I'm SUPER picky when it comes to my chicken. If I bite into a weird piece and my teeth bounce back...that's game over for me! I've been to The Chicken Shack several times now, and I can honestly say I have NEVER gotten a weird piece of chicken. Everything has always been fresh, crispy, and delicious. And don't even get me started on all the sauces--I love having so many options! The service is always good, the restaurant is typically clean, and I absolutely love the industrial vibe and decor. It's a great place to grab a quick bite without sacrificing quality. And next time you go, do yourself a favor and try a wrap! The wraps are SO delicious and definitely one of my favorite things to order. If you love good chicken, great sauces, and a casual atmosphere, The Chicken Shack is definitely worth checking out! read more

This was our first visit to Chicken Shack with the family, and it was excellent! We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese Bowl, Buffalo Chicken Fries, homemade ranch, and Churro Fries with caramel sauce. The mac was super creamy, and the buffalo chicken was the perfect spicy complement to both the fries and bowl. The homemade ranch was delicious--we dipped everything in it! The churro fries with warm caramel sauce made a great sweet finish. The dining area and restrooms were very clean, and the staff was friendly. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

My daughter really love their chicken tenders. We come and order at the counter and they don't take that long to prepare good and served it. We always order to go and it's always freshly made. The crispy chicken is juicy inside. It has a great flavor. Hopefully they never use the fake chicken ever. The ambiance it's very casual and the staff it's always very friendly and helpful. read more

Door dashed the chicken shack, and I'm sure folks will say this is "simple" but honestly I crave these buffalo chicken fries!! I get the standard BCF sauce mild and ranch as my two sauces, but I'm considering changing it up next time! We also got a #3, 3 tenders combo. And upgraded to large fries. These servings were perfect for me, my husband and my toddler. Flavor is good! Fries may have been a little salty, but chicken was good. Even after ordering on DD and the sauce on the fries it was still nice and crunchy. I guess you can get your tenders tossed in sauce too! That might help if you don't like plain old tenders-toddlers love it lol Will return or re order! read more

I was really excited to try Chicken Shack for the very first time! When I walked in there were 5 take out orders being prepared and 6 guests waiting on food . I ordered a 6 piece wings plain a small chili and lemonade, I got the wings plain because I wanted to try their sauces, and lemonade. The people behind the counter were cussing with the young men cooking the orders. Uncool, The wings came out under cooked , the lemonade was good , the ambiance was obstructed by the yelling and cussing behind the counter, if I was an under cover boss, 3 of the 5 people working would have been gone on the spot Please do not go here for 6 months , hopefully the manager will find some help that represents their brand better, I do not recommend, avoid , I'll try it again October 1,2025 and review read more

Hands down the worst fried chicken spot in Fresno/Clovis. We didn't finish our food because the place had a terrible smell to it, the tables were filthy hand to clean my own table. Service was not the best, chicken was rubbery and dry, fries were bland, and Mac and Cheese was disgusting. I wouldn't come back ever. read more

Wonderful atmosphere and the owners are wonderful people. This is the kind of business I can feel proud to support.

Went there for lunch over the weekend, which we order all the time off doordash because it's my son's favorite, but decided to go in person. The cashier rung me up gave me my money and when he gave me my money he literally dropped all the coins onto the floor. Then looked me up and down and just stared there. I asked him if he did it on purpose as he again just stared at me with a blank expression and said no you dropped it. I put it in your hand. Now this is not enough to typically trigger me or set me off on a rant. His nonchalant attitude about dropping the coins on the floor and then looking at me and not saying anything until I approached the conversation is what ticked me off. He looked at me as if he just did not care and wouldn't even have said anything if I didn't bring it up. I just told him with service like that. Please go ahead and unring my order. Cancel it and give me my money back. He could have been having a bad day. Who knows. We're all having bad days but to throw somebody's money even if by accident and then just look at the person. Yeah, I'll just order somewhere else. Not only that, it smelled like a porta potty when you walked in. I don't know if they have a drainage problem or the sewers clog I don't know but it stunk so bad. read more

I wonder how this place is still in service? Food is alway bland.. even the bbq sauce does not taste like bbq? I don't know man. It just has no flavor. read more

usually love going here but omg we walked in and walked straight to the other door, I can't figure out what that horrible smell was... It smelt so bad i don't know how people were in there waiting for their food. It looked clean but they must've mopped with dirty water the smell was lingering I couldn't handle it read more

Hard pass. My husband reminds me to not rely on Yelp reviews. In this case, I should have listened. Upon entering this quiet, desolate restaurant I wasn't greeted. There were two tables accompanied by 2 guests per table. I ordered the chicken strips and a soda. The chicken strips came with ranch dressing. The chicken was barely breaded, flavorless and plain boring. You have to eat them hot, otherwise, they're not good. I ate 3 of the 6 that came to the order. How can you mess up chicken strips? I won't be coming back nor do i recommend. read more

Typical "fast service" interior. They have some funny sayings on the wall. The person taking our order was nice enough but not friendly. I thought it was strange they don't offer a cup for water.. you have to buy a bottle of water. Be patient because it takes a bit to get your food, it's not fast by any means. The strips and fries were hot and crispy. Very good. read more

Meh. The fries are bomb. Annnnnd. That's about it. I've come a few times and I feel like the food gets worse each time. For a chicken place, these are possibly the worse chicken strips ever. I make better chicken strips from a frozen bag in my air fryer! The fries are good and the only reason I'm not giving 1 star. The service wasn't even good enough to get the second star! It took almost 30 mins to get our food and I'm not sure why because nothing was beyond warm when it finally came to the table. I don't think we will come back. At least to this location. read more

While visiting Fresno/Clovis over the weekend, my son was craving chicken. We found The Chicken Shack on Yelp and decided to go....despite the negative reviews. It's located in a beautiful outdoor shopping center. Parking was fairly easy to find. And my daughter loves the waterfall on the walk from the parking lot to the restaurant. They have a variety of items to pick from from wings to tenders to bites. They even gave a chicken waffle slider. So we decided to get a little of everything. The French fries are to die for!!!! My son loved his wing & tender combo. And my daughter got the kids meal. I tried the chicken waffle slider. It was tasty. My only complaint would be that the waffle broke in pieces after a couple bites making it hard to eat. Wish we had one closer to us!!!! read more

Hot, fresh fried chicken that tastes wonderful! Reminded me of my southern grandmother's fried chicken.

Cashier was messing around with cooks while i was waiting to get my order taken. He then was very bland and seemed to have fomo from his prior conversation. Food had good proportions and was cooked good so 10/10. They are very judgmental kids who suck at customer service. Music was good and store was clean. overall 6/10 the workers just need customer service training. read more

I would like to make a note this place is a solid 3.5 stars. I ordered Lemon Peppered Chicken with Garlic Fries. I tried a side dip of Sweet BBQ. The chicken was good and the BBQ was suprisingly good but it was very sweet (I have never tasted BBQ like this before). Hubby tried Buffalo Chicken and said it was a bit too sweet. He would try the chicken again with a different flavor. This chicken is worth a try. read more

I'm sitting here right now and I got #2 and a ranch and they charged me .89 for the ranch but other sauces were free, don't most people eat ranch with chicken strips, he said oh we make our ranch In house , and who cares shouldn't cost anymore than the others, then my husband asked for a water cup and the guy said we don't have water cups you can buy a bottle for $1.50 and the bathrooms were locked . Any place in Clovis to eat will give you a water cup that's really bad on their part I just spent over 17.00 you think they could give me some water, their small cup is $2.19 so if I bought one just to get water that would be ridiculous! And they have a tap for water so how would I be getting that without buying a cup ? Hummmm read more

Thank you Yelp for making it easy! ;) You can order what you would like right off of Yelp. I ordered a grilled chicken salad with garlic added and balsamic dressing on the side. The restaurant is very clean clean and safe! Fun atmosphere! My grilled chicken salad was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! Fresh lettuce and cucumbers ! Love the garlic! Chicken cooked perfectly too! It's a large salad. Easily 2 meals! Great service and delicious salad! Highly recommended! read more

My son and I went here and got a chicken sandwich and some fries, he's only 2 years old, so he only ate the fries. When I order at a place with a lot of sauce options, I always ask the cashier which one they prefer and he was a little helpful, but needs to smile. A smile goes a long way, maybe even to a 5 star review. Not only was he not smiling NO ONE in there smiled at all. Not even the manager that came and was passing out food. The place was clean, it's also huge inside! Just wish the service was better in my opinion. No problem here. read more

Chicken is still crispy and moist! Yay! I still haven't found a sauce that doesn't taste like every other one of theirs - mild, spicy, and extra spicy are the only difference (and spice level is not a flavor) sad face... Hubby and I got to try their potato salad this time and was disappointed by the dry salad with over-firm potatoes Again, I like the chicken and will order again instead of cooking - I'll pick up a store-bought sauce and will prob try their beans next order, along with their coleslaw that I'll fix with additional pepper and salt read more

Average is what I would use to describe everything. The wings were ok but the tenders were on the dry side and the fries were kinda flimsy and oily. The sauces were ok. Phoned in our order and the employee who answered was friendly. Kinda took longer than the 15-20 minutes she quoted us more like 35 minutes. read more

If you know me, you know I'm a sucker for wings. Like a 1960s housewife, I continually doll myself up for this sticky finger food, and time and time again all I get is battered and beaten. Why do I do it? Because I love wings. What the Chicken Shack is serving, and honestly what the majority of places in Fresno are serving, is bones, chewy connective tissue, and limp breaded skin, the thickness of which could insulate a house. Someone needs to call the FDA because the chicken from which these limbs came are either being abused by forceful malnutrition or have been genetically engineered to withstand Antarctic temperatures based on the thickness of the skin and amount of adipose in their joints. Look at this picture. These are the inedible remains of 6 wings. This is over 70% of the weight in the container. With a good wing I will even go as far as eating the cartilage on the nubs, but with this I had to roll up my sleeves and spelunk through fat deposits to find the slivers of meat deep within. The main culprit, I presume, is none other than Foster Farms. They have been swindling local businesses by selling these atrocities by the pound, and have been getting away with it for years. However, businesses like the Chicken Shack continue to purchase these discount fat lollipops and keep passing them off as food for just as long. As consumers we must realize that we are just accepting the food we think we deserve, but we deserve so much better. I will not be returning to these wings, but I know there is a good wing out there in Fresno, and I will find it. read more

Where do i start. Ordered 2 meals on door dash. Chicken strip meal and a burger meal. Dippers are the best part. I have had the chicken shack at downtown fresno so I thought clovis would be good too. WRONG! Only thing we specified no onions. Hubby added chili to fries and asked again for NO ONIONS. Food came soggy and cold. Onions on burger and on chili. They sent the wrong dippers and I couldnt even choke down the rubber fries and cold chicken. Hubby found a hair halfway through the fries. 50 bucks for this garbage? Tried to get a refund but only allowed partial. disgusting food. Step up the quality guys or the business will go under. Seriously one of the worst food i have ordered in years. read more

OMgosh.... I just LOVE the chicken salad, AMAZING. A friend was visiting who had never ate at Chicken Shack... we had to go! Everyone was so nice and friendly. I just loved the new location... even with COVID we were able to sit outside near the water fountain. Beautiful day. I got a 5 pc meal for my husband who was at home... it smelled so good. By time I got home it was a 3 pc!!! I must admit it was better than my local shack in Hanford. Sorry. Can't wait until I come back... got to try some of the new side dishes offered! Who knew the Shack offered hamburgers too!! Hanford you need to step it up. read more

Place charges you for a water cup, chicken wings are horrible and service was worse. Will not come back.

My order wash short the amount of chicken I paid for. All of the sauces including the extras I paid for did not arrive. I paid for mac and cheese and they served all fries. The quality and value for what you pay for on top of all the order mistakes just makes this a spot I won't be returning too. read more

My last experience with this place was not great. Food was hot, but both the chicken and the fries had waaay too much salt. Had the food been seasoned correctly, food would have been good. Additionally, I had received military discounts in the past. This time I was told I needed to be in uniform for the discount! Also, it was an hour prior to closing, yet they locked the back door and stacked most chairs. Don't think I'll be returning. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars because of how horrible my experience was. The teenager at the register did not smile once or welcome us, she was leaning on the register with her elbows and looked bored. The menu says the 16 piece chicken bites comes with two sauces but she would not honor that and kept saying that it only comes with one. We asked to speak with the manager who said the owner only wants them giving out one sauce and that it's a misprint in the menu. So we ordered two 8 pieces instead to get our two sauces. They never apologized or showed any empathy either. Rude service and the chicken was dry and chewy. I would never eat here again. read more
