Supporting a small business that cares about the communities they're in, and serving delicious coffee in a cute set-up? Sold! This is the OBSL from The Coffee Drop in Normal Heights. Featuring subtle flavors of orange and brown sugar, it's clear why it's their most popular drink! It was so nice to meet the owner, Evan, and hear his story of leaving a corporate job to pursue his passion. He and his wife, who live in Normal Heights, started in 2022 with a brick-and-mortar in Golden Hill, where they used to live and which his wife still runs Tuesday through Saturday along with their newly hired first employee, while Evan runs The Coffee Drop Monday through Friday, 8-3. They offer a punch card and prices aren't really different from the corporate coffee giant at the end of the block, so this is my new workday coffee go-to from now on! IG: @coffeedropsd

The Coffee Drop has easily become one of my favorites in San Diego. The owners, Evan and Marissa, are very friendly and welcoming! What sets them apart from other locations? They care about their customers and community while providing excellent service to each individual. Moreover, their consistency in making and creating drinks is excellent. My go-to order is the OBSL (Orange Brown Sugar Latte). It is perfectly balanced; you can taste the house-made syrup and espresso. You won't be disappointed if you enjoy iced lattes. You can also grab some delicious pastries to enjoy with your coffee.

My favorite coffee in San Diego!! Owners are absolute gems and always remember names and orders :) A neighborhood staple!!

After weeks of passing by, I finally stopped at The Coffee Drop, and I'm so glad I did. Evan serves the best, most consistent espresso in San Diego--perfectly brewed with superb aroma, taste, and presentation. The ambiance is warm, welcoming, and inclusive, making it a comfortable spot for everyone. Evan's friendly personality adds to the laid-back, casual vibe. Paired with tasty pastries, a prime location, and attentive service, this place offers an unbeatable experience. Every drink I've tried has been fantastic, especially the espresso tonic. If you're looking for quality coffee in a great atmosphere, I can't recommend The Coffee Drop enough!

Evan, one of the owners, was the friendliest and kindest person! He explained the menu intentionally and made my drink with precision. I got the OBSL latte and it was really good. The vibes were good and so were the drinks.

Coffee and pastries are super delicious! This place makes very balanced espresso-based drinks. People who really enjoy well-made and properly extracted coffee will love the hard work these two put into every shot! Everything is weighed and measured out for the most consistently delicious drinks at any small local coffee shop! Super friendly service every time and this is actually their second location.

I highly recommend pairing this with the chipotle sauce, which is offered along with all of the other sauces. The Battered Fish Taco and Tuna Ceviche Tostada is also a must. Every time I have visitors to San Diego and they want authentic Mexican Food I take them to Oscar's. I won't eat my fish tacos anywhere else! This place is definitely a local establishment. Note that parking is tight in the parking lot, but you can also park on the street around the corner. The food is worth the search for a spot if the lot is full. This eatery is legit!

We sat under the TV and it was so loud that we couldn't hear each other talking even while right next to each other. We asked them to turn down the volume which wasn't an issue. Food was okay. As a seafood restaurant, I was expecting the seafood to be great. I enjoyed the turf in my taco more than the surf! The tacos I had were good and seems to be their main focus on perfecting because everything else was below mediocre. I usually prefer a lot of lime in my ceviche but this was waaayyy too lime-y. And I have never seen elotes sitting in a soup! Plus, the rice and beans were bland! Their sauces are very good though!

I know everybody loves a good redemption story and so this time I've got one for you…read more If you've seen my last PR review, you know it wasn't too favorable. However to be fair, I think it was an understandable decision on PR's part to pre-cook a bunch of pizzas to quickly serve a large lunch crowd. Again, it was understandable, but maybe not the best decision. This time PR was back, and because it wasn't a free pizza party, they were serving up several of their pastas, which I had heard were better than their pizza. Well, my coworker was right...the pasta was much better than the pizza. I went with the truffle mac and cheese that came with a small piece of bread and a soda for $5. Keep in mind, that $5 deal was simply because my employer subsidized the rest of the cost. The pasta was cooked nice and al dente and the ground mushroom sauce was creamy and delicious. I appreciated that they served it with some additional S&P, and I liked the added parmesan on the dish as well. Unfortunately though, the "truffle" was only from added truffle oil that was really lacking in this dish. The mac was tasty but it was really missing that truffle flavor. Although the pre-cooked pizza was a big miss for me, the mac and cheese helped PR redeem themselves. Thanks PR! Overall 3.5 stars!

The pasta ended up being overcooked which sucked. No one likes over cooked pasta. Also the sauce didn't exactly coat the pasta. It basically was pasta swimming in sauce but when you picked up a piece of pasta there was no sauce on it. I feel like this business has potential and prob didn't make great food since there were a lot of ppl ordering, but who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It intrigued me but it took me a few weeks to make it back as I am partial to Kiko's place and wasn't sure if it was temporary or not! I finally made it up there yesterday after hearing good things on nextdoor.com and to my surprise they already had advanced from a taco stand to a food truck! Also instead of being there Th-Sun they are going to be there every day except for Monday! I took this as a good sign and figured they must be doing something right! I could not believe the fish tacos were only $1 each! The rest of the menu items also were very cheap. I ordered 2 fish tacos and my gf ordered the nopal and pastor taco. The total for our food was $5, can't beat that for a authentic dinner out! We didn't have to wait long and all the tacos were EXCELLENT. In my opinion the fish tacos were the best but that's just what I prefer. These are street tacos so they are a bit smaller than a full on soft taco but two was a good amount, three would have really filled me up. I am definitely going to come back. All the employees on the truck were super friendly and were very thorough in explaining all the different items on the menu. I have a feeling it is a family run food truck and they are still working out a few kinks but they are definitely on the right path. I would suggest better seating. They only had 2 high stools and a lower table. I think if they set the mood with better music, seating and lighting it could be a neighborhood hangout.
