Had a great experience at The Choptank in Annapolis. We sat at the bar and ordered the Oysters Rockefeller, which were excellent, along with a few Old Fashioneds and Porn Star Martinis. Everything was well made, but what really stood out was the service. Darian and Erika behind the bar were fantastic. Attentive, friendly, and genuinely fun to talk to without ever making the service feel forced. They kept the drinks coming, made good recommendations, and added a lot to the experience. Great seafood, excellent cocktails, and an even better bar staff. We'll definitely be back. If you sit at the bar, ask for Darian or Erika.

Cool vibes on the water. Eat and peel shrimp came with an old bay butter sauce which was really good. Lobster roll had a nice bite to it with the pickled relish. A lot of beers on tap.

Waterfront Dining! The views are awesome. The service is welcoming and accommodating with lots of servers. The food is okay. The crab cake had a lot of filling and the fries were from frozen. The szechaun green beans were decent and plentiful. Parking was no problem at all. If you're looking for a great views, Choptank is the place in Annapolis.

First, sat on their open roof and what an incredible view. Bar and uni rest rooms upstairs. Downstairs has seating as well. Service by Hayley was good but never came back shortly after food was delivered by servers. Pet peeve. 4 star vs 5 star. Gumbo was delivered but no spoon came with it. No one around to ask. Finally found a passing waiter. Note to management, soups, gumbo etc. Send with a spoon. Crab and chili crusted oysters, amazing and flavorful. Roasted Artichokes Hearts were very good. Gumbo was packed with assorted seafood including crab. Excellent. Could have used a slight hot sauce. Maryland crab cake sandwich delicious and side Caesar Salad was great. Beet salad with shrimp add also an excellent choice. Overall worth going and would return.

It's busy, it's loud, and really really good! Well worth the wait and definitely lives up to the hype. The Choptank quickly became a favorite and we can't wait to go back. The roll was on the smaller side but the crab loaded fries made up for it.

I have been to Choptank a few times, so I was surprised that this visit was a little different. Let's start with the positives because there were plenty: the customer service is consistently top-tier. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome. Now... let's talk about what had me raising an eyebrow. We ordered Shirley Temples, and the Sprite was flat so you know that threw the whole drink off. Then, my dad ordered the lobster roll, and the lobster was so chewy, like unexplainable chewy. Thankfully, the wedge salad was fresh and delicious, the cream of crab soup was everything I wanted it to be, the fried oysters were perfectly cooked, and the crab cakes did not disappoint. And can we talk about the view? Sitting by the water watching the boats go by is always a vibe. Every other table seemed to have cocktails in hand, so I'm guessing the drinks are where the party is. I may have to skip the Shirley Temple and join the grown-ups next time. One drink won't hurt, right?

My wife and I stopped by The Choptank while celebrating America's 250th anniversary and the July 4th festivities in Annapolis, and it couldn't have been a better choice. Located right across from the U.S. Naval Academy and just off Main Street on the waterfront, the atmosphere was outstanding. We shared a hamburger and a chicken sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome even during the holiday crowds. Between the fantastic food, beautiful waterfront setting, and festive energy of the celebration, it was a memorable experience. If you're visiting Annapolis, especially around the City Dock, The Choptank is definitely worth a stop. We'll be back!

I dined in a party of two at the Choptank on a Saturday night in September. We had a lovely meal. The Choptank has a great location right on "ego alley" and overlooking the downtown area of Annapolis. It's also a big, lively place with indoor and outdoor seating, multiple levels, and multiple bars. We had reservations and it was crowded at 6 pm on a nice late summer evening. We were shown to a great table on the upper level outside, overlooking everything. On this evening we wanted seafood, but not crab cakes, as we'd had them earlier on our visit to town. We ordered the beet salad with salmon and the broiled branzino for our mains with a side of roasted brussel sprouts. Everything was very good. Our server was prompt, efficient and charming. A place like the Choptank could probably get by with mediocre food given its great location, but in our experience the food matched the setting.

Consistent good service. The weather and views of the pier/marina were great. staff were great as well. I tried the honey old bay wings, maryland crab soup, and seafood gumbo this time. The wings were great. They were crispy, a little spicy, and sweet with the honey drizzle. Maryland crap soup was spot on with good flavor. I wished it had a littlemore crab meat in it. The gumbo I thought was new on the menu. It is not gumbo season but I had to try it. It had most of the usualingredients. I appreciated the fully cooked okra. The seafood was fresh. There was one unexpectedingredient, bacon. The bacon pieces add a little flavor but the meal was good enough on its own without. I will definitely visit here again. Great time, great views, and great food.

The best thing about this place i would say is the ambiance. The food was extremely subpar. The crab dip was mostly cheese. No flavor of crab and wayyyy too overpowered by cheese. I thought the crab cake would be a given given the fact that it was off the water in Maryland but it was not flavorful and was a disappointment given the cholestoerol crab has. I have had some REALLY good seafood in my life and this place just wasn't it. Everything also felt under seasoned and my Cesar salad was not good which is crazy because how do you mess up a Cesar salad ??? Very confusing. Like it was so bitter. I had to add so much old bay and black pepper and it still wasn't bearable. Wouldn't come back but the ambiance was cool and so was the artwork.

Ate here last night for my future sister in law's birthday dinner. We had an 8 pm reservation and arrived a few minutes past 8. They told us they were getting our table ready. We waited for quite some time, and were seated closer to 9 pm. We were seated on the second floor which was very large and spacious. There were several large parties upstairs, and I will say our server was excellent. She was attentive, patient, and checked in regularly with us. Their menu has a great selection of seafood options, albeit more pricey. I started with seafood soup, and that was delicious. It had shrimp, thick slab of bacon cut into cubes, and scallops I believe. It was creamy, seasoned well, and a great starter. Then, I had their Caesar salad with chicken. It was a generous portion. I asked for blackened chicken, but they brought out grilled. It was fine. I just think the breadcrumbs were a bit too hard for my preference. Most of the table ordered salads, soups, and my sister in law ordered the crab sandwich. My fiancé had the salmon and he loved it. Since the portions were so large, most people took home to go boxes. What I loved about this location was how spacious and open it was. I liked that it was by the water. Definitely a nice seafood option that I'd return to again if I'm back in the area.

The view is unbeatable and their dirty martinis are perfection, but those are the only things that keep me coming back. Atlas group prices are diabolical. Every single item on their menu can be purchased for $10+ less at any neighboring establishment. The lights upstairs were flickering all night. Our waiter was lovely but this place is just so overpriced for nothing special.

Love love love the service and the ambiance of this place. My third time back and it was as satisfying as the first one. Service: from the hostesses to the waiting staff, well-trained, courteous and very pleasant to talk with. Our server Claire was perfect. She was attentive. Love the smile on her face. Food: superb. Everything from the seafood chowder, to the seafood tower, Raw Oyster, muscles, clams, and the chicken sandwiches were well prepare and delicious. Everything was very fresh. One of the chicken sandwiches we requested without Remoulade sauce. It came out with the sauce and we asked if it can be switch, the staff were very apologetic, no question asked and quickly brought it back to the kitchen. Minutes later, she brought us a new sandwich without Remoulade sauce as requested. Day and night compared to my last encounter with the DaLat restaurant in Ann Arbor, MI. Ambiance, casual but classy. All the patrons are pleasant and polite. Seated on the second floor with a great view of the water and nice breeze coming through. We enjoyed the food so much, I forgot all about taking my photos ;)

The ability to call ahead and get a fast reservation was enough foreshadowing to tell us this is a great restaurant. But the food soon clinched the deal. I had the crispy rockfish. Really good! Three big pieces of rockfish served atop black beans and rice. The side was 3 large shrimp perched on a slightly spicy salsa. A good aioli sauce finished off the dish nicely. I will say that the breading on the rockfish was not so crispy - rather, it was a tad on the soft side and bit too moist for my liking. But the fish inside was pure and white as expected. The serving was very large. My spouse had the crab cake dinner and he says that it is the best crab cake he has ever had. He even entered it into his restaurant contacts on his phone. This is high praise coming from a native Marylander who loves good Chesapeake Blue Crab. From my perspective, I could see that each of the 2 crab cakes was HUGE!!!! Just 1 alone might have been enough for a meal. The crab cakes were served on top of fried green tomatoes which he gobbled up. The balance of luxuriously silky crab salad against the fried green tomatoes was perfect. You know what else was perfect? The bread service! We each got 1 nicely sized roll, still warm and easy to pull apart. But the butter was enough to make me lick it off my knife. Garlic butter or chive butter - we could not quite decide - but it was so tasty that I wanted more. We both drank Arnold Palmers. He thought it was the best Arnold Palmer ever while I did not care for mine. I guess that is what makes the world go around, right? To each his own. Whatever you think of the crab cakes or the Arnold Palmer, O'Leary's Seafood is a great place. I highly recommend it for a great seafood meal.
