more

We got off the highway to visit a winery, and this was one of two restaurants at that exit. So we gave it a try. Good choice. The service is great, everything seemed clean, and the food was very good. I had the copper burger, which was one of the best I've had. The fries were good, and the onion rings okay. My wife had a loaded baked potato she liked, and a very good looking salad. We definitely made the right choice, vs heading down to another exit and looking for a chain fast food place. read more

Good local home style food less than half a mile from the interstate. Set on a little hill with good views of the valley around, this local food place seemed popular with locals too, even though we just found it passing on the interstate. Fried catfish (the portions were large- two filets), fried okra, corn bread. Breakfast served all day. Beef stew was the daily special and it was tasty and not overbearing. This place is not bad in a pinch. It was late and I still was looking for a place to eat and since the sidewalks roll up early in these little mountain towns I was happy to see this place was still open after 8pm. My other alternative was the truck stop restaurant that was no looking so hot. So very few people were dining in the restaurant si I was a little surprised it took a little bit for someone to wait on me. While waiting there was this little kid running around just making noise and it was a little irritating that the parent was not controling the kid. Come to find out the was a workers grand kid made it even worse. Well I ordered the BBQ plate with sweet potato souffle and corn. t was a lot of food but it was constantly interrupted by the workers kid jumping into the booth next to me just staring at me. Christian Overtones are a highlight if you are religious. While I am Jewish, its always nice to see anyone practicing freedom of speech and the Christmas tree was nice and cute. There was a beach-like lifeguard sweatshirt for sale with a cross on it that said "my lifeguard walks on water" Too cute. Its like a cozy country home at the Copper Pot. Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful. Its a great place right off of 77 perfect for road trippers, only about 4mins off of highway. The food was pretty decent. I got veggie plate and the sweet potato casserole was amazing. My husband had a burger with fries and said it was juicy and fries were crinkle cut. We also had coffees and sodas and bill was $16! Just ate here. Worst lunch I ever had. Hands down. Service was ok...but heres how bad it is: First of all, the entire ceiling is falling apart and the condensation on the AC vents leaks on your food. Not part of the food review, just saying. The food. Dinner rolls; dry. Cornbread; zero flavor, dry as hell, and the fake butter doesnt help it go down. This was the worst cornbread Ive ever tasted in my life. Weirdly salty like baking soda saltly. Super dry. Collard greens; canned? No butter, no flavor, no love. Green beans; CANNED, then lazily cooked with some crumbled bacon, no flavor. Fried okra; some frozen product that they dont make. Burgers...REAL bad. This is some weird frozen patty, like wavy factory edges, way overcooked, strange un-burger like texture...almost like veggie burger consistency. Flavor? Salt. Thats the flavor. So dry salt patty. Mac and cheese; watery. No love, no flavor. The food of the other 5 people in our party looked pretty bad, too. Seriously, avoid this place like the plague. Go across the street to the Flying J truck stop. At least over there, you can take a shower after you eat. read more
