Even when Top Nails opened up their second location, I followed Tracy because she very good at mani and pedi's. I always got dip powder and a regular pedi and she never disappointed me. Always kind and professional, the employees always refer to you as "my dear". I never had any issues with Tracy or others, I wish that I could've packed them up and brought them to the States lol. The new location at 500 bank street is clean and quiet - whether a day of self-care or a long work day anyone would appreciate that type of ambiance. It took an hour here because the staff member (Mary I believe) was so unskilled and poorly trained. She scraped the old shellac with so much force it was painful and she also ripped off half a nail, which is now damaged and sore. She also cut two of my cuticles, one of which is still very painful and red. Her shellac application was pretty messy and she filed my nails at odd angles. I regret leaving a tip because I feel like I rewarded her. I would avoid this place, or at least make sure you don't book with Mary.

I have gone to Westbro salon once before and they did a good job. The salon does struggle with time…read moremanagement, even with an appointment I would expect to wait 20-30 minutes. They seem to be over booking. In both experiences going I had to wait. My second time going my experience wasn't great. I was rushed through. My nail technician kept answering the phone during my service. Little over 24 hours later my thumb nail chipped. I got my nails done on the Saturday, and they chipped on the Sunday. The chip isn't big however it happened fast. With chipping it will chip more and more. I contacted the salon in private and asked for a partial refund. I'm not able to go into the salon because I'm away. They declined and stated they only fix their work. They also suggested that I didn't put my hand in fair enough for the gel to cure. This is very frustrating that they blame the client for their work/don't clearly state their policy anywhere on the website or when confirming their booking. NowI have to buy white gel nail polish and fix it myself. At a cost. After already paying $90. It should be Westbros responsibility to reimburse a PORTION of the cost. No where does it state your policy of no refund for their mistakes. It is the responsibility of the nail tech to make sure the gel is completely cured/in the lamp. This is why customers go to a licensed salon. I understand mistakes happen however it is their responsibility as a business owner to back the work of your nail artists. Yes Westbro does have strong artists but they are forced to work too fast and skipping corners causes bad work at a high price point. When messing the Instagram account. The person responding it very rude, argumentative, and started ignoring my messages. Overall this experience sucked. I got my nails done for my engagement and they have added one more thing to do. On the already big list I have.
