I have read ALL the reviews on this site and they do not match the reviews found on the Google web site. I have been a customer with this store before the current owners acquired it - 12 years ago. I have NEVER had anything but polite and fully satisfactory service whether it is computer or post office related. The owner has a really good grasp of technology and does a great job of turning work requests around in a timely fashion. His wife has always been pleasant and, while not as technical as her husband, will admit when she does not know. It appears that most of the people, who have posted negative reviews, have a habit of critical reviews on most everything they review. All too often in life we want to criticize and fail to applaud when we receive good service. I can only compare these critical reviews with the positive reviews from other sites. Why the difference - here a 1.5 star rating while on Google there are over 260 reviews giving them a 4.3 rating - what is the difference - YELP is a site where people come to YELP and howl at the moon. 0 STARS. I downloaded this app specifically so I could leave this review. I left a comment on their Facebook and they DELETED it! I buy and sell on the internet regularly. I used this place to ship out of approximately 10-15 times, multiple packages each time. EVERYtime, these people had an attitude. Whether it was the male or the female, whether I was in a good mood or bad. I always got a poor taste in my mouth using their service. So I stopped, I didn't leave a negative review, I just figured my money was better spent elsewhere. I took a break from this establishment for about 2 years but, on a whim and out of curiosity, decided to go back and try again. SAME experience. I sent my husband out to send a package and this is where he ended up as well, he had no idea my experience here. He was treated the same way. Then to delete my review from their Facebook page? No. You know your behavior is ridiculous. Always read reviews. Trust the reviews. Don't go here. I tried the whole "support small buisness" thing and too many time, it's bitten me in the ass. Worst customer service ever!!! Don't go there, this couple hates people! I go there often because it's convenient, however this will be my last time! I mailed a box with pre paid postage, however I wanted to ensure my package was not going to be over the weight. I asked the mean lady if she could weight it and she yelled from back of office, " I can't touch your box" as if I were diseased. I understand covid constraints but unlike he I had on a mask. She refused to weigh my item now my item is lost in the USPS mailing system! I am sad that these two people are so miserable that they can't treat people with respect that patronize their business! read more

The woman at the Computer Place quickly and efficiently repaired the laptop of my 89 year old stressed out mother in a way that floored me and thrilled her. Her laptop, in time of covid, has been her entire social life. A series of trojans got in and terrified her. They saw its effect on her and pretty much stopped what they were doing to quickly clean her lifeline laptop. She also took the time to explain to me on the phone in ways my mom doesn't understand (computer stuff) what the problem was, what was done, and how to prevent it in the future. I rarely write reviews but this place stands out in its excellence in all aspects. read more

I usually run to the USPS store in High Point NC closer to my home. The people there go above and beyond. They will help you with your package and explain everything, along with providing packing tape if needed. I went into the Computer Store on Jonestown Road to ship 2 packages. The man working did not speak and I said I have a couple of packages here to be shipped. I forgot to tape down my very small packing slips and he told me I needed to tape them down. When I asked for tape he said we have it for sale. If that is policy, then OK, but it was the way he did it and spoke to me...completely rude, I WILL NOT enter that store again. I guess I am used to the wonderful customer service in High Point USPS! read more

I honestly couldn't believe what happened to me at this establishment. The man and his wife behind the counter were the most rude and unhelpful people I have ever met. I came here to mail a small package to my mother (this is also an authorized USPS location) and I asked him if he could tell me how much it would cost. He told me to look it up on my computer at home. Really?!? I took out my iPad and checked how much it would cost to mail a one pound package and it was $5.75 so I decided I didn't need to use a flat rate box because it would be the same price. Might as well save them for people who have heavier items. I go to the checkout with my wrapped package and the man behind the counter asks me if I want insurance or signature confirmation. I say no and he prints out a label (without telling me the final price) and asks for $11.25. I say, "I thought it would be $6." He says "No, you didn't use a flat rate box." I showed him my iPad and he says "Your package is 1lb 1oz, it rounds up to 2lbs." I then ask if I could please change to a flat-rate box so it would only be $6. He says "I printed out the label. That money has already been charged to my account. I'm not going to lose that money just because you made a mistake. You were looking at boxes for half an hour." (In reality I believe I was inside the store for 5-10 minutes TOTAL.) I asked if I could have my item back. His wife (at least who I assume is the wife) chimes in and says "That money already came out of our account. You have to pay that." I felt really uncomfortable and didn't think the $5 extra was worth calling the police so I paid it but all I can say is for everyone to stay away from this place. Also, they don't accept credit cards (really?? a computer store?? 2013??). I've been living in North Carolina for two years and I haven't ever experienced anything like this before! read more

ALL these bad reviews are REAL and TRUE!! The man behind the counter is the most ignorant and rude person ever!! I went in to use the USPS service inside the store. He refused to give me a piece of computer paper to mail my small package, I then offered to buy a piece of paper as they have signs saying copies are 15¢. He still refused and kept dismissing me telling me to go elsewhere. I walked outside pissed off, found a piece of paper and wrote down the address and taped it to the box and sent my friend in to send it because I was too mad. My friend comes out and asks for my tape because they were making him WRAP my box in plain paper that I could have done and written on the ENTIRE time. Horrible horrible place. Beware the restocking fee! They have the sign well hidden, but they charge a 15% fee on parts returns, even if it's brand new, unopened, you bought it the previous day, and you paid cash. I will go far, far out of my way to avoid these people. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Horribly rude man who works there. I actually had an issue with a package I dropped off and when I called he basically brushed me off and said he couldn't speak to me that I had to call the 800 number for usps. So I did and explained to the lady the issue and she was shocked that he wouldn't speak to me and give me an ounce of info so I had her stay on the line while I conferences him in. She explained to him the problem and he insisted he could do nothing or offer any info etc. After he got off she said that he was extremely rude and obviously unwilling to be of any help and recommended in the future I never mail anything at his store again. read more

I would not do business with this establishment ever not even the PO they manage nor would I recommend them to anyone not even to buy a stamp much less a computer. I purchased a refurbished computer from them yesterday with windows 10. Took back today , not for refund, as I was aware I could not. I ask iF they could exchange, or put windows 7 on my purchase. They refused. They said they could if I paid them $70.00. The computer is not worth that. Retail it sells for $399.00. I paid $375.00 for a REFURBISHED COMPUTER. They are extremely RUDE, RUDE! Not only did this store not fix our computer problems at all- they sent it home doing the exact same thing we brought it for- but I have called multiple times asking to speak with a supervisor, and the only response I've gotten is the same less-than- polite employee Justin telling me there's nothing he can do about it. These people are terrible. My mom walked into the store an the man behind the couter greeted us with a attitude. When she told him what she was looking he responded by saying " you are odviously looking for a refurbished one" implying that we couldnt afford a new one. Ive seen this place as it sits beside Play it Again Sports in a strip mall on Jonestown. And I love Play it Again!!!! Well mom decided to drop my laptop on a ceramic tile floor. It still works but the wireless antenna was severed. I took it to the Computer Place to get it fixed. They told me it would be cheaper to buy a wireless card for 40 bucks. And walla I have internet again. Thanks for not taking me for a ride guys. If I need any more work done I will definitely go here. In years past, I bought 2 refurbished laptops from the Computer Place. I got another one just this past summer. All were reasonably priced and have served our computing needs well. I'm writing this review because of a "low memory" issue I had with a 6 year old HP desk top computer using Windows 7. A warning message would suddenly and randomly appear saying to close all open programs as there was insufficient memory to run the computer. If I chose to ignore the message, my PC would shut down and I'd have to manually restart. I started having this issue about 4 weeks ago. My research didn't show that this as a standard Windows problem. Because I have had minor computer issues over the years, I know a couple of different folks who will come to the house to make repairs (paid by the hour, one hour minimum). The problem was obviously "above their pay grade" as the Low Memory issue would reappear shortly after they left. Monday I stopped by the Computer Place and told the owner what was going on. He immediately zeroed in on the fact that this was an older PC that had never had Windows reloaded on it. Told me to download and save all my files on an external hard drive and then bring the computer in. The next day Tuesday, I dropped it off. I expected to hear that it was fixed in 2 days or so. Good news was the owner called me the next afternoon to say that it was ready. I brought the computer home and reloaded my files. It is now better and faster than ever (at his recommendation, I added 2 GB more of memory at a small additional cost). Thankfully the owner knew exactly how to fix my problem and did so at a reasonable cost. I feel like I now have a computer that is better than new at a fraction of the cost. read more

Terrible people. I got this judgment by calling in only. I called in about a reboot issue with my desktop. The lady was very nasty and wouldn't let me explain my situation. She just jumped to the conclusion that my computer has a virus and cut me off in the midst of every statement I attempted to make. Then she proceeded to insult my intelligence and let me know that she has $10,000 worth of equipment. Will NOT be spending my money with the arrogant devils. read more

I'm sure it is only because it is an easy USPS location for people who need it. Just don't ask for any help from the employees. This is my first review/complaint online ever but this situation was horrible and I feel I need to spread the word about these owners. I hope to never meet people like this man and his wife again. They should be ashamed of the way they treat people who come to do business with them. Please take your money elsewhere. They don't deserve it! I was running errands on Jonestown and looked up a post office in the area. This store came up as a post office on the USPS website. Before I arrived I didn't know that it also functions as a computer store. I print my own eBay shipping labels online. That day I weighed a package and printed the label. After I paid for shipping I realized it would not fit in the box I had intended it to. The new box ended up being 4 ounces more than the old box. I cannot change eBay labels after I have paid for them. I have had this happen before and when I take it to the post office they charge me for the difference and send the package. When I walked into the store, with my 10 year old daughter by my side, there were three employees behind the counter I walked up with two packages, set them down at the register on the postal side and all three of the employees ignored me. The male owner proceeded to call his dog over and talk to his dog. When I asked for help he walked over and stared at me. I stated that I printed shipping labels online and I knew that one package was the exact weight and that the second was 4 oz more and I asked to pay the difference. The man said "you have to go home and reprint another label you have no other options." I told him that I cannot reprint a label after its paid for but that they have corrected it for me at the Kernersville Post Office when I have made mistakes. The owner told me that I was lying and I didn't know what I was talking about. I told him that he was incorrect and he yelled "you are ignorant lady." I asked for his name and he would not give me his name. I walked away and told his wife that calling me names in front of my child was inappropriate. She stated "it is our business we do what we want and I have microphones and cameras in this store and you said we didn't know what we were taking about. I said that they must not get a lot of business acting like this and I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau for their conduct. The female owner said "go right ahead we've been here 21 years we get tons of business" and the male owner yelled "you are a smart ass." I took my child and my packages. When I left this "official USPS satellite site" I headed to the Post Office at Hanes Mall and they charged me $0.72 for the extra 4 ounces and sent both my packages. The married couple that own the Computer Place are the two most disrespectful business owners I have ever met. The husband needs serious anger management help. I will be reporting them to both the USPS and the BBB. They certainly do not represent the level of professionalism that the United States Postal Service always provides. read more

In my opinion and experience, this is NOT A PLACE TO BE TRUSTED! They stuck me with charges they never talked about just to look at the monitor I was trying to sell them. They gave me a very low offer, which while understandable, cornered me with either accepting that offer or being charged half the amount in fees just to get it back! If you go here, be SURE TO ASK ABOUT CHARGES, because they will not tell you. If there is a form saying a charge MAY apply, then it always will. It is an ambiguous wording they use just to stick you with it later to ensure they get some money out of you. read more

I had been using this shop for computer repairs for years. I took in a computer that we had been using for internet until we took it on a vacation with us. Asked for them to take a look at the computer. Got a call late Friday from them and return the call Saturday. On Saturday they could not give me any information because the information was locked in the owners office. On Monday I called and was informed that the motherboard was fried. Yes that was her exact wording. I agreed to send in a check but there was a 10% up charge on mailing a check. She stated that her QuickBooks had to have the upcharge because it was programed to charge the upcharge. I am a QuickBooks pro advisor and know that that she could override the upcharge. Needless to say, this is the last of my computer dealings with that store. I like to support local stores but if you are going to treat returning costumers in such a unprofessional manner, not explain the problems and upcharge for a check this the last time . read more

I love going to this USPS and computer store! The couple that own it is always very helpful and friendly. They are always willing to help me make a decision on the best way to ship my items and never make me feel rushed. When I have had computer questions, they offer great advice and try to save me money. I make it a point to come here rather than the other USPS locations. GREAT PLACE. When I needed a laptop for my business four years ago they were very helpful and got me just what I needed at a great price. I use the usps every week for business and have found them to be very helpful. Last month I started having issues with my laptop being sluggish and slow. I took it in to have it looked at. They checked it out and found a number of problems from viruses to unnecessary background programs. I told them I very seldom go on the Internet and when I do I'm very careful. They were very helpful and took the time to explain how viruses work and how easily you can get them. They fixed the problem in no time at all and recommended a few inexpensive up grade. Now it runs better than it did new. These people are courteous, helpful and know what they are doing. read more

CAVEAT EMPTOR went in for a simple HDMI cable. Needed a mini hdmi to standard hdmi cable, got a micro by mistake, thought no big deal, will bring it back. Brought it back, store employee told me to come back tomorrow morning before 10:30 a.m., only the owner can do returns. Come back a third time the next day and the owner tells me he has two signs saying no returns. Told him the package was unopened and I came back 15 min after I bought it. He also didn't carry the mini hdmi cable I needed told me that wasn't what was used most often. Went to INTREX, got intelligent, friendly customer service and bought the cable for $5 less than what I wasted. WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!! read more

I took my computer for an estimate to see how much it would cost to fix. I told the mechanic exactly what needed to be fixed. I signed a few papers with fine print, thinking the estimate was free because the mechanic did not mention anything about a price. When I returned, I found out it was forty dollars for the estimate alone. It turns out, the mechanic did several unnecessary tests on my computer and I was left with the hefty fee. I took my computer home and wanted to look for a second opinion. My insurance company told me I had a limited time until coverage ran out, so I decided to go back. I called a week later to see if they had parts for my computer and they told me they would call me that day to tell me. After waiting for five hours and right before the shop closed I finally went in only to find they could not find a part for my computer and had failed to call and tell me so. read more
