There is something magical about being in a candy store. Chocolates, truffles and chocolate bars everywhere. I have been to a lot of candy stores in our valley but just a shop that focuses on chocolate, a total different vibe! I made my way to the Chocolat Bar today. The perfect shop to help with my sweet tooth. I remember getting some chocolates as a gift but it was nice to be able to make my way into the store. The venue is so stunning. Beautiful displays of hot cocoa containers, chocolate bars and gift boxes of chocolates. Bright display cases of beautifully made chocolates and truffles. Everything looked divine! As much as I wanted to buy a whole pound of chocolates, I knew I couldn't polish off a whole pound by myself. My husband loves chocolate but isn't into anything fancy. I know he wasn't going to help me with a the chocolates I would have picked out. So, I opted to grab a small box of assorted chocolates. The little box I grabbed was simple and delicate. I love the little blue bow on the box. It was just the right amount of goodies for me. And since it's a variety, I get to try a little of everything. I appreciate that they have a list of what was going to be in the box. You get a nice mix of dark and milk chocolate. I'm not going to lie, I opened up that box and had 2 pieces of the dark chocolates drops. No guilt polishing off 2 pieces of chocolate right away. Later I had a milk chocolate drop with cashews I believe and I'm in love. I recall the chocolates I had in the past were fabulous but the chocolates I got today were delicious! And I plan on not sharing the rest of the box with anyone in my house. I was hesitant at the store purchasing a whole pound of chocolate but after eating 3 pieces of it today, I think I'm going to have to grab a pound the next time I come in. I know I'll have to pace myself with that many sweets but it'll be so worth every penny! Happy I stopped in for a treat today. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I got to support a local business. After reading a couple reviews, the coffee and Gelato are a must here too, a must have on my next visit. The store is so pretty and bright. The chocolates here are fantastic. I can't wait to come back soon for some Valentines day treats. read more

My wife and I are new to the Treasure Valley and stopped in here after eating at a nearby sushi restaurant. Large, cheerful, and bright inside, we were greeted by a nice woman that smiled broadly and was very helpful. Hand crafted gelato added to their already scrumptious line up of premium artisan chocolates has moved the needle from Perfect to Perfect-Plus for this locally owned shop with stellar service and sparkling interior! In my original review from about their opening time in June 2022 I said they were planning on making gelato and so they have done that delicious thing. Thanks to Yelp friend Juli S. for letting me know she heard it was introduced maybe last week, I went in to enjoy it for the first time. THE GELATO 'SCOOP': Serving sizes are small cups (2 scoops and you can choose 2 different flavors $4.95) or large ones and pints can be had to go. There are about a dozen varieties on the menu and we were told things will come and go with seasons and depending on what customers enjoy. There are also a couple of sorbetto and I had a chance to try the lemon (limon) which will be my choice next time. Everything is luscious in flavor and also important for gelato, just right for texture too. THE EXTRAS: This time we each sipped espresso as we enjoyed the cold treats. They also offer affogato (espresso poured over gelato) and they have prosecco coming soon so you can float gelato or sorbetto in prosecco if you want to try that. And try it you should for the sorbetto limon as it will get you very close to an Italian sgroppino beverage. SPARKLING SERVICE & SPACE: The service here is always so friendly and efficient, it makes everything taste even better and the space is always lovely. Also worth a round of applause to them as we observe the 33rd Anniversary of the passage of ADA this month (July 1990), they are wheelchair accessible throughout, including tables to use. I frequented this establishment often. When my family is in town we always stop in to purchase their delicious chocolates . Recently, my sister mentioned how much she and her husband love the rich and delightful chocolates made at The Chocolat Bar. I went on a Saturday and carefully selected $60.00 of chocolate. I was told they could "ship" the chocolates to Califiornia using "warm weather packing ." I said that would be fantastic and I would not need to go to UPS or Fed Ex to ship . I also asked if the chocolates would stay cool. and not melt. I was told, "yes." A week went by and the chocolates had not arrived at my sisters home in Calif. I went into the store to discuss why my shipment had not arrived. They took down my name, e-mail address, phone number and the address of my sisters home. I was told someone would get back to me. Needless to say no one from The Chocolat Bar got back to me. A week later the chocolate arrived via USPS and were melted into one block of chocolate . I was told the chocolate was being "shipped" not mailed. I will never support this establishment again. Customer service and accountability are seriously lacking. read more

Which they'd serve real drinking chocolate & have bicycle/mobility scooter accommodations... but I suspect they'd graciously accommodate if someone wanted to park their bike or mobility scooter along an interior side wall. A fun place for tasty, but overpriced, candy. The building is beautiful and the treats are always good but it still is a candy shop and you'll probably spend at least $30. The shop is large and has lots of seating, but almost feels like it should offer more. Most people don't sit and eat their candy in house. I guess they also have a limited coffee menu. It seems like they have more room than they need. Would love it if it was a chocolate and pastry place. Service is always good and the employees are friendly. Took an out of town friend to treat her to a coffee and specialty chocolates. between the two of us we spent over $160 on easter chocolate & gifts. was told the barista was finishing up something and would be 5 minutes for my latte. 10 minutes later I realized she was making me wait until she had cleaned both the men's and women's restrooms. when I questioned her she became defensive and argumentative, talking over me, stating that I would just need to wait.
