PAID ALMOST $10K FOR GUESTS TO LEAVE HUNGRY. EMBARRASSED IN FRONT OF ALL MY LOVED ONES…read more Our engagement party is now overshadowed by humiliation. Several of our guests mentioned there was not enough food at our party. Furthermore, the food that was available was subpar at best. One guest flew in from Florida to celebrate with us, and said several dishes ran out and weren't replenished. Another guest told us she only had rice & beans to eat because all the other dishes ran out. A guest who managed to get some meat said it was so fatty she couldn't even eat it - it was causing her to choke! Another guest panicked, trying to figure out how to discreetly spit out an inedible piece of gristle. I cannot put into words how mortified I am. I have never hosted a party where guests left hungry and I am absolutely humiliated. The catering charge is calculated per person, so there should have been plenty of food for everyone - especially since we had several no-shows. We paid for MORE people than actually attended and they STILL ran out of food. We paid an extra upcharge for salmon, and the piece I received was about the size of a silver dollar. Many of the dishes were rice-based, making this even more inexcusable - how GREEDY and CHEAP do you have to be to run out of rice at a 100-person party?! Part of the reason we chose this venue was their "authentic" Peruvian menu, but it was embarrassing serving this to our Peruvian relatives! The ceviche was bland and disappointing, like the rest of the food (what there was of it, anyway). These owners pocketed nearly $10,000 and had no shame shortchanging 100 guests. I will be sending out apology notes with our thank you cards for this debacle - something I never imagined having to do for my own engagement party. Several guests have actually expressed pity for us because it's glaringly obvious we were ripped off and taken advantage of. Thank god we aren't having our wedding here! Do not make the mistake of trusting this venue with your celebration unless you want to spend it apologizing to your loved ones instead of celebrating with them.

Jason, our coordinator, was incredible. He was always communicative, clear, and available to answer any questions we had, no matter how small. He truly made the planning process feel easy and stress-free. On the day of the wedding, the matrades d', Adriana and Jaylene, were absolute superstars. They were by my side the entire time, making sure I was where I needed to be and that everything ran smoothly. I truly couldn't have asked for a better team. The food was phenomenal--people are *still* talking about it! So many guests told us this was one of the best weddings they've ever been to, and the food played a huge part in that. There was so much food that people didn't even realize there was more coming. The dessert table was absolutely amazing, and everything looked beautiful and tasted even better. The pizza during cocktail hour was such a fun and appreciated touch. The entire day ran seamlessly. From organizing vendors to keeping everything on schedule, the team handled every detail flawlessly. The value we received for hosting our wedding at The Grand was truly worth it, and we are so grateful for everyone who helped make our day so special. Overall, the ambiance, service, and food were all top tier. From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of amazing. If you're looking for a venue that is beautiful, well-run, and truly cares about making your day perfect, The Grand is the place.

Ever since I've been in search of a wedding venue of my own, I've been recalling my past…read moreexperiences at other venues I've attended weddings at. Most recently was The Grand over this past summer. Pros of The Grand: It's truly a beautiful space. If you're in search of a traditional ballroom feel, you'll love this one. The outdoor ceremony area & indoor areas are classy and elegant. The cocktail hour was definitely the star of the show here - food was amazing and had a wide variety of cuisines available. Love the option of an outdoor pizza oven at cocktail hour - so unique! This venue is also well priced, offering great options in the NYC/NJ area. Cons of The Grand: From my experience attending a wedding here, I hated the fact that multiple events are hosted at once. Sure, the venue will tell you that the events are staggered so there's no opportunity for the two guests to overlap, but that is completely false. Upon entering the main lobby area where our couple had a champagne welcome, there were stairs that led right to another ballroom/event. Guests from the other event were running rampant up and down those stairs and throughout the entryway where the champagne welcome was, almost to the point where staff was pushing our party out of the room in hopes of avoidance. Cocktail hour for our party was in a separate area of the venue, leading guests to go outside in the courtyard and up some stairs to locate it on their own. The organization overall was just confusing. There was a raw bar present at this wedding I went to, and some of the seafood presented wasn't good (slimy, smelling funky) leading us to avoid it. The outdoor pizza oven that I mentioned being a great feature -- almost no guests knew it existed since it was outside on the balcony and the entirety of cocktail hour was indoors with closed doors, which was a shame since the pizza was delicious. The main reception dinner was lacking, with almost everyone at our table's meals overcooked and inedible. The staff were visibly exhausted as well, with the day being pretty hot in the peak of summer and the maître d' refusing to increase the air conditioning, even with multiple guests and staff begging. We as guests were hot, making us feel terrible for the staff who are forced to wear long button down attire with coats over it to keep up the visual appeal. After speaking with a few staff members (busboys, waiters, bartenders) this seems to be the norm for this venue. This wedding was beautiful and such a good time due to good company, but definitely keep these things in mind when searching for a wedding venue of your own!

Menu although not that large had a good variety. From appetizers and soups to full on entrees there was plenty to choose from. They had several specials to offer today. They are known for the burgers apparently. My aunt and husband both had the Swiss Mountain Burger. Both enjoyed them. Although the cooking between them was a bit different. My husband's was a bit pink IMO but he likes rare so didn't really care. My daughter enjoyed the penne and meatballs from the dedicated kids menu. It came with a drink and dessert. The portion was hearty and she loved the meatball! Dinner rolls on the table were amazing. Mini chibatta style that were crusty in the outside and soft and chewy in the inside. My uncle had the chicken cashew salad. Large salad although looked like only iceberg as the base. Overall filled with plenty of toppings. I enjoyed one of the salmon specials for today. I chose the grilled lemon pepper salmon. All entrees like this are served with either rice or potato and veggies. I had mashed which were very creamy and flavorful. The salmon had good flavor but IMO was cooked just a little too long. It was flaky but the edges seemed a little dry. Overall I'd recommend it but suggest asking for a medium cook. They offered a dessert menu although everyone was full and decided on just some specialty coffee. Most dishes were in the $15-25 range. Overall I'd recommend giving it a try. *Sorry for the lack of pics we were so excited to see our out of town family that I totally forgot!

Our waitress Jody was so sweet and pleasant. That was all great but the food and drinks were not hitting the mark. My espresso martini was just really coffee with vodka,no beans. The blackberry sangria was tastey but no fruit except the garnish on the rim. We had fried calamari topped chili sauce which was okay. The French onion soup did not have one onion in it. The lemon pepper salmon special tasted fishy to me but my husband thought it was just overcooked. I had the grilled chicken cashew salad which was okay although the chicken was dry, bland, and overcooked. This place has so much potential if the food had hit the mark.

The place is very cute inside with different seating areas, multiple bars and a closed in outdoor patio with heaters which is where my friends and I partied the night away. We arrived around 10 pm and the place was mostly empty, but as the hours passed, the place got packed! We attended on a Latin night and I actually loved the good mix of music - it was mostly Spanish music, but not all. I really liked how we did not have to pay for bottle service for a table, because most other places require it in order to have a seat or table. The drinks are fairly priced, however, the hookah was a whopping $42. So we opted out of that. Maybe that's how much the price is now but I remember back in the day paying $25 for a hookah. I had a great night out and definitely will return. Thank you for a great night, 46 Lounge!

Being used to places like Illusions at the Sheraton Mahwah as well as the Limelight and Webster Hall, the NYE advertisement made it far larger than it actually is. Paid $100 for open bar and buffet - which is super reasonable but we would have preferred a table but none were available. Getting drinks throughout the night was not a problem - always prompt and friendly. The buffet was actually quite good which included jumbo shrimp, sushi, Spanish food , Italian, and lots of appetizers which were pretty good. In the beginning, we thought it was a bad idea coming as it was quite empty at 8pm. By 10:30, it was quite busy and at 11:30, packed to the limit. They served midnight champagne, party favors, and were quite well staffed. The BIG issues.... It was open bar. So I probably had at least 12-15 drinks. I would be normally plastered for drinking so much (and I don't normally drink very much). I just wanted a slight buzz so that I would enjoy the constant dancing. I always saw them pour at least 1 shot of alcohol per drink. I wasn't even slightly buzzed or drunk for that matter. Leads me to believe they watered down the bottles. I can't prove anything but the fact we drank so much all night with no effects leads me to wonder. Second, with hundreds of people and 1 women's bathroom with 2 stalls, my wife was was holding it in instead of waiting for a 30 minute + line. In the end, we did enjoy the NYE party very much. $100 is pretty reasonable but with alcohol issues, I would skip the place if that is important yo you.
