After I paid him his full fee, I listened to him tell me all about the grandfather clock industry. He then spent a couple hours tinkering with the grandfather clock, at the end of such time he turned palms up and said he could not fix it without a complete replacement of the inner workings (my word, not his). I asked him the cost of such a repair/replacement, and he quoted me a fee of $2,000.00. Of course, that quote was outrageous, so we parted ways. To look at his website, one would think he was competent to fix any grandfather clock that does not run. I then found another more knowledgable grandfather repairman, who fixed my grandfather clock for approximately $250.00. I intend to keep using the second repairman. Use Olde Tymes/David Morrow if you want, but I wouldn't dream of returning to him for further work on my grandfather clock. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

I took my fiancees $5500 ring to Glennpeter Jewelers in Clifton Park to get resized last January…read more When it was returned, we found a couple of dinks but my fiancee was certain that she had banged it and caused the dinks herself. For our anniversary, I took her to the original jeweler to get the ring cleaned and re-engraved as they had clipped the band when they sized the ring. The original jeweler was mortified when he saw its condition. There were 3 broken diamonds in the band, and under a jeweler's lens you could clearly see that the dinks were tool marks. They begged me to leave the ring with them to get fixed, and offered a letter clearly stating that it was when the ring was re-sized the damage was caused. They even went so far as to say what tool had caused the damage, and how it was improperly used. When I called Glennpeter, the manager was new and could not help us. We instead called the GM, Mike Brown, at the Albany store, and the first words out of his mouth was calling us liars. He then proceeded to get into a screaming match with my pissed off fiancee, and hung up the phone. I would not recommend getting anything from or allowing anyone at any Glennpeter Jewelery outlets to touch your precious metals.

I went to Sondra's 9 years ago because I always heard them advertising on ESPN Radio. Anthony spent hours with me teaching me all about Diamonds and Rings. He ordered many diamonds and helped me pick just the right one. He explained the reasons behind each metal and why I would want to choose a platinum setting for our Tiffany style engagement ring. This was crucial as the ring went 8 years before it experienced any damage. I was in my early 20s and Sondra's let me make weekly payments for many many months without interest or fees until the ring was paid off and I was ready to propose. We moved out of state and were still planning our wedding. We corresponded by email with Anthony about the wedding bands knowing we would only see them 2 days before the wedding and they had to be perfect as there would be no time to change them out. They were perfect. This weekend we went back to Sondra's to have the aforementioned damage repaired and I haven't seen Anthony in probably 5 years and he remembered me and remembered where I worked 5 years ago.
