You really can't get anything bad at Copper Pot. I also love that they carry Diet Mtn. Dew. It's my favorite drink when eating out and no one carries it. Very solid meal and dining experience. I would give a 4.5 if possible. Stopped on our travels north for lunch on Father's Day, around 1:00 pm. The place was hopping. Not many dining choices in this area. Ample parking and a large dining area with tables efficiently serviced so that they turn over quickly. Our wait for a table was only 10-minutes, following a group of 18! The service was the star of the experience. Very efficient, helpful, attentive servers. Shout out to Suzanna. The large staff worked well together and seemed to make everyone feel comfortable. The ambience is southern, hometown casual. You feel like you are visiting your large family from start to finish. Nothing pretentious. Clean enough. Comfortable. Pricing....in this time of food inflation, this restaurant still offers amazing prices. My husband and I had two large dinner entrees with water and our bill came to just under $24.00. Our portions were generous as evidence in the photo. Our waitress recommended the grilled pork chops which were hot, juicy and seasoned just right. They came with two veggie sides from a long list of choices. I chose collard greens and Mac and cheese. These items were just average and only luke warm as was the biscuit (from a choice of about 5 bread options). Had the sides been hot and a little more flavorful, I would have given 5 stars. For vegetarians and all-day breakfast eaters, Cooper Pot is your place; so much to choose from on their menu. Vegans might struggle as most southern cooking includes dairy and it looks as if they cook their sides in large quantities and keep them in a warmer to serve. The ability to respond quickly to large numbers of travelers and locals, with solid, well-priced, filling meals is the gift of the Copper Pot. We will return when traveling their way. read more

What didn't Ho well is more like it. Pot Roast!! With sweet potato casserole and real corn fritters. Phil had flounder and okra and a sweet potato. Neither of us could finish out food so boxes to go. The pot roast was perfect, they allowed the meat, carrots and potato's blend without overwhelming spices, the sweet potato casserole had pecans and real butter and brown sugar topping. Phil said the flounder was exceptional as was the okra. Seasons mildly to low natural flairs to shine. Pricing was reasonable. read more

Coming back from a strawberry farm nearby, I thought I would stop and have an early dinner. Was hungry for some home style country cooking and country cooking is what they have! The staff was very friendly and helpful with answering some questions about the menu. They know the menu well and was knowledgeable of the preparation. I ordered the country fried chicken with gravy that is served over mashed potatoes with a hot roll and a side fried okra. It was a plate special for just under $10. Food came out hot and the chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Juicy and tender. I don't think the gravy was made from scratch but it was good white, peppered gravy. The mashed potatoes were real potatoes, not boxed. The okra may have been the frozen kind but it was fried and seasoned perfectly. I also ordered some ranch dressing on the side to dip the okra and chicken in and it was made from scratch ranch dressing and some of the best ranch I've ever had. The roll was like a breadstick and it was freshly baked, served hot and may have been made from scratch. It was a really good hot roll. Overall appearance was that it looked like it has been around for a while but had a cute, country diner vibe going on. I would eat there again if I'm passing through and would recommend to anyone wanting country style food with good service. The price was very reasonable with big, generous portions. read more

Gracie was a perfect waitress and served us absolutely fantastic catfish meals. The coating was light and fish plentiful and flaky. We finished with one of the best slices carrot cake I've had and I'm very picky about carrot cake! This is our second time here and will not be our last! The Copper Pot provided our first southern meal on a recent trip and it was delicious and a great value. I ordered grilled catfish with sides of collard greens, sweet potato casserole, and a corn muffin. The greens were flavorful and had a perfect texture. The fish was melt-in-your-mouth tender, but a bit undercooked in the center so the server quickly brought me a replacement. The corn muffin was a little dry and small, but tasted great with some butter. Everything was served piping hot. My partner had ham steaks and we also had a slice of carrot cake which did not disappoint. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the leather booths are very comfortable. Traveling up to New Jersey from Georgia from my regular drive I found this place - a few blocks off of interstate 77. Sad there was no chicken and dumplings - which is what caught my eye... but they had green peas and dumplings, which was sublime! My catfish and shrimp dinner was a delicious meal of beige food - and I mean that in a good way! Lightly breaded catfish was very tasty and cooked fresh for me. The fried shrimp was wonderful. Hush puppies are fabulous, we don't have baby places with good ones in Detroit. And who knew that I like corn fritters? I never knew! Delicious sweet corn fried in a light batter. We stopped in for lunch. The dining area was pretty crowded so it took a while to get waited on. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. The reason for what is generally a lower rating for my reviews is that when we unrolled the fork from the napkin, it hadn't been washed. Yuck. Since we were there at noon I expected the baked potatoes to be much fresher. Everything else was good. My country fried steak was very good and the deviled eggs were good as well. My husband enjoyed his chopped sirloin. I tasted it and didn't think it had a lot of flavor but then again that's what steak sauce is for. Not sure if we will go back but if we do I will avoid the baked potatoes. read more

What a great breakfast! Kayleigh, our server, was a diligent and friendly young Southern lady. When I expressed my surprised delight at actually enjoying a cup of coffee at a diner and said, "This is good coffee," she cheerfully replied, "Ain't it, though?" The eggs were perfectly over medium, the bacon was meaty, and the home fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. In this day and age, it's rare to have a perfect restaurant meal.
