This was our first visit to Chicken Shack with the family, and it was excellent! We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese Bowl, Buffalo Chicken Fries, homemade ranch, and Churro Fries with caramel sauce. The mac was super creamy, and the buffalo chicken was the perfect spicy complement to both the fries and bowl. The homemade ranch was delicious--we dipped everything in it! The churro fries with warm caramel sauce made a great sweet finish. The dining area and restrooms were very clean, and the staff was friendly. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

My daughter really love their chicken tenders. We come and order at the counter and they don't take that long to prepare good and served it. We always order to go and it's always freshly made. The crispy chicken is juicy inside. It has a great flavor. Hopefully they never use the fake chicken ever. Door dashed the chicken shack, and I'm sure folks will say this is "simple" but honestly I crave these buffalo chicken fries!! I get the standard BCF sauce mild and ranch as my two sauces, but I'm considering changing it up next time! We also got a #3, 3 tenders combo. And upgraded to large fries. These servings were perfect for me, my husband and my toddler. Flavor is good! Fries may have been a little salty, but chicken was good. Even after ordering on DD and the sauce on the fries it was still nice and crunchy. I guess you can get your tenders tossed in sauce too! Went there for lunch over the weekend, which we order all the time off doordash because it's my son's favorite, but decided to go in person. The cashier rung me up gave me my money and when he gave me my money he literally dropped all the coins onto the floor. Then looked me up and down and just stared there. I asked him if he did it on purpose as he again just stared at me with a blank expression and said no you dropped it. I put it in your hand. Now this is not enough to typically trigger me or set me off on a rant. His nonchalant attitude about dropping the coins on the floor and then looking at me and not saying anything until I approached the conversation is what ticked me off. He looked at me as if he just did not care and wouldn't even have said anything if I didn't bring it up. I just told him with service like that. Please go ahead and unring my order. I ordered a 6 piece wings plain a small chili and lemonade, I got the wings plain because I wanted to try their sauces, and lemonade. The people behind the counter were cussing with the young men cooking the orders. Hands down the worst fried chicken spot in Fresno/Clovis. We didn't finish our food because the place had a terrible smell to it, the tables were filthy hand to clean my own table. Typical "fast service" interior. They have some funny sayings on the wall. The person taking our order was nice enough but not friendly. I thought it was strange they don't offer a cup for water.. you have to buy a bottle of water. Be patient because it takes a bit to get your food, it's not fast by any means. While visiting Fresno/Clovis over the weekend, my son was craving chicken. We found The Chicken Shack on Yelp and decided to go....despite the negative reviews. It's located in a beautiful outdoor shopping center. Parking was fairly easy to find. And my daughter loves the waterfall on the walk from the parking lot to the restaurant. They have a variety of items to pick from from wings to tenders to bites. They even gave a chicken waffle slider. So we decided to get a little of everything. The French fries are to die for!!!! My son loved his wing & tender combo. And my daughter got the kids meal. I tried the chicken waffle slider. It was tasty. Cashier was messing around with cooks while i was waiting to get my order taken. He then was very bland and seemed to have fomo from his prior conversation. Food had good proportions and was cooked good so 10/10. They are very judgmental kids who suck at customer service. I would like to make a note this place is a solid 3.5 stars. I ordered Lemon Peppered Chicken with Garlic Fries. I tried a side dip of Sweet BBQ. The chicken was good and the BBQ was suprisingly good but it was very sweet (I have never tasted BBQ like this before). Hubby tried Buffalo Chicken and said it was a bit too sweet. My son and I went here and got a chicken sandwich and some fries, he's only 2 years old, so he only ate the fries. When I order at a place with a lot of sauce options, I always ask the cashier which one they prefer and he was a little helpful, but needs to smile. If you know me, you know I'm a sucker for wings. Like a 1960s housewife, I continually doll myself up for this sticky finger food, and time and time again all I get is battered and beaten. Why do I do it? Because I love wings. What the Chicken Shack is serving, and honestly what the majority of places in Fresno are serving, is bones, chewy connective tissue, and limp breaded skin, the thickness of which could insulate a house. Someone needs to call the FDA because the chicken from which these limbs came are either being abused by forceful malnutrition or have been genetically engineered to withstand Antarctic temperatures based on the thickness of the skin and amount of adipose in their joints. Look at this picture. These are the inedible remains of 6 wings. This is over 70% of the weight in the container. With a good wing I will even go as far as eating the cartilage on the nubs, but with this I had to roll up my sleeves and spelunk through fat deposits to find the slivers of meat deep within. The main culprit, I presume, is none other than Foster Farms. They have been swindling local businesses by selling these atrocities by the pound, and have been getting away with it for years. However, businesses like the Chicken Shack continue to purchase these discount fat lollipops and keep passing them off as food for just as long. As consumers we must realize that we are just accepting the food we think we deserve, but we deserve so much better. I will not be returning to these wings, but I know there is a good wing out there in Fresno, and I will find it. read more

My last experience with this place was not great. Food was hot, but both the chicken and the fries had waaay too much salt. Had the food been seasoned correctly, food would have been good. Additionally, I had received military discounts in the past. This time I was told I needed to be in uniform for the discount! The teenager at the register did not smile once or welcome us, she was leaning on the register with her elbows and looked bored. The menu says the 16 piece chicken bites comes with two sauces but she would not honor that and kept saying that it only comes with one.
