I got them done for my graduation/prom, and I loved how my nails turned out. Tammy, the person who was taking care of me; was extremely kind and made the whole experience lovely and calming from when she started doing my nails. I think this is my favorite Nice One Nails in the city. I came here for a pedicure with my friend for my birthday last week. I had called the night before to make appointments. Good thing because it was busy when we got there at our scheduled appointment time. Right away we were able to choose the nail polish colour we wanted. I had brought my own from home. The pedicure chair were ready for us with warm water already in the basin. The ladies were attentive and asked questions to ensure we got what we wanted. (No where else before, had I been asked if I wanted to keep the length on my toe nails, or if I wanted her to trim them or file them only!) She scrubbed my feet well and the foot massage she gave me, I thought, was the best I'd had at a Nice One Nails so far. Everything looked cleaned in this salon as well. Really happy with the pedicure I received at this location. For 28$, can't beat it! I will definitely be returning soon. NOTE: They don't accept credit card, cash or debit only! read more

Three days ago, I made an appointment over the phone with a Nice One Nails at 3098 Carling for myself and my two daughters. When we got there, it was obvious Nice One was not there anymore - the salon name was changed to Instyle, same store location. We went inside to see if we were in the book, we weren't. We asked if there was any chance, by a long shot, if they could fit us in. They had two other customers nearing the end of their manicure/pedicures. One was literally walking out the door. The staff told us hurriedly to pick our colours and got us set up in the pedicure chairs. My girls were done by the same person, one another the other. They had no complaints. I did feel very bad, however, about being there. At one point two customers came in, 30 minutes after we arrived. I was at the manicure station by then. The manager said to the customers that there was a slight delay because "this mom and daughters came in no appointment, maybe a birthday." Two times comments were made like this, making me feel about 1 inch tall. Then why accept us? Why not just say you have no room if we're so disruptive to your schedule? I felt just horrible being there. Then when it came time to pau the bill was $135. When I handed her a tip, she kept staring at me for more money. I gave her more than 15 percent. I did not feel good at all during the appointment. I won't be back. read more

For a quick and inexpensive mani & pedi this is a great place to drop in. This is a nail salon and not a spa and my rating is reflective of it in comparison to other nail salons. As a nail salon it has the typical open atmosphere and is therefor not as relaxing an experience as you'd get at a spa, but you're here for your nails not a nap! The girls are friendly, work efficiently, and they do an infinitely better job than I could myself, but I wouldn't describe the work as flawless. The first I ever got my nail done was here. My hands hurt so bad afterwards, I couldn't sleep that night. I just figured that was normal. I went with my sister in law the next time, and again, our hands were in sever pain. I ask her if that was normal and she said "No. Don't ever go back there". People were friendly enough but I'm not sure what they did that caused both my hands to be in that bad of pain. read more

I have been to another location of this franchise, but apparently they are independently owned, so I will write a separate review. This location is right beside the Coliseum movie theatre. It was nice, clean, and the staff were nice. I got a shellac manicure from the MOD and it was a good experience overall. She was nice, it was clean, and the product was nice. Good hand massage. NEVER get waxed at any of the nice one nails locations. My waxing experience was horrific! I figured it kill two birds with one stone by getting my nails done and a Brazilian wax at the same time. When I entered the tiny waxing room it was very dirty, but I seemed to over look that and go ahead with the waxing since I was going away on vacation the next day. So I undressed and layed on the bed for the girl. She dipped her stick in the pot then smeared it on me, which was way to hot. So I told her that it was too hot for me, and she replied " I know " with a giggle. Then she put the wax strip on & Toar my hair with the growth which is the wrong way. So by doing this my hair became stuck in a huge chuck full of wax. I wanted to cry! I debated leaving right then or staying thete and showing her how to properly wax, since I really didn't no if I could wash all the wax off. I told her that she had to pull against the growth so she ended up doing that multiple times over the same spot since she made a huge mess and wasn't pulling the strip fast enough. When I got home I noticed patches of hair that she missed do I had to carefully shave those areas. By the next few days I developed over a dozen ingrown hairs. So please save yourself this dreadful experience and skip getting waxed here. I'd recommend humming bird medi spa for any waxing!! read more

They'll do a decent job of your nails (though a bit messy with shellac) but they'll take forever to see you. Even if you have an appointment set up you'll have to wait 30 minutes (at least) to have someone see you. And they have very indifferent service for what you're paying. Skip it and go to a real spa where you'll pay a tiny bit more and get infinitely better service and better quality nails. read more
