Fixed our old Cuckoo clock as we waited! Excellent service and took the time to explain to us how it all works!

I highly recommend Olde Tymes clock repair! My husband inherited an Anniversary Clock when his…read morefather passed. His dad bought it in Holland when he was stationed there during the Korean War. It never worked after he got it home. My in-laws took it to another repairman and was told it was unfixable. Dave not only got it working, he cleaned it and spent time with me explaining how to care for it. The look on my husband's face when I gave it to him for his birthday was worth every penny of the repair cost. I will only use Olde Tymes from now on.

After I paid him his full fee, I listened to him tell me all about the grandfather clock industry. He then spent a couple hours tinkering with the grandfather clock, at the end of such time he turned palms up and said he could not fix it without a complete replacement of the inner workings (my word, not his). I asked him the cost of such a repair/replacement, and he quoted me a fee of $2,000.00. Of course, that quote was outrageous, so we parted ways. To look at his website, one would think he was competent to fix any grandfather clock that does not run. I then found another more knowledgable grandfather repairman, who fixed my grandfather clock for approximately $250.00. I intend to keep using the second repairman. Use Olde Tymes/David Morrow if you want, but I wouldn't dream of returning to him for further work on my grandfather clock. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

The gentleman behind the…read morecounter bruskly informed me that he would try to find the part I would need to fix it (an eight year old Pottery Barn bedside clock) but couldn't guarantee anything. I had to pay $20 for him to try to find the part the battery goes in. Well, okay. Said he would call me when he had an answer. I've called twice since then. Had my ticket number and everything, but both times folks said they would call me back. Still waiting for a call...from SOMEONE. Bye bye, 20 bucks, methinks.

Four months later,January 20, 2012 I still hear Theresa say "the parts are coming in today" When I told her no, I want my clock back, you have been telling me for 4 months the parts are coming in. She responded ok you can pick it up as it is, it is all apart in pieces. The image of my trying to put the clock back together was frightening. I told her no, I want it back in the condition I gave it to you. She said you can pick it up this afternoon. Well I got my clock back IN PIECES plus monetary compensation for the mess. Satisfied that I received some compensation, but not satisfied that I was deceived over 4months and that the clock which had been in my family for over 40 years is now a bag of parts. Do not recommend this place at all!
