The thing about this store is it's too big and always feels dusty. Staff is either totally hands off or very aggressively friendly (don't get me wrong, I sympathize, having worked in retail myself in the past). This might be a weird thing to say but Container Store just has too many containers! Like, narrow it down to just samples of each item. It's just walls and walls of plastic on the exterior and strange miscellaneous items on the interior. Obvi this is not a choice that a local branch can make. Ourselves and many others use the store primarily as a walkway between the outside doors to the covered parking and the inside of the mall. Along the way, we browse, of course, yet are never intrigued enough to stop for long. Container Store seems like a weird leftover from times past when you couldn't get everything cheaper and easier somewhere else. Again, not the fault of the staff on site locally. read more

I recently visited the Container Store at Southcenter mall in Tukwila, WA. The advertised closing time is 6pm. The doors into the mall were closed at 5:50pm and the outside door was also closed and locked before 6pm. Employees saw me at the door. When I asked why the door wasn't open and it was before 6, employees stated they close the doors at 5:45pm. If the store is advertised to be open until 6pm, that is what is expected. If the store is going to close earlier, the posted hours need to be updated. It takes 1 hour each way for me to drive to this store. This was very disappointing. read more

The Container Store is a utilitarian store for all your storage and organizational needs. If you want to put order to chaos the Container Store has something for you targeting every room and every space in every room. This particular location is easily accessible at Southcenter Mall on the second floor a hop, skip, and jump down the hall by the food court. It was bright, clean, and organized. Most of the employees are by the entrance and they all are helpful, at least the ones we talked to. I've never loved the Container Store because I typically can find the same product cheaper, elsewhere but for large glass products like jars you can't beat the Container Store since you know you'll get the product home in one piece. read more

Store is great and does have a lot of neat stuff to help organize. I am genuinely confused about their curb side pick up. So I asked for help because the items are heavy. She told me that if I parked at the pick up... someone will bring it down. I waited for awhile and no one... I went upstairs to check and the lady told me that she already did a lot of curb side drop off. So basically she didn't want to help me with mine. And then I started carrying it down to my car myself. The girl that told me to park at the pick up location said i could've called the number on the sign and they would've helped. This location is huge with a lot of variety, many items to choose from and it's even bigger than the one that is at Lincoln Square. The best way to get here is to park on the 2nd floor of the parking garage and use their direct entrance from the garage. They even have parking spaces reserved for customers of their store that are picking up large items. read more

Wow! I don't know how I have lived without going to a Container Store before. So big, bright, clean & well organized! I want everything in here!! Found a spice rack online through Amazon. Then saw the notice of the Grand Opening of this store in the paper. Went online & found they had the same exact spicerack for less than Amazon & I wouldn't have to pay for shipping & wait for it to be delivered. I also liked that if I didn't end up liking the spicerack I could easily return it here. Can't wait to go back & spend an hour wandering around looking at everything. I would NOT normally drive out of my way to go to Bellevue, but if I was in the area, I would stop there. NOW I HAVE ONE SO MUCH CLOSER! The store was clean and there were sales people everywhere! Let's set aside the fact that this store is perfect for bringing any OCD's dreams to fruition! I could get lost in the store for hours, dreaming up various ways to color code and organize my life. Beyond that, the customer service is outstanding! I've never met such a happy and friendly group of staff working at any store. Each employee we came across asked if we needed help, directed us to the items we were looking for, and even made suggestions to improve our projects...all while making regular conversation. I was completely impressed from the moment we entered the store, to the time we spent checking out and ordering our items, to the following week when we had to pick up our merchandise. The best part? This may seem absolutely ridiculous to post but it's more of a hint than a review. I've had the pleasure of always passing BY this store but not needing anything from it at all. I'm pretty minimalistic and so storage is something I tend to avoid. Fast forward to this afternoon and I finally stopped in. The selection is massive and the staff is so incredibly attentive to you when you're shopping. We were so pleased with the various clothing racks available and want to shout out to the incredible gal who helped us maneuver our way back to your bathrooms. In southcenter, most of the restrooms are disgusting. This store, has the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen. Conveniently located off the parking garage, this store has got to be the best pit stop for bathroom needs. I know it sounds crazy, all be it silly, but if you need to get your life cleaned up, take a quick pee, AND want amazing customer surface... than this is your store!!! read more

Went here twice this week, I must say that they are doing a great job on limiting the number of people who cant go inside the store. I went here on Monday first and got lucky and didn't have to wait because no one was on line and someone was exiting the store so they let me in. They are practicing social distancing and will only allow less than 8 customer I think Make sure to bring a mask they require everyone to wear it. If you forget to bring one they will be happy to provide you one. It was not busy and there were a lot of items that are on sale. Yesterday I had to wait in line for an hour to get in but I was fine with that because of the fact that they are practicing social distancing. People should learn how to be more patient and accept the new normal that things will take time before everything is back to its normal capacity. It's Black Friday and I get that stores are busy but maybe anticipate that and have more staff on the floor. I'm trying to take advantage of the 30% off sale and buy two filing cabinets. Even with the sale it's a $200+ purchase. They don't deliver this item so I HAD to go in store. I walked in and found them, walked right up to the old woman at the cashier and asked for help checking out (I wasn't sure if the ones I found were just for display or if they have a will call area etc). She said "Nadia can help you when she's done" so I figured this other woman was maybe the manager. When she was done I walked up and told her the other woman said she could help me, she replied that she was actually covering her on her break, and the only other floor employee was helping someone else. So I have to wait for the employee I just talked to to get back from her break? She knew she was about to go on break so either she didn't care that I was going to have to wait while someone else covered for her or Nadia was lying and just didn't want to help me because the filing cabinets are big/heavy. The Container Store seriously has 3 total employees working on Black Friday? I just walked out and said forget it. I wanted to get these cabinets for my mom for Christmas but the incompetence of the employees and the management has made me refuse to shop in this store again. read more

This container store was probably still under construction or redoing a reset or something after quarantine because it was very disorganized, there were boxes and vacuums everywhere but everything was on sale. I wish I had been able to take photos but I didn't. The staff was extremely helpful and there was a lot of staff for the amount of customers. I was only in the store a short period of time to pick up the order I had phoned in. I took a look at the clearance section while I was there and found my way out. The layout is really odd but I'm sure that is how they do it to keep you in the store longer. I would recommend if they are going to vacuum that they find a better way to get the cords across the store as to not trip customers. read more

Besides being impeccably organized I don't particularly care for this store. It is actually the merchandise I am not a fan of. It is very expensive for mid-quality items. We browsed the Southcenter location yesterday for about 20 minutes, but we didn't find anything that was worth spending that amount of money on. The staff also never spoke to us. We weren't greeted when we walked in, or asked if we needed help while we were there. If I had something very specfic that I needed I would check this place out. Everyone is really helpful at this location. When I ordered a bunch of storage totes online for pickup in the store, the person who brought my order to the register helped me bring it all outside to my car. She even waited for me to go move my car. Pro tip: if you are picking something up, there is a parking spot in the parking structure on the top floor right next to the bridge going over to the store. You can park there and they will bring your items out to you. read more

What's happing to the Container Store? Their exorbitant prices are reaching even farther into the stratosphere. I understand inflation but their pricing is so beyond it is ridiculous. For example: their sturdy colorful plastic tubular hangers were $0.32 apiece a year ago. Then you could buy them individually, now you have to buy them in 12 packs where their individual price comes out to $0.58 apiece and now the quality has disappeared. Time to find a better retailer. I personally love this store. Literally something for anything to be stored. Custom closets as well as tons of laundry stuff. You name it they have a solution for it. I love the impulse racks too. Registers all over store and nice restrooms. Helpful staff. Some items are super pricey but they have so many different items for each department you can find an ok deal. I was on the fence about a door organization system and she kind of talked me into (or rather I let her talk me into) and OMG, I love it. I've ordered more for like every door in my house. The prices can sometimes seem a little high but that's the price for that item right now, sure you might find something similar at a garage sale or something and maybe you don't NEED it but rather WANT it- these are the choices of life. We were looking to get a closet installed and shopped around for the right solution to fit our need. We ended up getting a "Consultant" from the Container store to come by, take measurements, and give us design options. We ended up going with the more expensive design option since it is such a small space. This was THEIR design; not ours. We had to have a SECOND person from the Container Store come out to do final measurements. They don't tell you think up front so be aware this delays the overall process by WEEKS. The lady that came to do initial measurements missed 10" which caused the Container Store to have to "re-design the space" to accommodate for the extra space. Please be aware our closet didn't go through a sudden growth spurt - this was the same location that was measured before. My thoughts, they initially took incorrect measurements to get me hooked and then jack up the price for the new measurements once committed. Then, we get a call back from the Container Store that the design THEY GAVE US won't work without an additional $5k in construction fees. So we gave up. I STRONGLY do no recommend. They are not up front on their prices and have hidden costs/delays everywhere. Go to a local store that has professional who knows how to read a measuring tape. Otherwise, double check EVERYTHING the Container Store Consultants do. read more

Store is clean, spacious and well stocked. Location is close the parking garage which makes getting in and out pretty quick. Store faces south and is not visible from the freeway. Employees were friendly and offered assistance in finding what we needed. The store is also a pilot for new register technology that feels really modern - and made the shopping experience faster! I've never been to a container store but when I moved to the area I finally got to see what the big deal was! The big deal is that they have a container for 99.9% of life. Even containers have containers! Not a gigantic staff but they are very friendly! Everything we've purchased seems to be in good quality like the small trash cans and the spice shelves. They even have organization options for closets and offices which is saving me a lot of trouble from shopping at office supply stores! Literally the same day we got it, we also got a Container Store sales brochure in the mail announcing its 25% off all shelving sale. Most companies would probably say, "sorry, you're out of luck, you didn't wait for the sale". Not the Container Store! I called them up hoping for something, maybe a gift card at least. Nope. Let me start by saying that I normally enjoy my experience shopping at The Container Store, and that I have been a return customer for a few years now. I have spent thousands of dollars on various items throughout the years with this company. My experience while shopping at the container store yesterday was one of the most discourteous, rude, and belittling experiences that I have EVER had while shopping at any establishment that I've spent thousands of dollars at!!! Thanks due to PATRICE! Yesterday at approximately 7 PM I went shopping at the container store in hopes of finding new shoe containers for my 67 pairs of shoes. I recently moved into a new home and I am looking to organize things differently, and of course what other better place than the container store. It almost worked out perfectly, as I entered the store I saw there was a sale for the shoe containers that came in a bundles of 20. If you buy two bundles you save 50% on the third bundle, which still costs you somewhere around $75-80 but the sale was president nonetheless. As I continued shopping around admiring the various containers throughout the store I was holding an item called "Nifty Nabber Grabber". I've seen this on television but I've never used one myself, but it is actually a very handy item and it's even fun to use. As I'm making my way through the isles I was approached by a woman named PATRICE, who immediately rudely asked me why I was playing with the "Nifty Nabber Grabber". I told her I planned to purchase the item, and she actually laughed at me saying "Look I know you're not going to purchase that item, and if you keep playing with it, it's going to be a used item for the customer who actually will purchase it." She told me "people come in here playing with those all the time, so stop playing with it, and return it to it's place." We exchanged very few words, mainly me telling her how much I did not appreciate her speaking to me that way, and her being very combative as if SHE had every right to talk to me the way she was. My frustration had literally rose to an all-time high! I had never felt so disrespected, she was speaking to me as if I was a child toying around making a ruckus throughout the store! Am I not a paying customer? Like I mentioned, I have been to the store many times and I have spent thousands of dollar$$$, but I have never seen PATRICE, however her attitude and disrespectful words, were enough for me to leave the store for good. They all have different type of selection on shoe boxes and not only that they also do custom dresser per your design. Terrible customer service and lazy employees. Bought a "best box" corrugated box, and when I got home I realized that the lid wasn't attached so I had to go all the way back to the store to get the lid. When I asked an employee for a lid, she told me they were with the boxes. So, I walked over to the boxes again to discover that none of them had lids! What a surprise! The employee went into the back to get me a lid. She was nice. I liked her. I picked up a few more things, then checked out. Upon my leaving, I was told that exit that I wanted to use had been closed. When I asked why, I was told because our store is closed and that exit is locked. She told me that I could use another exit and pointed me toward the parking garage. I told her I didn't park in the parking garage, and she said I can use the stairs in there to get to the ground level. Not sure why she couldn't just walk me to my exit and let me use it! This store is one of my "Happy places". I can kill hours thinking up solutions to storage needs. I just love it. The staff are kind and so helpful. I have on more than one occasion gone in here and a staff person has asked how they could assist me. I have explained my storage or organization issue and they have made suggestions. Sometimes they have been just what I was needing. The store is easy to get into with out having to go through the whole mall. I park on the upper level of the parking structure closest to Sears and then use the sky bridge to enter the store. read more
