Used to live in Delaware, and regularly are here. Now living down south, and can't find a Peruvian place that hits as good as The Chicken House does! Still the same amazing taste and quality, and the employees are so friendly. Miss coming here

We've been here before and past experience was better than Today. The 4 stars is a overall rating. It'll be a 3 stairs just on today. I ordered the sautéed shrimp with onion and tomato on spaghetti and I wasn't too thrilled about it. It wasn't bad but looks like the spaghetti wasn't properly drained so there's a bunch of water downed soy sauce on the bottom. My wife ordered her regular hand roastisory chicken with yellow rice which was good as usual. I remember their fried rice was much better. I will stick with that next time.

Wonderful food and atmosphere. Very reasonably priced and large portions. The staff are always helpful and pleasant.

Some of the best chicken ever! It came out so quick and our server was very friendly with our large party. A lot of takeout orders coming as we we sitting for dinner. They have a sweet and savory option for plantains which is neat. Their Peruvian beer was delish! We also love all the sauces they bring. Everything is amazing leftover as well.

Visiting from California for a wedding and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ethnic food here. (Realizing we're the snobs in this situation, ha!) This is legit Peruvian. My partner traveled through Peru and I've eaten at Peruvian places in SoCal so we were happy to see it. They're only open for takeout during the pandemic and they'll reopen for in person dining sometime in 2022 they say. We ordered the chaufa, mixto ceviche, seafood soup, roast chicken, and Peruvian lager. All were delicious and fairly priced. Take it from these CA foodies, we enjoyed their food and service. I was surprisingly addicted to their chaufa and the soup portions are huge.

A lot of food for a good price! Great when you feel like home cooking...but don't feel like cooking..at home . Saltado de Pollo is a great dish with peppers, onions, chicken and French fries in a great sauce. Make sure you try the green and yellow sauces! Comes with white rice, I think, but ask for yellow. Getting a whole or half chicken, yellow rice with salad is a good family pleaser for the picky eater (your kiddies). Maduros (sweet plantain) are good to take the edge off your sweet tooth. They have a bar, but I'm normally there for the food! It's in a shopping center that has Desserts by Dana 2-3 doors down. Go there after dinner for a $2 cupcake!

I've been a fan of The Chicken House for years. They used to have a location on Philadelphia Pike but closed it so I kind of have to go out of my way to this location but it's always worth it. The seasoned and roasted chicken is my go to. It's always tender and juicy. Get a side of yellow rice and extra ají sauce and it's a perfect meal. I can also say that there are some key differences between The Chicken House and Peruchos. They both have relatively small dining rooms but TCH is way more cozy. And while both have traditional Peruvian dishes TCH has a far more extensive menu. In a nutshell something about Peruchos screams cafeteria while TCH quietly says dinner.

I love the pechuga a lo pobre. Reasonable portion and price.

I love the pechuga a lo pobre. The passion fruit juice is also very good. Will keep coming back.

Tasty, wholesome Peruvian food! We had an eclectic mix of fish ceviche (absolutely delicious), rotisserie chicken, plantains, chicken soup, and yucca fries between 3 people. Every dish disappeared just as soon as it arrived and I would recommend each one, except for the chicken soup which wasn't super. Will be adding this place to the team dinner rotation! PS try the Inca Kola

I tried some of the yucca huancain and it was good. The yucca seemed overcooked. The sauce was a little too thick. It may be because it was take out so the dish got cold. The flavors were on point but the texture not so much. The purple corn drink was so unique. I never had it before but highly recommend it!! I can't even explain it. Not super sweet and a hint of fruit. The sweet potato donuts lacked flavor but the dipping sauce helped. The flan was my favorite. It was thicker and creamier than I'm used to and really enjoyed it.

Here's the issue, the machine said there was no more chicken for the day. I'd driven about 40 minutes to get this chicken and for there to be no more, I was kinda irritated. Someone behind the counter heard me and went through a whole explanation of how the system doesn't recognize that they hold some chicken back from the system so they don't run out because it takes a long time to cook. So, I was able to get the chicken but I was now in a bad mood. We ordered a lot of food! chicken and fried rice, a side salad, lomo saltado, It wasn't bad, but it didn't blow my mind either. My chicken was really overcooked, likely from being made and held. There was only one sauce offered with the chicken. A yellow sauce that was very mayonnaisey. Everything was served on paper plates and boats. They only had plastic cutlery. I got the vibe that even though there is seating, this is a takeout joint.

The main dining room is pretty narrow without much in the way of decor, and I think more could be done to help the space pop, but as always the food is my main concern in the end. The complimentary crunchy corn snack for the table was a nice surprise! We ordered an app, a ceviche, and four entrees to share between the six of us and found that plenty filling. The Yuca Frita app was tasty with a delicious dip we held on to, but I wish it came with more as six pieces felt small for the price. The Ceviche Mixto was a more solid portion with a great variety of seafood; it was on the tart side but came with a really nice cilantro sauce that the table ate clean. Out of our entrees, the Lomo Saltado was the highlight with well-cooked and tender chunks of steak and yummy fries (simple, I know). The Pescado a Lo Macho and Arroz con Mariscos were very generous portions with a ton of various seafood; even the fried fish dish came with shrimp, mussels, and scallops on top. The Aji de Gallina was maybe the least noteworthy entree, a chicken stew with cassava and rice, but even that was hearty and filling. Service was good throughout with plenty of water refills, and the cost was surprisingly reasonable for what we ordered. I'd definitely recommend this place for seafood lovers, and I'd be interested in coming back to try the roast chicken and to have the lomo saltado and ceviche again!
