Marco's is one of those places that's either a five-star experience or a frustrating one, and that's why I'm settling on three stars. When they get your order right, they absolutely knock it out of the park. The pizza is delicious, the ingredients are good, and it's easy to remember why you keep coming back. The problem is consistency. Anything outside of a standard order--asking for the pizza to be double cut, cooked well done, or making other simple modifications--seems to be about a 50/50 chance of being done correctly. We've also had several orders over the years that simply weren't what we ordered. Mistakes happen, and that's understandable. But pizza isn't cheap anymore, and when you're spending that kind of money, you expect the order to be accurate. We'll probably continue to order from Marco's because when they get it right, it's excellent. I just wish the consistency matched the quality of the food. When we are in the mood for some good pizzas our first choice would be Marco's Pizza on Herndon & Armstrong in Clovis CA. We been ordering from Marco's every other wk or so. I can concur with other Yelpers about the inconsistency with their pizzas being undercooked. It was pretty packed when I went to pick up my order maybe that's why they drop the ball on the quality control. We got an order today and to say we were abundantly satisfied would honestly be an understatement! The Breadsticks were huge, fresh, flavorful, and had amazing texture! Loved that it came with marinara for dipping. The Pepperoni Magnifico and Build Your Own with Pineapple and Ham were a huge hit with the fam too! The crust itself is not too thick or too thin, just right. The amount of toppings were so plentiful and fresh- perfect place for the kids and adults to grab fresh pizza. This is my first and last time getting pizza from Marco's. Generally I do not write reviews, mainly because establishments can have bad days. But this was such a complete waste of $100 that I have to. The pizza dough was flavorless. I'm not exaggerating when I say this, it tasted like unseasoned bread dough before you cook it. All the vegetables, except for mushrooms, were raw. They were not cooked, not baked, not anything. There was almost no sauce, which further enhanced the tasteless dough. While this was all bad enough, the most appalling thing is that the mushrooms are canned. They do not use fresh mushrooms. They use canned mushrooms, just like another reviewer had said. What reputable pizza place uses canned mushrooms? There is no mistaking the slimy texture of a canned mushroom and it's appalling that they put it on their pizzas. Again, I will never order anything from this place again, the fact that they skimp on the quality of their ingredients while charging the same price as Pizza restaurants that use fresh ingredients is just ridiculous and a complete waste of money. read more

The dude and I came here on 02/05/21 as I called in a pizza order for a large mushroom, bacon, and olive pizza. A male employee answered the phone he seemed young as he used slang taking my order. The dude and I couldn't help but laugh it was pretty funny as it's not everyday you hear trendy words being thrown around! However, the employee was still professional. We never had Marcos before and seen it a lot on the tv during commercials. We initially wanted Clovis Pizza Junxtion but they were closed permanently which was a bummer but it led us to Marcos! We arrived and it was pretty busy! Staff greeted the dude according to him as I didn't go inside. As the location is pretty small and it looks like it's mostly to go. The pizza smelled so good on the drive home and When I flipped the box open I was instantly disappointed that the mushrooms were not fresh :( they were canned mushrooms so minus one star. However, when I took my first bite wort their marinara sauce it was so delicious. The pizza was bomb it seriously tasted like BC's but like one slight notch below with those fake mushrooms. The dude and I really liked this pizza he was as pretty bummed out that we didn't get a free pizza topper which I'm glad we didn't! Here are some things to know: -The garlic sauce tastes like margarine. -Their ranch is pretty good. -The jalapeños they give you on the side are crisp and the perfect level of mild heat. -Pretty sure they use canned mushrooms, but they are still good. -The sausage they use is fantastic. -The pizzas are cut very inconsistently, leaving some gargantuan pieces, which could be a problem if you are taking it to a party or something. -The online ordering system is nice, but there was a system error when I tried pay by credit card. The pizza was ready when I got there. Other than that, the pizza is just average, but the price is way above average. Marco's was pretty darn good when it first opened. My husband went and ordered 3 pizzas. Cheese, we wanted pepperoni olive and mushroom, and a Hawaiian. Well we always want fresh mushrooms...apparently they only use canned. You guys really need to up your game back to fresh! Then we got our food and looks like we got the Hawaiian chicken. Prices are definitely a little higher for pizza (adding a veggie topping on a large pizza was $2.50) but the pie was delicious. I've been wanting to try new spots for pizza so we decided to order pizza from here last night. They have a really good deal right now for 2 large pizzas for $16.99. I'm tired of overpaying for gross pizza. The huge local chain here in town that starts with a "M" has gone down hill over the years. The other benefit of Marco's (at least for me) is that it's fairly close by. The pizza was delicious. I love the marinara sauce and amount of cheese on the pizza. We've been ordering from Marco's since we moved close by in May & order at least once every week. Always happy with the quality of the pizza, chicken dippers are tasty & I like the quality of chicken used, brownie for dessert is delicious (recommend getting some ice cream to top it off). We always have them drop it off on the porch and not ring the door bell because of our dogs (of course they always manage to know when someone is at the door regardless). Tonight the driver called to let me know food had arrived & wanted to make it aware he didn't mean for the dog to bark (again they are just too smart for their own good).
