I walk past this store everyday to the office and I have to say what drew me in was a Jade plant in the window . It actually was a bonsai and was 10 years old. I was sold and bought it and the owner was very helpful with how to care for the plant. That was my first venture in. The next time I ran in for a small gift and ended up grabbing a chocolate bar as well. Now have to go in for my chocolate fix..an antioxidant is my excuse. I have also had them design arrangements for clients, all of whom have raved about them. The first time I said they are media people so make it cutting edge and unusual. The next time was to a very particular type of client who likes things crisp and perfect everything in its place kind of thing, each time I have described who it is going to and they have been bang on. The flower design work is exceptional and worth the price you pay to make the statement you want. Even something as simple as a single flower in vase she takes the time to make it not look like it was just thrown in but "designed" if you know what I mean..it is great because the person you are giving it to thinks you took that extra step and they are important even if it is a single flower. I have to make a side note..I left my beautiful Jade plant with someone to care for while I was travelling for a couple of months. As it turns out that was the wrong move because my poor bonsai started to fall apart.(over watering and no sun it turned out) I mentioned it to Helen at the store and she suggested I bring it in to see if it can be salvaged. Well we lost a bit, but after keeping it in the store for two months, it was doing well enough to take home....and is on a slow recovery back to health. That is why I am writing this she took the time to help me on something I had bought over a year ago and thought was unsalvageable..but was talked into not giving up on and there you go. In all honesty I would have bought another Jade as I had fallen in love with it, but she suggested we try to save the one I had first. That is rare.So thank you. This is a place you want to go. They have a great selection of flowers, plants, but they also care and honestly you do find yourself developing a relationship with them. Ok so last month to our surpeeze our friends sent us some flowers, but as it turned out not just some flowers, it was actually a gift of flowers every two weeks till Xmas, apparently we were in some "dire need of something to brighten our dismal and depressing new space" What would you do without your friends to enlighten you on such ever important things??? Apparently furniture upgrade is what we need I have been told . Anyway, we have now been getting flowers for over month from this store and all I can say is these people are really creative and impressive. Our Thanksgiving flowers were out of this world, they used bark and flowers..have no idea what they were but all I can say is it was cool and we will be sorry to see this gift end at Christmas. Has me thinking how to get someone else to gift something like this to us after xmas, but really not a bad idea, will have to think about it for our mothers Either way glad they decided to use this flower store because I can't say I have been disappointed once. My mother and I went to The Chocolate Tulip for funeral arrangements after receiving a flower arrangement for my father when he was in hospital. They were so helpful, took the time to talk with us and work out what we wanted and how my father would have preferred things rather than I guess what is expected. Just beautiful, serene and elegant work exactly what we wanted. It was just the warmest touch in a difficult time. After we talked to a few guests at the service my mother and I realized how special our experience had been compared to others. We had a budget in mind, but my mother also wanted flowers to adorn the reception and so asked what the florist thought about us using some of the arrangements that were coming in to the home. She explained to us how to best select and take care of the arrangements we had so we could use them at the reception. I don't think many would have taken the time and encourage us to do so instead of trying to get extra business. I have worked in fashion and have used a variety of florists for events and social engagements at home. But being a visitor in Toronto I wanted to send a special thanks to my friend for putting up with me on a rather unusual visit. I did some research and decided to try this florist. As I have never worked with them before I was curious to see what they would do and gave them carte blanche to design something that would knock my friends' socks off. The only thing I didn't tell them was that I was still in town and would see it when it arrived, but I did promise that if my friend loved it I would give props to designer. So PROPS I have to say I was impressed with the creativity of this designer. They have a wonderful sense of color and design, incorporating the most beautiful flowers and styling them to perfection. They are not your run of the mill carnation florist; if you are looking for an artistic arrangement you have found the right place. I have always had great success with their service and design. We discuss what I would like in colour or style and they always impress. I sent an arrangement to my client last week and asked them to use their corporate colours which are probably an odd combination in the flower world and they managed to do it while keeping the visual just beautiful. I was at my clients office yesterday and had an opportunity to see it on their reception desk and was delighted in how it looked and how appreciative my client was. They have great service. It is always a pleasure to visit the store, and they have managed toconstantly impress with on the fly work for us. ...I have noticed they tend to have some unusual flowers in the fridge that grab your attention. Plus they always tell you how to care for the particular flowers you are getting. A friend of mine called them about a week and a half after we had sent her a bouquet of roses and something green. She said she thought the bouquet was just beautiful and wanted to know how to keep it going. They gave them details on what to do ...and told them to call if they have any more questions. That was nice and the roses lasted almost 3 weeks..now that is the added bonus. read more

This is a great flower store. The name alone got me in, but they have a very good selection of flowers and plants. I love all the information they have on the tags of the plants..yes I did some reading in the store I am not afraid to admit. I wanted an arrangement for a dinner party and told them I needed it to match my table mats that I just bought. They worked with me to get the perfect look..thank you very much...and even did it in my own vase...which saved the $$ of getting a vase. Also bought some chocolates to give as gifts to my dinner guest. All in all the arrangement lasted a long time, so the flowers must be top notch quality. Worth checking out. read more

We ordered flowers from New York for our family in Toronto for Christmas. Even though Toronto was experiencing an ice storm and power outages the woman taking our order was so helpful in making our selection and made sure that the flowers were delivered without a hitch. My sister was really surprised and thrilled with the arrangement -- she loved the creativity and attention to detail. Received a lovely arrangement for Thanksgiving from my sister from The Chocolate Tulip last week. It is still doing well 7 days later. They called ahead to see what day would work for us. My sister had wanted it delivered on Friday which at fist was fine but then I called them and asked them to deliver it on Thursday and they were accomodating. Very helpful staff. The flowers are great, but they have great eye for planting plants that make them great gifts. They are not pushy and the store is not crowded like most flower stores I've been in. You can actually move around. Btw the chocolates...may be on the pricier side..but if you have ever been to France and had the chance to try Michele Cluizel chocolates you will understand why. ...much more than just a flower store.
