I'm really pleased with my lashes. I've now been back to Mandy several times, and each time is a nice, relaxing experience. People who notice my lashes always comment on how natural they look. My friend and I agreed that we could use a break from the obscene spending we were doing so we decided to try it out. For less than $13 and 5 minutes, there were zero regrets. The ladies were quick and friendly- they really knew what they were doing! I somewhat expected the experience to hurt (at least as much as a wax) but I was amazed at their speed and precision. I barely felt it at all. I'm usually one of those people who ends up incredibly red-faced after any kind of procedure (waxes, facials, etc...) but the threading was easy on my sensitive skin and I had no problem wandering the mall post-treatment. Overall, I say if you're curious- give this place a shot! If you're at the mall anyways, it's just an added bonus.

Only why I deducted a star is because they do not put powder on your brows before you begin in order to remove excess oil on the skin. Since my eyebrow lady is 2 hours away, this salon will have to be my new go to from now on.

She then proceeded to double-wax the exact same sensitive spot and immediately threaded right over it. Because she completely over-processed my skin, my lip actually bled during the service, and I woke up the next day with severe redness and inflammation across half of my upper lip. I have had this service done before and didnt experienced this. This trauma was so bad that I had to alter my personal schedule to stay home while it healed. Using too hot wax, double-waxing, and threading the same area violates basic esthetic safety standards and caused bad skin trauma. Please be incredibly careful if you have to get hair removal services here. I do not know the technician's name, but she had a very dismissive attitude and didn't talk to me or explain what she was doing. Don't go here.

She did an allergy test to see if I had any adverse reactions to the adhesive before the procedure. She also did a 24h follow up to see how everything was as well! Her work? Beautiful. I looked like a clown. I had to trim the lashes so that I could wear my glasses. The glue she used was also very strong and irritating. My eyes hurt for weeks. Although the technician showed me a photo of lovely wispy lashes this is not what she delivered. My natural lashes are now short and broken. Avoid this place.

I waited for several minutes hoping I would not receive a parking ticket, but they could not resolve the problem. An honest person, I said I would pay them the next day and because it would cost me gas and my precious time to go there to pay what they could not process. Vanish badgered me for payment three times that day after I had tried to pay them using their cell number, but later they informed me to use their email address. Then by text Vanish provided me with the email address so I sent payment for $22.50. Any other business in Ottawa I have dealt with would accept that payment via internet was their problem and would not charge me anything if they could not receive payment. Why did Vanish Nail Spa badger me?! I do not recommend Vanism for this reason and advise you that there are other options.

Even when Top Nails opened up their second location, I followed Tracy because she very good at mani and pedi's. I always got dip powder and a regular pedi and she never disappointed me. Always kind and professional, the employees always refer to you as "my dear". I never had any issues with Tracy or others, I wish that I could've packed them up and brought them to the States lol. The new location at 500 bank street is clean and quiet - whether a day of self-care or a long work day anyone would appreciate that type of ambiance.
