The staff were not very competent and kept taking the wrong drinks orders to many tables, but did not seem to be scolded by the managers or bar manager. The actual food was nice enough, but did not warrant such high prices. i had the mushroom lasagne which was fairly nice, but did not warrant £8.50 for no salad or any condiments whatsoever.

I visited the pub at a pivotal moment in my life and discovered Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild , a superb Victorian dark mild , then there was the Sedgley Surprise and the Amber , not to mention the winter warmer Snowflake . Did I mention that there is a tower brewery on site that has been brewing beer here since Victorian times .
