If you've been to a Black Country pub it does exactly what it says on the tin and is my favourite of the Delph pubs, nice and quiet to enjoy a good pint. If you haven't experienced the Black Country way of drinking then give it a go :)
The pub usually just has the landlord as bar staff (though at busier times you may see an extra helper) who knows all the locals by both name and "usual" from the bar. Although on entry the bar is fairly basic lager, ale, stout, scratchings, crisps and house spirits it's the way the experience comes together; there's always a friendly vibe and a nod of "how do?" from the locals when you enter, the ale is near perfect from the taps every pint (also helped be being one of my favourite ales - Enville!). TV channels on the flat screen can be changed at request and if you don't fancy the wooden clad bar room there is the slightly plusher lounge or the smoking shelter / mini beer patio out back. Always an enjoyable visit! read more
