A staple in the area, I had my concerns after the management changed, but the Commus inn continues to deliver, great dinner and brunch menus as well as a nice bier garden to enjoy in the summer! Service is always spot on and friendly, with great atmosphere, presentation. The only critique is the food served at the bier garden. The quality of it does not match that of the food served in the dining room, which is a shame.

First time visiting although I have driven past it many times. We went for brunch and arrived 15 min before opening. It is a part of the Civil War Trail so we went over to read a bit of history. We went in when the waiter put the Open flag up. The Inn is historical and very well kept. I love old buildings and the use of space is perfect. We ordered the crab pretzel and it was our first time having it. It contained lump crab meat and the pretzel was PERFECT!! Delicious and certainly a starter I would get again . For brunch we had shrimp n grits, and the pancakes with Irish knockers. Both were DELICIOUS!! The portion size was perfect! All fresh food. Because I can I ordered the Irish coffee and I loved it!! I will come back and as a matter of fact we are considering this as a sight for the family celebration. You will not be disappointed!

Come for a good time, not a yummy time - at least at the spot downstairs. Super cute and incredibly Instaworthy, unfortunately not the same experience that I had upstairs years ago with the last owners. Tacos fell apart at the first bite. Seriously, EVERY SINGLE ONE. They're super small too and if they're that thin, you guys should seriously consider using a second taco shell to catch the fixins. The duck popcorn tastes like regular popcorn (which wasn't that much for the price) and my family complained that the chips seemed stale. Small amount of guac for the extra $2. Basically, for the three tacos, a drink, and the popcorn + tip $60. Plus, they're not even table servicing you. The real value you get is for the dog friendly space & beautiful views. Perhaps the upstairs area is still really good food wise but the downstairs area did not live up to my 5* review & memory from years ago.

food was fairly good, but they were understaffed, which caused the service to be dodgy.

We came here to celebrate a personal milestone and we did it at the last moment. Luckily, there was a table for it. We did not know what to expect, but some menu items had a nice twist to the dish. However, one dish was by far the best: the deviled eggs. The sauce and the prep was just amazing. It is not a lot of food and it is $20, but we both thought it was worth it to come back to eat it again. The other dishes we ordered were good, but the most memorable was the deviled eggs. I liked how they had a leaderboard for frequent customers though. That was cool to just stare at. The location has parking on the rocks and it was full by 6 pm on a Thursday. There is outside seating and limited inside seating. The bar area looked fairly busy because it was happy hour time. Its an old timey restaurant with a more mature setting that made us think of places like eating on Kent Island or Annapolis or St. Michaels. It is a hidden gem here - especially where it was located. We did notice that there was a dominant demographic dining here. We felt a bit out of place, but don't care, the deviled eggs were too good.

The goat cheese fritters were good and the sauce on top of them was delicious. At our table of 3, none of us cared for the pierogis. I ordered the beef medallions for my entree. They were seasoned well, and I really like the topping, mashed potatoes, and squash. Unfortunately I found the beef itself surprisingly chewy, almost like bubble gum, which made them difficult to enjoy. The complementary bread was also extremely dense and dry. The butter it was paired with was overwhelmingly salty. One thoughtful moment was when they checked my friend's ID and noticed that her birthday has been earlier in the month. They surprised her with a complimentary dessert, which was so kind and really stood out to us. We sat outside on the patio, which wasn't busy when we arrived at 3:45. We were asked when we got there if it was okay that we were out by 6:30 because our table had another reservation. That was plenty of time for us, and we left around 5:30, but it felt a little unnecessary since the patio was mostly empty when we left. The restaurant had a quiet atmosphere, and the outdoor area was gorgeous. Overall, the meal had some highlights and the birthday dessert was a lovely gesture.

Since the closing of Volt, and even The Ordinary Hen (Both being Voltaggio restaurants like this one), Frederick has been in desperate need of a upper-market restaurant. So, Enter... Wye Oak Tavern. You can't beat the interior decor and ambiance. I mean, you just can't. It's elegant, modern, and each section of the restaurant offers a different atmosphere for your choosing - darker and gothic, or, in the back, brighter and more modern. The service was fantastic, as you would expect. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, and they didn't make any fuss when I asked to change tables. The food overall was very good. - Beef Fat Fries: Very very good - The Steak Tartare was also good. I think it needed a bit more flavor - maybe more mustard or capers. - Caesar's Salad was so good, and those sesame churros were fantastic. - Oysters were good. - Ribeye steak was good. For what you're paying I expected something closer to a steakhouse quality cut and cook, but it was still good. And I liked the Yorkshire pudding. - Gnocchi, Asparagus, and Creamed Spinach were all good. - Rockfish was smaller than I thought it would be, but also good - The Prime Rib was also very good. I think it could have been helped by a little more flavorful au jus on the side. We really appreciated the Laguiole steak knives they gave us. They're not like those terrible dull bulky knives you get from even high-end steak houses. Overall a very pleasant dinner. Not sure it's worth the price tag, but there aren't a lot of options nearby for nicer restaurants - besides the Tasting Room.

It's a nicely appointed restaurant inside and very comfortable. The owner and wait staff are incredible, and we loved the personalized menu. The soup and bread were delicious appetizers, and the mushroom ramen dish was absolutely delicious. A great broth and crispy mushrooms on the side had amazing flavor. The white bean soup came with white bean fritters, which were crunchy but with a lentil-like texture on the inside. The waiters came and poured the soup directly with the minced vegetables. The halibut was cooked well and tasted great but the real star was the andouille sausage and shrimp jambalaya--excellently seasoned. The creamy sauce on top of the rice made every bite feel fulfilling. The added microgreens added a freshness and crunch to the meal. The menu is expertly chosen and the meals are balanced and flavorful, and they vary often. Their website is not always up to date and depends on what is in season. My only gripe is that the portions are small for the price, but it's worth it!

First driving up, I immediately thought how gorgeous this place was! The first things I noticed…read morewere all the beautiful flowers and the fire pits. There are definitely plenty of tables, and it also looked like you could bring your own chairs and sit out in the grass, which would be nice. I also loved that they have an adults-only section with no playground for kids--which is perfect for me because I don't have kids, haha! We went on a Friday afternoon shortly after they opened, so there were only a few tables occupied. We ordered food from the food truck and got the chicken Caesar wrap, Smashburger (although I'd honestly just call it a burger because the patty was HUGE!), and pork rinds with pimento cheese. Everything was pretty basic, but you can only expect so much from food truck food. The pork rinds were extremely hard--I couldn't even break some of them with my hands--but the pimento cheese was really good. For drinks, I got the strawberry and cream sour, and my boyfriend got the Orange Crush. Both were really good! Since it was such a sunny day, though, they did get warm pretty quickly. Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Expectations were high, after my sister's go to craft brewery closed down and her husband took to Stone Silo immediately, signing up to be a club member. The building itself did have a stone silo on property that opened up to fields. There was a rustic, farm type feel walking in the front door. Welcomed by stone and dark colored woods, the facility was quite large and clean with ample seating. A glance outside there were fire pits and chairs to sit set, along with an 'adult only' section if you don't like your craft with a crying 2 year old. I sampled a few beer including the IPA, which was a bit underwhelming, but expected since the West Coast is known for quality IPAs. I settled on the Japanese rice lager, 'Nojo with Yuzu.' What a mistake! Not something I could get behind and I like yuzu too. Just too tart for a lager and not what I was looking for in my light beer selection. Second round I tried their Czech style dark lager, Clever Crow. Not sure what about this was supposed to be lager, it really felt more porter-ish to me, did not drink light and just not what I was looking for in a dark lager. The grounds and staff were great, it was a fun place to hang with family, but maybe I just made two poor beer decisions. Expected a bit more from the taps but would be willing to go back and give Stone Silo a second chance, as I know my bro-in-law will want to go back since it's close to the house
