And dare I say, it was among the nicest of them and a great place to rest after an overnight flight from New York. I arrived here around 3:30 PM and was greeted in the lobby by one of the owners, who cheerfully showed me to my room and explained hotel policies. Room 9, while small, was perfect for my needs as a single traveler. The room was bright, the bed comfortable, and enough power outlets were provided for my things. The following morning, I woke up to an excellent English breakfast in the hotel pub. One of the other owners greeted me as I walked downstairs in the morning and took my breakfast order. A few minutes later, bacon, hash browns, toast, and tea were sitting in front of me, easily the best free hotel breakfast I have ever had. This even beat out the Embassy Suites breakfast. There aren't many times I've had a hotel room with better value than this. The Booking.com rate could have been paid with 15 British coins and many places would have charged at least 4 of those for a breakfast like was offered. If I'm back in the Telford area, I don't know why I would stay anywhere other than the White Horse.

Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

The point of the update is that two colleagues and me went to use the vouchers from previous visits. I held 9 vouchers. 6 vouchers gives £12 of the bill. No problem. I mentioned that the other 3 expired 30/11/14. Not another problem, swapped for 3 that expire November 2015. Plus 2 more for the meals that had been paid for.... So, 5 new vouchers.... That's service..... and guarantees my return. 27/5/14 OK. They get their star back. Wife loved the place. The kids enjoyed their food too. Service was good. Had a slight problem getting to the place by taxi, as the driver didn't have the post code. I tried to ring the restaurant on the number they rang me back on earlier in the day. No answer. Sometimes it's a wonderful experience, which really good food which works out at great value as part of their '2 for £12' offer, yet other times I think I'll never go there again, with dreadful undercooked meals and screaming kids running about. If you've been after the return of the great British pub with well cooked food - this is the place for you. All of the meat comes from local butcher, Martin Thomas of Pattingham and is cooked to perfection on site by the chef and owner, Caroline Haddon. The wines offer a nice selection of both new and old world and are easy to drink and good value for money. Highly recommended.
