The service technician, Jammy, was knowledgeable, quickly diagnosed the issue, replaced the faulty part, and had our system running again in less than 45 minutes. We paid the quoted amount (which seemed a little high but everything is these days) and were very pleased with both the service and having cold air again. Unfortunately, the billing experience afterward was confusing and extremely frustrating. Later that afternoon, I received an invoice via email showing a balance that was $120 less than what we had already paid. When my husband called to ask about the discrepancy, he was told we were OVERcharged that morning and that they would send the tech back by to exchange our original check for a new one reflecting the lower amount. The technician never returned to exchange the checks, and two days later our original check was cashed. We called again and was told we would be issued a refund that would be mailed to us (that we never received). The next week we began receiving emails and text messages stating that we owed an additional $120. After MULTIPLE phone calls trying to sort things out and MULTIPLE explanations for all of the discrepancies, I finally spoke with the head of accounts receivable. I was then told that the original invoice had actually UNDERcharged us by approximately 50%, and that the company had decided not to pursue the additional amount because of all the confusion surrounding the billing. The repair itself was excellent, and Jammy provided prompt, professional service. However, the billing process was disorganized and irritating and because of that, we probably will not use again.

My only issue, and this seems to be universal with every DCSC, is that from time-to-time their machines will break a button on a shirt. To this locations credit they own up to it and offer to fix it; other locations I've been to try to avoid it by putting the break off on some other issue. This location also does on site alterations. We'll be bringing all of our dry cleanning to this location. Some training I think does need to take place of employees because the first time I asked about putting my credit card on file or getting an express bag, both of which are standard for a DCSC, the person didn't seem to know what I was talking about. However, this could be because of the location being new, but I would expect that such a key service offering would be offered as part of a customer interaction. Pricing is reasonable. ranging from $2.09 for a dress shirt to $4.99 for a suit coat (Wednesday's shirts are discounted). I suspect that over time they will start to challange some of the other cleaners in town on pricing, but right now they win on service.

The wait time for the repairs was longer than I'd like, a week out, but I figured they were that busy? I took the mower in for carburetor issues, starting issues, and it always tried to die when I put the blades down. This is where the 5 stars come into play. They could have charged me for parts and repairs I didn't need. They did rebuild the carburetor, which I figured. I figured a new starter and a switch or something. I estimated $400-700 overall. The only problem was the carburetor. The other issues was a cover I didn't put in place correctly and it was shutting off and not starting by design. Instead of just charging me extra for something I didn't need, they were honest and I respect that. Under $200 out the door and if I need more repairs in the future, I don't expect much talk but know they are honest.

Back to Walmart, waited another 10 days, got my new glasses and...WRONG AGAIN. Called York to ask and they said it was for 12-18" distance. Now I'm out $300 for two glasses I don't need. They won't reimburse me. They won't make me even one correct pair of glasses at no extra charge. They won't admit the first two incorrect prescriptions are their fault. They said I should have told Walmart the distance (b/c a doctor's prescription doesn't have all the pertinent info?) They said to tell Walmart they got it wrong and make me another with the new prescription--like they're not going to charge me AGAIN for a new prescription? No accountability, no customer care, no stepping up, fessing up, and fixing the problem, just blame someone else instead of providing an easy fix. Absolutely horrid and unprofessional behavior: just keep denying until the customer gives up and goes away. Well guess what York: HERE I AM.
