He did an excellent job cleaning out the chimney filling up a fairly good-sized bag. I will keep his number handy and highly recommend him.

He arrived on time, was courteous, polite, and talked most of the time. 30-45 minutes later and he says the chimney is clean but I do have some build up that needs to be treated. Fair enough. Two or three days later I have a fire back in. The wood heater starts "puffing" filling the house with smoke. I open the house on a cold night and vent it out. Looking online, the symptoms are of a plugged flu. The next morning I text him again, tell him my issues and that I want to get him to come back it and hit it again. Even if I had to pay for a second trip. He wouldn't come. Said it was clean. Haven't advice for clearing a blocked flu but he was having none of it. Fast forward, I have removed a 5 gallon bucket of large, chunky creosote from the flu. The airflow is much better and I am looking for a chemical treatment. For $225 I got zero value, other than learning how to get on my own roof and clean my flu after giving away money.

Normally $95.00 per fireplace he inspected both for $125.00. His guys came over literally at 0800 on the minute like I asked. They helped me with some questions about my fireplace that weren't even in the scope of their job that morning. Super helpful and responsive. I recommend them.

Initially the owner (Jon Law) of the company wanted me to pay $150 to have the chimney cleaned, when I had simply requested a quote, knowing the work would likely involve the chimney liner be replaced, so having it cleaned would be silly. I reiterated that I needed a quote on work, not a cleaning, and he continued to pressure for a cleaning. Eventually, after telling me he would only give quotes to certain Realtors, he agreed to give me a quote for $95, which would be applied to later work. Finally! The tech who came to do the inspection was polite and courteous, and when I offered to pay him, he said the owner would send me an invoice. The owner then sent three text messages within an hour in efforts to get his payment. I'm a Realtor, I cannot always respond immediately and repeat texts are a very rude practice. I paid him the same day, but despite his demand for instant text response, he was unwilling to answer calls or texts for 5 days afterwards to let me know how long the quote might take or how the inspection had gone. When I could not get a response from Dr.Clean Sweep, I got a second quote from a company in Nashville (Ashbusters- which was free, prompt, and everyone was very polite), only to find out that the work Dr. CleanSweeps had proposed to do was not going to be up to code at all. Ashbusters in Nashville refused to do the same work he offered, even for more money, due to safety issues. I called Dr. CleanSweep back on 5/13/14 and 5/14/14 to discuss these issues, as well as texted asking for a response, and received no response at all until 5/19/14. After continual lack of responsiveness and rudeness from the owner, I opted to give up the $100 I had already paid Dr. CleanSweeps in favor of Ashbusters. The job in question was over $4000 worth of work, and had Dr. Cleansweeps been courteous and responsive, I would have given him the job without question. I am always very loyal to my contractors, when they are good. This job could have resulted in this company earning all of my business. Instead, I will recommend Ashbusters in Nashville.

After they agreed it needed to be finished we had serval appointments that were either canceled or no-show. I have been unable to get a return call since the last no show. It's been over 60 days and Im still trying to get a response. Also, after they came the first time I had been told several times that David was too busy to give us a call and discuss what was not correct. They said his guys would come but he would not call us. Agreed to a price and was invoiced and asked for 1/2 up front. My payment would not go through (Blessing in disguise) and I tried 3 times to no avail. Called the owner and explained what happened and the owner said he would go ahead and order the needed materials and we scheduled an install date. Received email confirmation of date. Come that date, nobody showed up and I could not get a hold of anyone at any email or phone number. Left multiple voicemails, text messages with owner and general phone and email on company website. No response whatsoever until 3 days later when I sent a final text stating if I don't hear back I will file a complaint with the BBB. Instantly got a return text saying he was out of town and just getting back (whatever) and that a job fell through and he couldn't afford to buy my materials (weak excuse, could have called) He tried blaming it on me as he had to drive 6 hours round trip to give me the estimate (not sure where he was going with that one). When I told him the least he could do is refund my $175 he went MIA again. Poor business practices don't even sum up what this company is about. Don't know what planet some people come from or where they learned how to treat people but stay very clear of this clown. I hope he enjoyed the $175 he scammed me for and bought his family a meal. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.
