Menus given to us and we were left alone to decide. The menu is limited, that's not necessary a bad thing. What was on offer can be a risky however, they have to be cooked to perfection to pull them off. We had a few questions about some of the mains and drinks. The reply from the waitress was "I have no idea", she fetched another waitress to help, and the reply was "I don't know". We just wanted to know what the mains are served with, as my friend cannot eat eggs; our other question was what was in a cocktail on the menu. Once we ordered service was prompt. Before our order cam we had a complimentary starter. Unfortunately it wasn't cooked well, so decided it may be the chef trying something out so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We went for 24 hour slow cooked pork for our main. The slow cooked pork was tough, and different cuts of pork served with it were cooked within an inch of its life. The venue and atmosphere is lovely and clean. Staff very friendly. If they can work on staff knowledge, iron out a few problems with the food, they are on to a winner. Phone signal was poor so wi-fi would be helpful. Also, for the price I'd like a few other services such as coat checking, better chairs and tables.

Beautiful surroundings and all round lovely vibes. My only complaint was the waitress seemed very stressed and forgetful and the service was sooooo slow. The inside is small and cozy with a traditional looking little wooden bar and great comfy seats. The prices are not too bad and the staff are really friendly, making sure you get a pint instead of waiting at the bar for half an hour. They have the most atmospheric small stage and crowd area with regular live music from amazing unsigned bands. Plenty of seating, another well staffed bar. Brilliant venue for those that love music and a pint :) The parking is the only issue really. The area is quite residential so you can't park anywhere and there is only a small private car park on the back. This is a common problem for most pubs really though and I guess if you're having a few you don't need to worry about your car! If you haven't experienced the Black Country way of drinking then give it a go :) The pub usually just has the landlord as bar staff (though at busier times you may see an extra helper) who knows all the locals by both name and "usual" from the bar. Although on entry the bar is fairly basic lager, ale, stout, scratchings, crisps and house spirits it's the way the experience comes together; there's always a friendly vibe and a nod of "how do?" from the locals when you enter, the ale is near perfect from the taps every pint (also helped be being one of my favourite ales - Enville!). TV channels on the flat screen can be changed at request and if you don't fancy the wooden clad bar room there is the slightly plusher lounge or the smoking shelter / mini beer patio out back. Always an enjoyable visit!
