Coffee Mug connected to Beer Mug

Just added the Beer Mug to this popular local favorite. Plenty of added seating and big screens for sports viewing. Friendly bartender takes care of food and drink orders.

Lasagna lunch special

I ordered the Lasagna special. It came with a soup or salad. I was offered neither. The Lasagna itself was swimming in grease, no sauce and burnt to the bottom of the bowl. The only thing edible on the plate was the garlic bread. Ir was the absolute worst Lasagna i have ever eaten in my life. I would have ordered something entirely different but the server was too busy hanging out with her coworkers and having fun. The photo shows the dish after I asked for a bowl to pour the grease off. Nasty!

We came to eat here while staying in Elko. The food was great. Even the picky kid liked it. The service was excellent the waiter was friendly and super efficient. The ambiance was great for families.

Wonderful breakfast/lunch joint in Elko! We stopped here on our way from Utah to Reno, but stumbled across this place when the normal breakfast spot we go to was closed. Boy, I'm glad we did! The interior is much more than you would expect from a traditional coffee shop, and the service was spot on! I got the Popeye omelette with a side of pancakes (it's all about balance, right?!) both were phenomenal! My son and husband got the French dip with fries, and loved them! The ranch was the best! Service was super fast and friendly, and the food came out really quick, which was nice since we were tying to get home in a storm. I wish I would have bought one of the items in their dessert case up front (pies, muffins, cookies, cheesecake), but I was so full, I couldn't think about eating anything else. A definite must-try!

Superb place for breakfast and lunch. The pies are in a showcase as you enter. It is difficult to not lick the glass. Great fast, friendly service and the prices are the best in town. Skip the smokey casinos with their advertised specials of soul-less food, come here. The Basque Chorizo and egg scramble is great. Hashbrowns and toast or pancakes with every order. Busy place

Heading up to the Ruby Dome, and wanted to have a picnic. The hotel clerk recommended this place…read more. We were not disappointed. I called ahead and ordered two sandwiches to go. The person on the phone was very polite and asked me a few questions like what sides. The place was pretty full when I got there, however, I was able to get my food quickly and the weight staff were very jovial and friendly. What we ordered: tri-tip French dip (selected potatoes for side) a chicken ciabatta sandwich (salad with vinaigrette Everything was packaged nicely. The girl asked if I wanted ranch dressing for the potatoes and I thought why not. My wife really loved the chicken sandwich and the flavor of the tri-tip sandwich was really good however I think for $20 , it could've had some more beef in it. There was only one layer about 1 inch thick. But for quality and flavor, it was perfect. The potatoes that came with it or red potatoes that were quite tender and covered in some kind of crumbs. Not quite sure what they were, kinda like toasted Panko. The potatoes were not fried with this, it was just covering all the potatoes. At first, I was not thrilled about this, but as I started eating them... I became a fan! That's the only way I could describe the breadcrumbs/topping on the potatoes lol. We enjoyed our picnic up in the mountains, partially due to the great food we took with from here

I saw good reviews and decided to stop in for breakfast while on a work trip, and was surprised to find that every single thing about my visit was perfect. Location is convenient, just off Idaho Street in Elko, but parking was easy. Inside of the restaurant is clean and stylish, and very welcoming, as were all of the waitresses. Service was exceptionally fast and friendly, the coffee was fresh and hot. They technically don't have a traditional breakfast type plate on the menu, most of their items seem to be more like breakfast sandwiches or wraps, but the waitress was quick to let me know that they would be happy to make a normal breakfast plate. It's hard to pick a favorite part because both the breakfast potatoes and the raspberry jam we're probably the best I've ever had. I expected the jam to come out in the usual disposable plastic tub, but instead it came out and appeared to be homemade. If they sold it I would have bought some of that on the side to go. Potatoes had just the right amount of savory crunch on the outside, but were soft and creamy on the inside. When I lived in the area before I felt like there never were any great breakfast options in Elko, but I can definitely say that this place will not disappoint. I'll be back for sure!

From the lighthearted good energy country decor with bright color mixed with softer grays, there were things like bicycle on wall greeting us with the purpose of dreez. "FOOD " with the bike wheels forming the OO's, a cute family portrait of the namesake of this cafe, Dreez and a sign promoting strawberry lemonade mimosas! Next our server gave us a warm welcome and helped make decisions that involved a food sensitivity. And I haven't even got to the yummy food yet. My husband had the smaller of the two complete American breakfasts offered and it was quite a generous portion. A highlight was the sausage patties. I chose the half and half Benedict which was perfect because I couldn't decide between the two. I selected that one while still looking at the yelp app in my hotel room and it did not disappoint! Each half was huge. And the presentation was beautiful too. Wish I'd taken a picture! A specialty of Dreez' is the chili infused hash browns. They were great and full of flavor and had a delightful mouth feel. A bit of light crispy and just enough creaminess from the cheese and cream in them for balance. Though our super sweet and friendly server did tastefully warn against having them four days in a row for comfort sake, they were not overly spicy. Great flavors! Don't hesitate to eat here when in Elko, Nevada.

I ordered their Greek Goddess omelet, which traditionally comes with sausage, but I subbed in shrimp instead and WOW this is my new favorite omelet! The combination of the feta, sundried tomatoes, and pesto delivered a lot zest and flavor in each bite. Please keep this item on the menu forever! I opted for a side of the country potatoes with my omelet, and was disappointed when they came out covered in bacon and cheese, as nowhere on the menu did it say they came with bacon and cheese. Just a small inconvenience, and it won't change the fact that this is our new go-to breakfast spot when we pass through again in the future.

The salad bar was super fresh, and everything was clean and tidy. The jalapeño popper cheeseburger was so good. It had cream cheese, regular cheese, Bacon and grilled jalapeños! The burger was a smash burger, so it was crispy and delicious. The Loaded steak fries were so good. They came with hot Cheetos, nacho cheese, steak, and ranch. We love nacho cheese, so these were great for us. The fried pickles were so good and I love that it's a big portion! Don't ever change the portion size please... but could've used two sides of ranch for them because there were so many! Next time we will order another one. If you haven't had a good family style Basque dinner and should find yourself in Basque country…read more(Northern Nevada, Southern Idaho and Oregon), you need to add The Star onto your itinerary. A classic restaurant in the heart of Elko with roots going back longer than anyone can remember, they have perfected both family style dining, as well as the perfect steak. At a glance the price seems a little higher than you would expect from some place like Texas Roadhouse, until you realize that the entrees come with literally 7 courses. In the photo below, I had the "petite" ribeye which was huge, juicy and perfect cooked, and came with 5 sides. Not included in the multiple sides were the two previous servings of excellent cabbage soup and Basque salad. When dining at the Star, you'll never have to choose between quantity and quality - every entree comes packed with both. Great service, a nice location in the historic Elko downtown, and the infamous Picon Punch all make this a very worthwhile stop.

Though my father's favorite was Château basque, we would often go to Wool Growers. Definitely the most famous of all of the Basque family style restaurants. Pinchon Punch 2 x blue brain freeze Lamb chops medium rare Family style dinner for one (spaghetti, french fries, beans, cabbage soup, fresh baked bread, salad) Bread pudding Food and cocktails five star all the way. Lamb was cooked perfect. The cabbage soup and spaghetti were delicious. The salad dressing was unique and very enjoyable. French fries were fresh and perfect. We didn't really eat the beans, but homemade bread was fire. But our waitress Jenny was pretty nonexistent. We actually went to the bar and ordered some drinks because we didn't even know if we were going to have a waitress. Finally, when she came to the table, I told her that I pre-ordered some drinks from the bar. She walked away. About 10 minutes later, the bartender brought the cocktails. Jenny came back and asked us what we were ordering. I told her and then she walked away and we really didn't see her again until the Bill. The food and drinks were brought from a variety of people. When we needed some other stuff, I flagged down the waitress for the tables behind us and she happily got us what we needed (water, more fries, etc) I went to the bar and got another cocktail as we would've never gotten another one since we never saw Jenny. The bartender and the other server were quite friendly and helpful . We will happily come back here as the food was just perfect! And it was very nice to eat family style again since it's been quite a few years since I've been to Wool Growers. On a sidenote: Reno used to have a pretty decent Basque restaurant called Santa Fe. We went there quite often and they had the best oxtail stew and they also gave you a small bottle of wine with your dinner complementary... I really miss that place also)
